I'm watching from the beginning a second time, now I feel like I can watch it more relaxed. What I am loving: - The humour - Costumes - Supportive actors (everyone is so good!) - the enemies to lover trope - along with the he fell first and harder :) - and directing (I in fact looked in the director and then was shocked of course at their filmography)
Agreed - I couldn't figure out why either. Maybe he got hotter (aka combo of working out and his company investing…
oh thats nice that he has his own company, but even then as he becomes more successful he would have more money to spend on his appearance - i.e. dermatologist grade skincare/procedures, teethcare, diet - exercise etc. Orrr he can even negotiate with the production team to pay for that stuff as he becomes more and more successful atleast while dramas are filming. I mean this as a statement for all stars as they become more successful
i cant put my finger on why but ML seems so much hotter to me in this drama than prisoner of beauty, i think his…
Agreed - I couldn't figure out why either. Maybe he got hotter (aka combo of working out and his company investing more in his appearance), and his acting improving? Also I think him and the female lead look really good together and have good chemistry. They are both tall and skinny (but not too skinny). They are both mature and look like the epitome of female and male hotness together lol.
I was just reading the drama description and realized its all right there, "Only when Xiao Yu realizes that she is no longer living in the old plot and Nan Heng isnβt the villain she thought he was, could they both find the truth and perhaps love along with it."
In the next few episodes it looks like we will get some progress towards this.
I used to think he was average looking but I really liked his personality, but recently I am realizing he is VERY good looking. Maybe its his really calm personality and adorable smile. Plus he looks really good on screen. I started noticing it especially during Dream Within a Dream.
Very sad there isn't many dramas with him coming up after this is done, but hopefully some great new projects will come his way and he will have more choices on what to do.
This drama is taking me through a roller coaster, I feel like I can't watch it in peace until I see the story play out fully at least once π΅βπ«. On another note, LYN and LYT look so GOOD TOGETHER. I love them, I am living on their promos/reuters right now. I would love to see them in a modern drama.
I also just kind of want to see Li Yi Tong and Ling Yu Ning play a married couple in a drama lol. They have that vibe of lovingly fighting with each other very well, but at the end of the day taking care of each other. Plus they both seem to be more mature actors. They would be good for a Blair and Chuck type of vibe for a drama (if anyone gets that reference and has seen gossip girl lol)
Also just realized both actors are the same age as me lol
When I watched the first episode I felt so bad for the FL. The scene where she walked in on her husband and sister as well as the scene where Nan Heng doesn't save her when she falls from the wall but he saves her sister - those were all devastating for me and I understand why the female lead acted the way she did in the beginning. But what I don't get is why he did those things in the first place? It seems very out of place with the Nan Heng we are getting to know. Was he deceived about her by someone else? and ALSO her sister who seems to care very little about finding a man unless its a soulmate and power/connections/money etc. Why would she do that? Or is it that the script is changing very rapidly because of the FL messing with the storyline - and Nan Heng is turning into a good person?
I am enjoying the comedic parts of the script. The FL is very pretty. But I do wish we got to see her and Nan Heng's romance developing instead of Li Shi Liu - because I don't like when there are mistaken identities etc. it makes it harder for me to appreciate the romance they have included in these latter episodes.
I watched episode 1, and was intrigued. Interesting premise and from the trailer I assumed they knew each other at episode 1 and they didn't (which I like, I've been less into childhood friends to lovers type of shows lately).
I also liked Shen Yue more in this drama so far than i usually like her and the ML seems to balance her overly cheery attitude. There were a few instances where her characters reaction to situations surprised me in a good way (i.e in the comedy show where she was trying to make him laugh despite his cold response, and also how she told him see you next time at the comedy show after their rough interview). I personally wouldn't have wanted to see him again after, so her reaction while crying surprised me. I also think she seems to show her age in her acting now, which is a good thing.
My fav thing about episode 1 was when the ML was drawing her. I'm a bit of an emotionally distant person too, so I wanted to understand more what he was feeling in that situation.
Love this drama so far. Amazing cast, I like how the plot seems like its going to build over time, and there is so much complexities for the feelings between the ML and FL.
Definitely has me on the hook for the next episode. Plus the comedic moments are solid.
Noticed him first as Yang Kang in Legend of the Condor Heroes 2017 (Yang Kang was the antagonist Jin prince's…
Wow I didn't realize he was so young! He definitely comes across as more mature. I am going to watch more of his dramas. So glad I stumbled across this one and got introduced to him.

1) Li Shi Liu
2) Nan Heng (despite her claiming to still hate him)
3) Chu Gui Hong π
