Also I am enjoying this drama a lot, its like an amazing script met a phenomenal director + world class acting. Not to mention sound editing and soundtracks etc. (+ things that I won't know to call out that goes behind the scenes). Truly all the actors are doing an incredible job.
I know some people are planning to let episodes accumulate and binge this show (i typically like to do that too), but this show is so complex, there is so many stories, the story gets unlayered bit by bit and I've been enjoying watching 2 episodes at a time (I do have express lol).
I think this is one of those shows that has made me cry every episode, whether in joy, sadness, anger, frustration or some sort of reflection - I think its too much to process at ones. Getting it bit by bit is almost a good thing, and It will be satisfying to rewatch it all over again when all the episodes are out.
As someone whose been a ZLS fan since 2021, I feel like I've watched her grow up in front of my eyes. I am watching Dating in the Kitchen again right now, and how much she has grown as an actress, her acting range and how much of an elegant woman she is now is mind blowing. She is such an amazing role model in every drama role she takes on and always inspires me to be better and try harder too.
Does this director have a love for cooking, or is it that the two dramas (Dating in the Kitchen and now this) with him and Lusi I have watched have both included a decent amount of food and cooking scenes lol?
Queen Lusi is back to grace my screen <3. I was getting tired of not feeling much when I was watching things…
Also I am just now realizing there is tons of spoilers out there about this show, based on the novel people have read - so please no spoilers please. In fact I will just stop reading comments going forward lol
Queen Lusi is back to grace my screen <3. I was getting tired of not feeling much when I was watching things and I am feeling all sorts of things watching this. I especially loved Xu Yan and Hao Mings meet and greet.
I can't wait to see more screen time between them, and also to get to know the ML's character more, and that is probably my only wish(es) so far. But I am guessing this is a very layered love story and we have to be patient.
I'm watching from the beginning a second time, now I feel like I can watch it more relaxed. What I am loving: - The humour - Costumes - Supportive actors (everyone is so good!) - the enemies to lover trope - along with the he fell first and harder :) - and directing (I in fact looked in the director and then was shocked of course at their filmography)
Agreed - I couldn't figure out why either. Maybe he got hotter (aka combo of working out and his company investing…
oh thats nice that he has his own company, but even then as he becomes more successful he would have more money to spend on his appearance - i.e. dermatologist grade skincare/procedures, teethcare, diet - exercise etc. Orrr he can even negotiate with the production team to pay for that stuff as he becomes more and more successful atleast while dramas are filming. I mean this as a statement for all stars as they become more successful
i cant put my finger on why but ML seems so much hotter to me in this drama than prisoner of beauty, i think his…
Agreed - I couldn't figure out why either. Maybe he got hotter (aka combo of working out and his company investing more in his appearance), and his acting improving? Also I think him and the female lead look really good together and have good chemistry. They are both tall and skinny (but not too skinny). They are both mature and look like the epitome of female and male hotness together lol.
I was just reading the drama description and realized its all right there, "Only when Xiao Yu realizes that she is no longer living in the old plot and Nan Heng isnβt the villain she thought he was, could they both find the truth and perhaps love along with it."
In the next few episodes it looks like we will get some progress towards this.
I used to think he was average looking but I really liked his personality, but recently I am realizing he is VERY good looking. Maybe its his really calm personality and adorable smile. Plus he looks really good on screen. I started noticing it especially during Dream Within a Dream.
Very sad there isn't many dramas with him coming up after this is done, but hopefully some great new projects will come his way and he will have more choices on what to do.
This drama is taking me through a roller coaster, I feel like I can't watch it in peace until I see the story play out fully at least once π΅βπ«. On another note, LYN and LYT look so GOOD TOGETHER. I love them, I am living on their promos/reuters right now. I would love to see them in a modern drama.
