Just finished all the episodes, I absolutely loved it. I don't know if I can remember a c-drama I thoroughly enjoyed start to finish like this in a long time.
I can't wait to rewatch from the beginning once all the eps are out. I prefer to watch this on my TV, and since the last few episodes is only out in Express I had to watch on my phone :(. But I absolutely loved this story so much - and William and ZLS as well as other cast members were perfect for their roles.
Also the chemistry between William and Lusi is on POINT 🔥
The drunk episode was hilarious - I was LOL'ing this morning before work. They are both such cold, aloof people, that seeing this side of them that is less perfect is really nice and you can see their genuine feelings for each other coming out.
I think HM is scared to apologies to her because if she turns him down after he bears it all - he has no leg to stand on (plus its extremely uncomfortable for avoidant attachment people to talk about feelings, they just want to sweep things under the rug and for things to be okay and not messy. I am an avoidant attachment person so I know), so he just keeps coming into her life and hoping things will be okay, but obviously in the next episode or two it seems like he is going to lay it all down.
I also liked the parallel at the end of the episode. In episode 14 he threw back her attempt to reconcile and told her they should have a mutual beneficial arrangement, and here she got to say it back to him because no matter how much he was helping her out there was always an underlying piece where he was also taking care of his own interests (even though it did happen to be mutually beneficial).

Okay I know today's episode was a bit slow on the romance part, but there was a point where HM and XY was talking about how to improve the fashion show, and at the end of their discussion the way HM was looking at her was so 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. I was waiting for them to like kiss or hug - and I could see they wanted to do that. That's definitely progress.
And then the dinner, I know we are all disappointed in our girl XY for flirting with Liang. But to be fair, before HM came back into the picture Liang was the person who helped them get into the trajectory of even being entrepreneurs. HM destroyed her, and Liang helped her out at a very low point.
Also HM needs to properly apologies to XY and tell her he loves her, can't live without her and wants her back (instead telling everyone else BUT her) lol.
Also weren't they supposed to be doing 2 episodes a day, with it being wrapped up Friday? Since the drama is such a hit, did they switch to one episode a day just to keep people coming to the platform for longer (and then pay extra for the express package.....)
I guess my only way of rationalizing his claim to have always loved her and thrown back her reconciliation attempt in her face is that he didn't believe that she loved him sincerely until she left not taking money or anything with her. And also left her job.
I guess he truly believed she was using him and was using emotions to manipulate him into caring about her even more than he already did which to him (who seems like is an avoidant attachment person) would feel like losing control. And it seems like the Feng sisters did a number on manipulating him so his past with girls must not have been super great either.....
And now that he sees how sincere she is, its too late. He has fucked up so bad.....
I loved the two ML's together and hope they someday have another project together.
Thats what makes this drama so interesting - the layers and the fact its not predictable.
