I also just kind of want to see Li Yi Tong and Ling Yu Ning play a married couple in a drama lol. They have that vibe of lovingly fighting with each other very well, but at the end of the day taking care of each other. Plus they both seem to be more mature actors. They would be good for a Blair and Chuck type of vibe for a drama (if anyone gets that reference and has seen gossip girl lol)
Also just realized both actors are the same age as me lol
When I watched the first episode I felt so bad for the FL. The scene where she walked in on her husband and sister as well as the scene where Nan Heng doesn't save her when she falls from the wall but he saves her sister - those were all devastating for me and I understand why the female lead acted the way she did in the beginning. But what I don't get is why he did those things in the first place? It seems very out of place with the Nan Heng we are getting to know. Was he deceived about her by someone else? and ALSO her sister who seems to care very little about finding a man unless its a soulmate and power/connections/money etc. Why would she do that? Or is it that the script is changing very rapidly because of the FL messing with the storyline - and Nan Heng is turning into a good person?
I am enjoying the comedic parts of the script. The FL is very pretty. But I do wish we got to see her and Nan Heng's romance developing instead of Li Shi Liu - because I don't like when there are mistaken identities etc. it makes it harder for me to appreciate the romance they have included in these latter episodes.
I watched episode 1, and was intrigued. Interesting premise and from the trailer I assumed they knew each other at episode 1 and they didn't (which I like, I've been less into childhood friends to lovers type of shows lately).
I also liked Shen Yue more in this drama so far than i usually like her and the ML seems to balance her overly cheery attitude. There were a few instances where her characters reaction to situations surprised me in a good way (i.e in the comedy show where she was trying to make him laugh despite his cold response, and also how she told him see you next time at the comedy show after their rough interview). I personally wouldn't have wanted to see him again after, so her reaction while crying surprised me. I also think she seems to show her age in her acting now, which is a good thing.
My fav thing about episode 1 was when the ML was drawing her. I'm a bit of an emotionally distant person too, so I wanted to understand more what he was feeling in that situation.
Love this drama so far. Amazing cast, I like how the plot seems like its going to build over time, and there is so much complexities for the feelings between the ML and FL.
Definitely has me on the hook for the next episode. Plus the comedic moments are solid.
Noticed him first as Yang Kang in Legend of the Condor Heroes 2017 (Yang Kang was the antagonist Jin prince's…
Wow I didn't realize he was so young! He definitely comes across as more mature. I am going to watch more of his dramas. So glad I stumbled across this one and got introduced to him.
Thanks for replying and for understanding where my question was coming from, sometimes I am afraid to ask things…
oh, p.s yes I watched Gen Z for Lusi. It was a cute drama with some problematic/questionable plot holes, I totally agree. Loved her and the ML, and I liked some of the messages and some knowledge about TCM.
I think the funniest part to me about that drama was her tom boy nature, and her wardrobe. So different from Lusi in real life haha
Someone pls spoil me, does that Huashu girl eventually get what she deserves?
She doesn't, but they wrap it up in a way that I felt sorry and pitiful towards her than anything else. It took way too long lets just say.... that was the most frustrating part
After LLTG I honestly expected Zhao Lusi to be fully booked with dramas. Is she not getting projects or is she…
Thanks for replying and for understanding where my question was coming from, sometimes I am afraid to ask things on these platforms because I don't want to offend anyone.
I've been following her career closely for a few years now (on twitter lol), I think she was booked solid from when she did TROTR to wrapping up TLI (those were all contracts she had before LLTG aired). And then from the wrap up of TLI filming to the TLOJ she had a break (well deserved but also extended because booting of this project got delayed a few times). But other project announcements have been quiet which is what I am confused about, and I am sure there are many factors weighing in as to why.
She gets so much hate for no reason, when WRTW was filming she was getting attacked, when LLTG was filming Wu Lei's other couple fans were attacking her and I know the last year and bit hasn't been smooth. I think perhaps since she is a rising star people are trying to compete with her and sometimes not in the best ways. I agree its probably just best to keep projects announcements downlow until the booting ceremony kicks off if possible. Even with LTI there was so many rumours about a ML not signing up (and now when I watch the interviews with ZLS and WAY you can see he was signed up for that project when LLTG was airing. So many of these rumors are fake). And I'm sure a lot of the drama around a ML for TLOJ was also fake (I think Liu Yu Ning did a live stream about it - I didn't watch it though).
She is an amazing actress I hope she has an awesome year and yes I also prefer quality over quantity. She has mentioned before when she reads a script she really analyzes whether she can portray that role well and if she's the best person to take that on. I think she was so focused on working hard for so many years now she can actually breath, slow down a bit and focus on projects she really wants to take on etc. I agree she has taken on diverse roles and have done a good job with them. I maybe selfish in saying this but I really love when she does her comedic cute roles (because not a lot of actresses can pull that off lol). I think in Gen Z she showed she can ace a serious role while also being comedic and in WRTW she was really bad ass.
Yeah maybe in a year or two they can collaborate again π₯Ή - I love the interactions with her and WAY. She is so comfy with him. Maybe we can get a variety show haha :D
After LLTG I honestly expected Zhao Lusi to be fully booked with dramas. Is she not getting projects or is she being extra cautious with the projects she is choosing?
Its just the other actors and actresses that are at this level (I don't want to name any names) seem to have many projects on the go that they are already booked for so I'm a little confused. I don't know much about c-ent industry so I don't mean for this comment to be offensive at all. I only got into C dramas because of Lusi (now 4 years ago). So I'm asking as a fan who has limited understanding of stuff happening in China (and no understanding of the language).
And I really hope that WAY and ZLS will do another modern drama project together.
1) Li Shi Liu
2) Nan Heng (despite her claiming to still hate him)
3) Chu Gui Hong π

But seriously I didn't know about this actor before.... he's good looking
