The ending felt so slow and yet rushed at the same time...but in their defense I was not aware that it was going to be getting a second season, only that it felt like they were setting up for one.

I really hope they can tie everything up nicely in the next ten episodes. The lead actress swap needs to be done well and seamlessly too. If she doesn’t have any chemistry with LJW the drama is done.

Who does Jang love? Naksu or Mudeok? Cos if the two seperate in season two, who will he go for?
Naksu as Mu Deok basically so Naksu. Mu Deok is essentially just a shell. All of her characteristics and personality traits stem from Naksu herself. Bu Yeon is a different story but she only has a spiritual presence so there’s confusion about her inhabiting Naksu as Mu Deok either. Additionally Uk is already aware that Mu Deok is Naksu so there’s confusion there either even though he calls her Mu Deok (him calling her Master signifies his understanding that Naksu is inhabiting the body).

I can't go back and read all the posts, but I know there is a lot of discussion (and controversy) over them changing…
This is why soul swap dramas are always tricky to write. You really have to sacrifice your actors for the characters/soul inhabiting them (which admittedly can be controversial) but is the right way to go in my opinion if the writers are going to go there.

We always knew it was Naksu in Mu Deok’s body and so did Uk so I don’t think there’s any confusion about who he loves. Naksu may have lived as Mu Deok but her personality (her glares and stubbornness for example) and soul is Naksu all the way.

Of course it sucks to replace an actor portraying a character within a character but characters should ALWAYS be prioritized to keep the integrity of a story authentic.

Although we’ve grown attached to JSM as Naksu as Mu Deok and are sad to see her go the saving grace here is that they’ll have 10 episodes to really expand on the original Naksu (and her relationship with Uk) so hopefully they can sell it chemistry wise.

Omg JSM is really getting replaced? :( I mean it makes sense narrative wise (Uk was always in love with Naksu in Mu Deok’s body so no confusion there thankfully) but it’ll take a while to get used to...All the best to JSM though I wished she had gotten more time as Naksu and not just Mu Deok because she was badass.

Title Yumi's Cells Season 2 Spoiler
He's not a SML in Season 2. In the webtoon after they broke up they are done. He came back for a cameo type of…
Oh ok. For some reason he’s listed as a main lead so I just assumed he’d be getting more than a cameo type screen time...it wouldn’t make sense for him to stick around if he wasn’t the lead though.

Truthfully I’m not too happy with the premise of her being with someone new each season but I guess it’s the whole premise of the source material.

Will Ahn Bo Hyun have a large role in this season? It seems like he’s missing from all of the promos...I know he’s delegated to SML this season but I’m just wondering how that will translate over to screen time.

Also Da Woon has the sexiest voice ever. It’s like the perfect boyfriend voice. The part where he tells Si Won goodnight and to “come over here” *swoon*.

The kiss where Si Won was a bit frantic was my favorite because it felt very realistic. Da Woon telling him to relax and leading was so wholesome. We don’t always get it right our first time. Sometimes it’s awkward or clumsy but once you ease into it, it becomes almost magical.

Title Blueming
A beautifully told slice of life and healing drama focused on self discovery and (self) love. The leads through each other learn to accept and grow from their insecurities and to ultimately truly love themselves. One of the most realistic portrayals of love in that it helps us grow to become better versions of ourself.

Title Fai Sin Chua Spoiler
Despite being the main couple narratively Ben and Fah didn’t get as much screen time together. They were apart for almost 10 episodes! Orawee and Pipi (who I didn’t like very much) for some reason gets most of the screen time. The ending is weird too because it introduces a last minute plot point and you don’t even see any of the couples together at the end just flashbacks...it’s like the actors left or something and they just scrambled to fill in the minutes. Ben and Fah did have good chemistry just wished they had scenes together.

He reminds me so much of the late Cha In Ha. The vibe he gave off in his drama First Love Again was very similar to In Ha’s in Love With Flaws. That air of suave and confidence.

Omg I loved this one so much! It’s easily one of my favorites so far. Very underrated and kind of went under the radar because it was airing alongside more popular KBL’s but damn don’t miss out on this one!

I’ve watched every single KBL so far and this one is a notch above most of them in quality and storytelling. It felt like I was watching a full length Korean drama just condensed into 3 hours. Great storytelling, adorable chemistry between the leads, awesome best friends (with an equally compelling love triangle plus a jealous ML ), fun side characters and a beautifully conveyed message.

I personally didn’t notice any of the bad acting that’s been thrown around here because the leads were adorable together and cried their hearts out. I felt their love for each other.

The episode time/count has been updated and it’s looking to be almost 3 hrs so that’s a win for us. The trailer looks so good already too. HDS hasn’t disappointed yet so I’m super excited for this one.

Deserves a higher rating to be honest at least 8.5. I know BL’s tend to get lower ratings on here but this series is infinitely better than a lot of other highly rated dramas on here (most of which are up there mainly because of popularity and not quality).

I didn’t like this one that much. They tried to do too many things it just detracted from the main couple. The side couple and love triangle were unnecessary given the length. The kisses were decent at least...

idk...at this point im just feeling like this is becoming quantity over quality with these Korean BLs....like…
It’s mostly budget issues. BL’s are growing in popularity in Korea but they’re still not at the budget level of mainstream network/cable channels yet. Most of it comes down to funding. If Netflix or Viki wanted to they could dabble into the genre and fund their own shows but until then we’ll probably continue to get short low budget series. Some of the shorter series aren’t bad either but could have benefitted from more funding.

It’s interesting to note that Korea is catching up pretty quickly to other countries in terms of BL production. Thailand and Taiwan had a couple of more years but Korea is already caught up to Taiwan and may surpass it soon in quantity with all the new BL’s coming out monthly. I think Korea will reach Thailand quality BL soon (1-2 years) if they continue to release popular series like Semantic Error and Cherry Blossoms After Winter. Hopefully Blueming and To My Star 2 will contribute to it as well.

It was good but could have been better with fewer episodes. There was a lot of repetition and plot points that could have been something compelling but just fizzled (the pregnant student, the mom). The ending leaves a lot to be desired but I think it’ll definitely get a second season.

Korea's top 3 bls1. Light on me2. To my star3. Semantic error What do yall think are the top 3?
Where Your Eyes Linger is the one that started it all and made everything that came after it possible so it would be disservice not to include it. Semantic Error, To My Star, Light On Me, and You Make Me Dance are all great too.

So sad he has to leave when he is just about to reach his peak. :( At least when he comes back he’ll have more projects lined up for him. Good luck in the military. <3
