My favorite KBL to date tied with WYEL. It didn’t feel rushed like a lot of other ones and the leads had amazing chemistry. The kisses were the cherry on top too. Park Seo Ham is a really good kisser...even the small little kisses gave me the feels.
The FL had great chemistry with both MLs. She was a bit naive but at least she was brave in love and always said what needed to be said. I wished Daniel could have been more selfish and brave in love too but he had a good heart. It was nice to see Chen Min get a happy ending too.
I think it’s more of him (vampire) not wanting to drink his (human) blood period. He didn’t drink the blood…
I can’t say for sure but in that scene he was still determined to stay alive (him wanting to drink Min Hyun’s blood when he found out he was a pure blood to become human). It was a means to stay alive. But I think he changed his mindset after falling in love and just decided to let go, hence him no longer wanting any more blood.
Ok, hear me out. If he could drink blood from bags and not just straight from the person, couldn't they have just…
I think it’s more of him (vampire) not wanting to drink his (human) blood period. He didn’t drink the blood bag the lady gave him too. Maybe he was already ready to accept his end and or didn’t want to use/hurt the person he loved (again). It was a bit selfless on his part but I think he chose to leave on his own terms.
They chose the perfect actor to play a vampire because damn KJW looked so good. The story was a bit rushed but the chemistry was there. Out of all the recent KBLs I truly wished this one was longer. The premise deserves a more fleshed out story.
Don’t worry about the ratings too much it just started airing and BLs tend to get low ratings on here for some reason (even the high quality ones). I wish they were doing 2 eps a week though....the wait is going to be aggravating.
The first couple of episodes were riveting (plus shirtless/tank top JCW) but got dull and continued to get duller all the way to the end. I finished it just to finish it.
Marriage contract romcoms used to be the rage back then. Glad this drama is bringing it back. It’s a nice change from all the thrillers we’ve been getting.
Anyone else think the cinematography is pretty damn good too? I don’t usually pay too much attention since most dramas are filmed with one camera but some of the transitions were done really well and the special effects are used really well too (the clothes changing scenes for example).
So far it’s pretty cute and funny. Definitely looking forward to the next episode.
The FL was a bit naive in the beginning but has great character development. The ML was such a sweetheart throughout. Kitkong has the cutest smile and most expressive eyes. The 2nd leads were really cute together too. Wadee is seriously the best best friend ever, she was super supportive but also kept it real. Their friendship was truly the heart of the show.
I wished we could have gotten an epilogue or montage with all of the characters to show us what happened to them after especially the students and Cheong Ya. The ending although poignant felt a bit rushed and left a lot of unanswered questions.
Narratively it seemed like the FL didn’t get to do much. I wish Young Ro had more to do than just cry but to her credit Ji Soo did deliver during those emotional scenes. They could have written her more as an emotional support/leader for all of the girls but sadly she kind of just faded into the background. Thankfully we got Yoo In Na as Cheong Ya because she was fearless and badass.
There’s a lot of debate on whether this is BL or not and in my opinion it is! BL implies romantic interest.…
I think it would be interesting if they explored the love between a mono and a mono. Despite being a mono himself Se Hyun still has feelings for Yeon Woo. Two people in love who could never see color would be an interesting concept. Aka let these two be together even though they’ll suffer :(
There’s a lot of debate on whether this is BL or not and in my opinion it is! BL implies romantic interest. Even though it’s a one sided romance (presumably so since we don’t know Yeon Woo’s true feelings) you still get all of those heart fluttering moments. Plus that kiss on the forehead was super cute. Se Hyun was adorable and completely stole my heart so it’s unfortunate that he’ll be delegated as SML. He might not even appear in the 3rd season if they decide to do one. :( Although I’d love for them to explore the love triangle more in a new season.
In terms of production and quality value the first season was definitely better. This season felt like a jumbled mess and the editing was terrible to be frank. From sound cutting off to awkward music and scene transitions it definitely could have used a lot of work. The only thing that saved this drama was Hyuk as Se Hyun and his chemistry with Yeon Woo.
Honestly would’ve been better at 10 or 12 episodes. It starts to drag a little towards the end and loses a lot of steam after that pivotal fight. I never really warmed up to the main character because he was kind of rash and bratty throughout but I did like his relationship with his friends and with the other counters.
Cute boys and good music but very weak writing. Things just happen without any explanation or context so you’re left scratching your head at times. I did like the chemistry between main couple and the father/son moments were nice. It’s rare to see such a kind hearted and supportive parental figure in a BL.
Yay to getting an openly LGBTQ+ Actor (although it’ll be his first role) to star in this. I’m excited for Han Gi Chan too because he kind of went MIA after WYEL. Considering how successful it was it should have gotten him a sequel or at least more projects.
The trailer already has me sold. Ji Woong looks so good as a seductive vampire.
Although KBL’s are shorter and lower in production value I do appreciate the variety we’re getting. I remember Thai BL’s being solely school based the first couple of years so it’s a good start for Korea at least. And of course love triangles are starting to creep their way into KBL’s too but maybe it’s just a Korea thing lol.
a really good kisser...even the small little kisses gave me the feels.
