I really liked the series, but this review was just too witty and hilarious for me not to hit the 'Yes' button🤣🤣🤣
Awww.... Thank you!
Don't pay attention to my ratings. I really don't know how to rate a series on a scale. I didn't have a bad time of it watching the show. It's the utter lack of chemistry that made me frustrated with it. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much!
Thoughts on Ep. 3 below. Putting a spoiler tag, just in case.
This episode might well be titled: "Women on the verge..." Confession, rejections, bad kisses, men throwing up at the idea of straight sex, Mishima's mum coughing her way to... cancer, I guess? Only, Rinka is a boss bitch, and I love her.
I didn't think Kirino would overtake Mishima as my favourite. But I think he has. The boy says 'atashi', but identifies as gay, and lusts after Edokawa. Edokawa has that magical rug. I didn't think Japanese men liked chest hair or big bears. Now, I suddenly feel seen. I'm booking that flight to Tokyo tonight.
Mishima's character in this episode did not make sense. His actions were quite at odds with who he was the past two weeks. Also, please, sweetheart, wear a better wig!
The tonal jumps in this show are insane. Now, it is in the realm of pure comedy. Next week, I sense a tragedy coming.
And what's wrong with enjoying some cheap, silly but pretty nonsense? Absolutely nothing! Good for you! Sometimes…
Well said! I've never understood the idea of a "guilty pleasure" -- an oxymoron if there ever was one. It is only the moralists who ever want you to feel guilty about pleasure. Also, as you point out, a little bit less of sexual frustration, and the world would be a much better place!
I forgot about the rest of the show, and was glad to be reminded of its highlights. Oh god, the singing, the singing! Also, I can never forget that string. :) Heavens help us.
P. S. Can I just say, if you use the word 'pleonasm' in a comment, you and I are destined to be the best of friends?
Hey, hate-watching's a thing, a source of genuine pleasure, and, in my case, a fertile ground to harvest a good…
Fair enough! :)
I'm just happy I got to introduce the phrase 'pissing through the arse' into these hallowed halls, in honour of my friend Claire, who's probably somewhere in a pub down Oxford Circus doing just that.
Eh. An okay beginning. I'm tired of people who don't answer direct questions in BL. Such an over-used trope. Since…
I'm with you on this. I'm also tired of KBLs never using the word "gay" or "bi" (can't think of the last time, if ever, I heard it in one) -- even though Su-an clearly is -- as if it were the plague. Sigh.
dont look at the negative comments! However you feel about a drama is yours to feel and no ones to judge! This…
Thank you for your lovely comment! As it happens, I enjoyed the series too. I just didn't take it too seriously, and, among the many, many, many, many, many food-based JBLs, this one was well above average. My rating is a mere reflection of that, because I don't grade on a scale. If I were reviewing Old Fashion Cupcake, it would be a 9, whereas Kinou nani tabeta? would be a 1 or 2. Sugar Dog Life just falls in the middle.
Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the series, and this review! It's all I could ask for!
My friend: Yes, let's leave this Earth behind...

That said, yes, this show is what a friend of mine might call: 'pissing through the arse'.
P. S. Is that Young Royals on your profile pic?
Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the series, and this review! It's all I could ask for!
