My first chinese drama ever was Untamed then because of it I became obsessed by chinese dramas ,, it has some…
WOH/SHL isn't similar to The Untamed. Based on genre, it was 2 different genre.
TU/CQL is xianxia mixed with wuxia with magic involved (ie: necromancer, ghost, taoism).
WOH/SHL is pure wuxia with sects/clan, martial arts, master-disciple.
The story is also different compare to TU/CQL, the only similarity they share is both of shows having two male leads. Please also note that WOH/SHL is on screen adaptation based on Tian Ya Ke novel written 6 years before MDZS (the original source of TU/CQL) by Priest.
I never read the novel and there's something that I still don't understand so if someone knows please tell me,…
Hahaha!! He's human, the leader of a sect/clan called Ghost Valley because they live in there. (PS: Ghost Valley is a name of place). Ghost Valley is the place where unwanted people/outcast went there for a reason. It can be because they are too evil for society, bad guy even broken hearted women who's betrayed by her love and family. When they came there, they are required to drink a potion called "water of lethe" just to forget their past.
If you notice, people from Ghost Valley dressed differently compare to normal people live in Jianghu world because they see that they are outcast. They are tagged as evil people ( yes they are!) and living in Ghost Valley is to kill or be killed. They always quarrel between each other to fight the leadership position.
Wen Kexing rose to the leadership because he killed the former leader
ok I understand a lot of people's complaints about WKX's reaction to ZZS in ep 31 and the rescue scene but I actually…
I was also the one who complained about the scene because I think it's off and very OOC. But then again, people in SHL Weibo suggested to rewatch at the 2nd time and I did yesterday evening. Yes, finally I do understand him and why the producer/director didn't re-edit the scene.
I think the current Douban rating for Word of Honor is 8.6, which is like a otherworldly almost celestial level…
TU/CQL is 7.7 now. It considers good because when it was airing the score is 6 something. The strange thing in TU/CQL score is, it always goes up and down depending on the fans and antis :(
hahahaha, I think you two are talking about two different things. What 胡乱改个名字 meant is that the Taiwannise…
At first yes, but now even media and government ride a long WOH popularity to spread their campaign or to attract the audience. If you do speak mandarin, you might go to weibo and you can find WOH and Gongjun also Zhang Zhehan is everywhere hahaha.
MXTX and Priest they both are fantastic author and I've read many novels from MXTX and Priest. But for me who…
If you said screenplay adaptation, you don't say that it would be 100% same like the novel. Did you watch Game of Thrones? Lord of The Rings? the script isn't translating 100% page by page like you read in the novel. Also did you watch several screenplay adaptation for Shakespeare's Romeo+Juliet? The treatment is also the same. Screenplay adaption from original source regardless what medium you are using (donghua, movie, series, play, audio drama, etc) is having their own charm and their own interpretation of original source.
So, back again, the donghua might be different from the novel but it's the donghua interpretation based on the script and story written by scriptwriter.
Writing books and writing screenplays are two entirely different beasts.
Please, guys, I feelashamed to request this. But, I might as well just ask, since I can't afford the price of…
Hi!! Not trying to take away your enjoyment of watching SHL/WOH, but please watch it from legal source. You can watch it from YK YT channel too for free :)
Why do people compare the untamed with WOH... I don't get.... Say WOH is better than The untamed.... How.....…
MXTX and Priest they both are fantastic author and I've read many novels from MXTX and Priest. But for me who is a fan of both Priest and MXTX also a fan of MDZS universe , I can tell WOH/SHL has better script, better acting and better directing compare to TU.
For me TU/CQL is unable to translate the same feeling when people listening to the audio drama or reading the book because of 30 episodes flashback. I have to admit that I did fast-forwarding episodes until episode 33. Also 50 episodes is too long and it took away watching experience because of boring script and plot during the flashback
If we are talking which MDZS adaptation is the best, I would say audio drama then followed by donghua.
Don't mind it, it's duboku. The most important is Douban as the site is for reviewing the drama. Also I don't…
Yeah, illegal site like DC is uploading many contents just for their own benefit. Their revenue coming from ads popping in many contents and the website itself. Traffic contents are generating more revenue that's why they upload new contents daily in anything just to retain the traffic and revenue. The content maker isn't getting any money from there.
Me too, it upsets me as people seemed ignoring the fact that drama isn't free. Drama is created for our enjoyment and entertainment, it's true, but it's not free. A lot of investment put to create drama content. Even when you see drama uploaded by official channel in YT for free viewing, it's not free either. Their content is generating ads and revenue from advertisers, that's why always watch it from official channel, don't watch it from re-uploader channel and don't skip the ads because revenue is coming from there (unless you are using YTP).
It's hard to educate about intellectual property nowadays TT TT.
Please note that CQL/TU is the adaptation from MDZS and if you read MDZS, TU/CQL is slightly different.
IMHO, from all 3 MXTX novels, TGCF is well written compare to SVSS and MDZS. I can tell MXTX did a lot of research when creating Hua Cheng and Xie Lian. MDZS for me is romance centric between WangXian but TGCF isn't. Romance is part of the story and you can tell every characters have their own story to tell in TGCF universe. In MDZS we only can see side story during Yi City Arc, but the rest is WangXian centric and romance between them. Also I love how MXTX didn't sell heavy PDA in TGCF due to mature theme, unlike MDZS, PDA is a must. Not that I'm against it tho......incense burner extra chapter... ifyouknowwhatimean
But again, it depends on your taste. If you like xianxia, romance-heavy story with a little bit of action and a little bit of angst, it's MDZS. But If you like character centric story, fantasy realm, multi layers character and romance as part of the overall story, then TGCF is for you.
I am really very very much impressed by Zhang zhe Han''s acting. His facial expressions are worth to watch. The…
Me too!! I watched him in Legend of Yunxi but I wasn't that impressed, perhaps the story like Legend of Yunxi is nothing special and too common. When I watched Legend of Yunxi, I only saw him as a handsome male lead, that's all.
When I learned that ZZH will be lead of TYK, at that time I wasn't that interested too. I thought he's going to be another Long Fei Ye, his character in Legend of Yunxi.
15 minutes in episode 1 of SHL, I wasn't convinced too, especially his make up and style is the same like his previous character. But after ZZS left Tianchuang, I can see his charm. Little by little his ZZS is showing his charm. I love everything he's done to bring ZZS character to live with his body language and expression is ZZS, the character I read in TYK.
He's amazing actor!
PS: I read TYK last year after I finished all MXTX trilogy. TYK was the 3rd novel from Priest that I read.
