So, to my understanding she hears 2 different sounds or no sounds at all. Sometimes a bell sound when someone…
Even I find the sounds confusing and cannot really tell whether she is hearing a lie or the truth. Her expression and her subsequent dialogue sometimes do not reveal much.
I really liked the series at first, but it became less interesting around episode 2 when they focused too much…
To me, the entire story felt incomplete in one way or another. They introduced a stalker in the plot who was apprehended, only to later reveal that he wasn't the actual perpetrator behind the murders of women. The writer dedicated nearly 8 episodes to this storyline. Eventually, the real murderer was caught, but they failed to provide an explanation for his motive. Additionally, they introduced a pregnant teen whose connection to the main storyline was unclear. Was this subplot meant to illustrate Eun Mi's decision not to abort her child and the difficulties she faced? In the end, when the pregnant teen asks for sanitary pads, does this imply that she aborted her child? And what was with her snarky attitude with Jin Hee??
What happened to the grandparents who were introduced in Ep 11? Then there was Park Sang Joo and Mi Jung storyline which I happily skipped – I did not even want to know what it was about.
The most frustrating character was Jae Won. Throughout the entire 11 episodes, an air of mystery surrounded him. He seldom spoke, and his thought process remained unexplained. Later, we discover that he had been demoted and transferred due to false bribery allegations. His passive nature was such that he didn't even attempt to uncover the truth, which also applied to his relationship with Jin Hee.
The ending was a mess - both of them planning solo trips and leaving the men they had dated behind... why would the men wait for them? Oh, I see... it's probably because both men shared similar characteristics - dull and uninteresting.
This is the second time I have watched a drama while it was being aired - lesson learned never to do that as we are investing our precious time for an undeserving story.
I had hoped that Jae Won would muster courage and advocate for their relationship, but unfortunately, that did not happen. This guy is so self-righteous that he allowed his coworkers to exploit him, spreading falsehoods about his acceptance of a bribe. He didn't invest significant effort into demonstrating his innocence AND only confessed when the girl he had feelings for asked him directly. Until the very end, I never came to understand his thoughts. Jin Hee made the right decision to leave him behind and embark on a solo backpacking journey around the world. This guy is as dull and boring as Jin Hong! In my perspective, Park Sung Hoon should not have agreed to take part in this drama - his talent was completely wasted.
It is because they selected an actor who has better chemistry with the FL rather than the other 2. She has a sibling relationship with the one she ends up with. Thanks for letting me know - I am dropping this drama :)
i think rather than a "bad boy", he's more of a "misunderstood" guy that just has bad rumours, although these…
It is indeed a shame as the novel is better than the drama! And I would not entirely blame it on chinese censorship - the direction of this drama +FLs acting is subpar.
I feel like this doesn’t have actual plot so it’s just a bunch of time fillers which isn’t good for a drama…
I really did not understand why he is covering his face all the time if he is innocent. Well, the world might think he is a murderer, but he should know if he has killed her or not.
I thought he acted well.... usually when I dislike someone everybody tends to sing praises of him/her and then…
Well, his face is concealed by a mask for nearly 75% of the 6 episodes I have watched, so I can't really make a judgment at the moment. I have not watched 'Alchemy of Souls.' Generally, I tend to stop watching the drama if an actor is praised despite delivering subpar acting.....an e.g would be the ML from cdrama Hidden Love - terrible acting, but still praised to high heavens!
To each its own. I don't think it's better than WIFTY. I had been waiting for that drama and it's the 4th one…
@xmag -I preferred the novel to this drama. The character of the FL differs in the novel - she possesses a devil-may-care, arrogant attitude that I enjoyed. She takes matters into her hands by confronting the bullies directly but in the drama, she relies on the reputation of the ML as someone to be feared when attempting to help the girl who was being bullied. This one scene alone led me to drop the drama!
The ML's performance is below average.Kim So Hyun is carrying all the load.Even the SML has better screen presence…
I thought he acted well.... usually when I dislike someone everybody tends to sing praises of him/her and then I wonder if I am watching the same show :)
