I read the book. This is issue: the writers had to create stories out of a romantic premise. The ML converted to a nice guy too quickly; hence, the conflict is gone. In the story, there was an additional conflict: he like the general more than 1/2 way through.

Yeh, this drama is not progressing in the same trajectory that it promises in the first few episodes. Hopefully, it will pick up ...

No look alike. Just another girl. I didn't read too closely but I guess when he found her corpse, iit had already decomposed so he couldn't tell. Actually, the story is so different from the drama. I find myself reading a few chapters now at the end.

In the story, he won battles so I think it's real.

I think the tone of this drama so far has been positive. I don't see sad ending!

In the book, she faked her death. I think it will be the same in the drama. It's too much of a good twist to not include in the drama.

I haven't watched Cdrama for awhile because of lack of good stories/dramas since The Double. This just brought me back! I hope it will continue to be good! The acting is amazing so far! Chemistry too!
