what a mess of a final episode... williamest's chemistry doing heavylifting the whole show does not go unnoticed, it's just unfortunate it was wasted in such a weak story/characters
ok i just finished ep8... a rating of 8.6 for this show is absolutely insane. there has been a total of ZERO character development so far and we're 8 episodes down, 2 episodes left and as it seems the next episode will cover dean's relationship with his father who we, as an audience, were not even introduced to as that relevant of a character instead of the relationship between the two MAIN leads that has literally gone nowhere since one of them realised his feelings for the other (!) despite that happening SO many eps back . the inconsistency of this show is so frustrating as well, why was dean constantly reaching out after moth said they should keep some distance despite being visibly heartbroken when moth said that and just up and left and why was moth so quick to dismiss his own words and then that call when they were acting like full-on boyfriends out of nowhere?? so much to say on this show, i was so excited when it first started and it just keeps getting worse and worse. i really like williamest but i'd really love it if people started rating stories instead of ships so they know not to write a show like this again
god i really really really hate that they are portraying digital and character art as fake art that anyone can just do, talented or not. at first i thought it was a plot device to show us mes is uptight and super judgemental, but im mid ep8 rn and it seems like the showrunners agree with that narrative? i hope they prove me wrong
oh my god, both couples have SO much chemistry. main couple was such a pleasant surprise because, i'll be honest, i wasn't the biggest fan of ping's acting in the past, but he has clearly evolved and teshow matches with him so incredibly well. thye're really cute together and i've enjoyed them so much in this. now. i wouldn't say they stole the show because they were not given enough screen time (sadly) but i was actually mindblown by how good singchimon were together, the buzz i felt every time they interacted!!!!!!! honestly, i'm praying and hoping they're open to becoming a pairing so we get to see them as mains in the future, i am just shocked at how much chemistry they have in this. idk why but i never really imagined sing in a pair and ever since chimon ended his pairing with perth i also thought we would never get to see him in a role like this again. i'm so grateful though because on top of having chemistry they're are genuinely really great actors
i'm not saying i'm dropping this, bc i'm curious to know where it's going, but i'm definitely disappointed by these first few episodes... i think it was sold to us as "they're both emotionally unavailable but getting involved with each other benefits them in different ways and their attraction to each other leads them to something more", i thought they would be casual for a long time until they realised they were having a bit too much fun together and feeling jealous (moth of dean's friends/dean of pun) meaning they had caught feelings but that's not really what happened here. that dating sequence was almost painful to watch, not only do they have nothing in common, they seem to fucking hate each other. only for them to immediately act like sad puppies after seemingly putting an end to the dates? the only fun they had was in the very beginning, but then dean opened his drawer and the message to the viewers was "he does this with everyone, it's nothing special". i understand they wanted to show them "not being able to quit each other" even though things were not going great, but they didn't show a single reason why they would feel that way besides their ulterior motives of helping ten and making pun jealous - it never felt like it was about them and their relationship. second to last scene also felt so weird, they both said such hurtful things to each other before and dean, who just acknowledged his feelings for moth 10 minutes ago (on ep3? ok...), is back to acting smug and like nothing has happened, while moth is apologetic and tells him the dates have been enjoyable BUT not because of dean but because his presence meant no one else would bother him?? i had to laugh it's so soon for dean to have feelings let alone acknowledge them, someone like him would not act like this when all he's expressed for moth is physical attraction, which he has for !everyone! i think they were trying to make this a "dean can't quit moth because he likes the chase" but moth always comes back to him so it makes no sense. and all of this is happening because ten wants pun but it honestly feels like it is irrelevant, pun and moth act strictly like friends and there is no progress whatsoever with those two. hoping things get better when mes is in the picture
i actually have been loving this drama so much, but ep11 and the whole way they went about haran finding out about the truth was so underwhelming - it made no sense that she could easily piece together that it was him texting just from knowing he was hyeok chan's roomate, and why have her be so cold and firmly refuse to hear him out at any point, only to panic and look for him when he did exactly what she asked of him? (to never show his face again) i also hate when things resolve in the last 15 minutes of a drama, they could have had haran find out a few episodes ago and have the final conflict be chan struggling with his health condition, so we could at least see them as a couple without any secrets between them, but they've chosen to do all that in the last half hour of the entire show... not only that, but i was super excited to watch the romance between hayeong and mr. yeon blossom, and i was surprised at how little screen time they got week after week, they had such a good backstory to build on and now we have one episode left with one major conflict to be resolved so i'm already giving up on them getting a satisfying story... at least hadam and yugyeom's storyline has been great - fully counting my blessings here
i love juniormark so much and i can tell they're doing their best with what they've been given but god is this show nonsensical and just... bad? what a waste of their great chemistry and acting
pls pls pls don´t give his dad a redemption arc like all other kdramas do. his dad was abusive and is the root of so many of his traumas, we must let characters live beyond their abusive families
this show is so interesting cos it really is fun to watch but god is it sooooo unrealistic like there’s NOTHING any of these men could EVER do to for me to forgive them 😭 idgaf about your background boy not even your mother is real like??!£:&@; i thought the scamming would be a lot minor or that it’d be revealed that pai knew about it all along, tim is way too deep into this lie for it to ever be forgivable (u and north are a whole different story, i just think north is too dumb for their story to make any logical sense and i’m kinda choosing to ignore them because it makes me mad lol even though i love poon and was really hoping i’d like his character)
i feel like it's been such a weak year for romcoms and this is saving it, it's so much fun!!!!! i'm surprised to see any sort of negative discourse about it, i think people are failing to understand that from jihyeok's perspective, darim is someone who ran away after bonding with him, pretending to be interested in him romantically and nearly having sex with him only to be in a commited marriage with a child waiting for her at home... she's not a good person in his head, and it makes it even worse when he had been looking for her ever since coming back and in his head she didn't even give him a thought and sees him as a fleeting affair, which is pretty demeaning. there is also a clear shift on how he treats her once he realises that this is not just a job for her, but a source of income that will help her very unfortunate situation, and you're somehow still calling him insufferable? a lot of you are forgetting that they did allegedly hire "the most incompetent candidates" and jihyeok is only taking on this position to help his own mother and intends to leave within the next 6 months, so his indifference towards their research is expected from a businessman character from a wealthy family like his. does that justify him throwing it in the pool? obviously not, but at the end of the day it was just a plot device to give them a romantic moment in the pool. this is very clearly not a serious drama lol all of these """sprouts of anger""" obviously just serve to contrast a romantic or comedic cliché that follows so you shouldn't be thinking to much about anything, it's meant to be a fun and light watch!
as an avid drama watcher of years it still baffles me how forgiving of unforgivable family members characters are in asian dramas... this man nearly killed his partner, who cares if he's his father after all he put him through??????? they need to introduce choosing yourself and protecting your own peace in these societies, i don't need redemption arcs for these characters
a bit annoyed cos i loved winnysatang in we are but as of right now i really can’t say i’m feeling any sort of romance between their characters on this show. i see on the preview that they’re gonna show attraction to one another on the next ep, but did they have to be absolute assholes to each other before that? i love enemies to lovers, but chill on the enemies part… they could’ve easily just had him tease wave and leave it at that but lava is honestly a dick to wave, i don’t even like them as friends :/ it doesn’t help that i also kinda hate peng and don’t really care for the doctor, so i’m kinda just holding out until i like at least one character on this show 😭
now. i wouldn't say they stole the show because they were not given enough screen time (sadly) but i was actually mindblown by how good singchimon were together, the buzz i felt every time they interacted!!!!!!! honestly, i'm praying and hoping they're open to becoming a pairing so we get to see them as mains in the future, i am just shocked at how much chemistry they have in this. idk why but i never really imagined sing in a pair and ever since chimon ended his pairing with perth i also thought we would never get to see him in a role like this again. i'm so grateful though because on top of having chemistry they're are genuinely really great actors

it's so soon for dean to have feelings let alone acknowledge them, someone like him would not act like this when all he's expressed for moth is physical attraction, which he has for !everyone! i think they were trying to make this a "dean can't quit moth because he likes the chase" but moth always comes back to him so it makes no sense.
and all of this is happening because ten wants pun but it honestly feels like it is irrelevant, pun and moth act strictly like friends and there is no progress whatsoever with those two.
