Just caught up to the latest episode in one go. This is such a depressing drama with three people that have no…
I actually have a different take on Rebecca. I don't think she suffered from depression. Her issue was the life long effects of a traumatic children where she and her brother were abandoned by their parents. She has very low self worth. How could she not when she grows up believing even her parents don't care enough about her.
When HRZ's mother shows her hate and demands she be kicked out of the house, it brings all those feelings of worthlessness back to the forefront. And she's overwhelmed by them. So she retreats to protect herself.
As for JQF, wasn't she the one always promising to take care of HRZ'z mom? Swearing she would remember that his mom was allergic to fish soup when Rebecca forgot. She got HRZ to marry her by pretending to be what she wasn't.
Qing fen is more obsessed with rebecca than rui zhi. She should've just straight up married rebecca and lived…
I really hope that HRZ and Qing fen divorce. They need to be free of each other.
I have a hard time feeling any sympathy for Qing fen as she intentionally inserted herself into HRZ's life. I think that maybe HRZ and Rebecca would have had a chance if Qing fen hadn't been in the picture undermining Rebecca.
But then for her whole married life Qing fen always, mistakenly, misinterpreted things HRZ did - like the birthday cake she thought was Rebecca's favorite or the wedding ring that was too small.
I can totally see where JQF comes from (and is attempting to go) and I don't blame her? Yes, it does look like…
I'm not sure what the whole dementia thing was about. When JQF asked her mother questions, her mother couldn't answer them. So something is going on with her mom.
I don't see her brother signing the insurance as 'doting'. Seemed more to me that he was doing it so he could have a peaceful life with his wife. That's what he said. He's giving his sister something so she won't send him texts which put him in a difficult place with his wife - since they both know his wife reads all his texts. That's how I see the situation anyway.
I can't like Jian Qing Fen. She clearly takes every opportunity to undermine Rebecca to He Rui Zhi. Now when her…
Sorry I have to disagree. I'm a bit obsessed with the drama and have watched each episode multiple times. From my perspective, JQF, constantly inserts herself into HRZ's life. She sees Rebecca as a rival. In so many of the conversations between JQF and HRZ, they are discussing HRZ's relationship with Rebecca and JQF tries to plant doubts. Go back and watch episode 1. Rebecca brings fish soup to HRZ's mom in hospital but his mom is allergic. Then in the car, JQF questions how could Rebecca forget his mom is allergic - what will happen if they marry - she (JQF) would never forget such a thing. All of these subtle remarks are there to plant doubt and to show herself (JQF) in a better light. The same stuff is happening in many other conversations they have.

I think Rebecca was going to HRZ's mother's house for closure. Remember how YXL says to her that she needs to confront the past to move on? I think that's what she was doing. Rebecca couldn't understand why HRZ's mother hated her so much. Maybe she wanted to go to find out. It seems to me that Rebecca gave up HRZ because his mother hated her and she didn't want to cause a rift between him and his mother.
For me, JQF is unscrupulous. You see it in all her interactions. For example, when she gets her brother to sign the insurance policy by threatening to cause trouble with his wife.
Rebecca's character is prickly but you can see how her life experiences have shaped her. I think the screenwriter has done such a good job of showing us who Rebecca is by her actions - like the scene in the PR firm where she speaks out against dropping the celebrity - then later it's revealed that her brother is an ex convict. So you see why she would believe in second chances.
All the characters are so well drawn. This really is such a high quality production. The editing is also so good. The story just unfolds.
I'm sorry but I cannot stand JQF. I think she is so fake. She manipulated the whole situation to get with HRZ.…
JQF really drives me crazy too. Interesting how she schemed to get her brother to sign those insurance policies. I really hope she gets some sort of comeuppance.
I wonder how she will insert herself between Rebecca and YXL?
Another really interesting parallel between Rebecca and JQF was revealed in episodes 3 and 4 - that they both have older brothers. But while JQF's brother takes on the family burden and supports her monetarily, Rebecca's brother is the opposite and is always causing trouble for her. Yet she will never abandon him.
I'm trying to figure out where Rebecca and YXL's relationship might go - if anywhere? They seem to have no romantic feelings for each other but Rebecca is slowly opening up and YXL seems to really want to support her.
If you mean are Rebecca and HRZ having an affair? No they are not.
No. ML and FL were in a relationship that failed ten years ago. ML went on to get married to another woman. FL struggles to move on. Story is about accepting past decisions and moving on. ML's wife is obsessed with FL.

So she really didn't win over Rebecca.
