Initially i was on d fence when the drama showing ZQ confuse n on first appearance interested in JJ as more than a brother. But now i realise the writer did it intentionally, so as to juxtapose and show the difference between LX-JJ and ZQ-JJ relationship. The difference in their action and reaction is so jarring.

Lol preview of next episode kind of clears up ZQ's love for JJ is brotherly.. when JJ asked him would he kiss her.. his reaction says it. Jj ask if to clear her head n distract her. ZQ said might as well stick her head into the fridge. That my fren is what a brother would say. But a lover would kiss you instead like LX.

Now that you've compared. JJ has lived in a healthy environment. LX and ZQ were both trying to survive day by day in Singapore and US. Both of them have not gone into detail what happened last 9yrs. Hard to have a healthy normalcy and both of them missed their real home. Just proud of them both that they succeed to make sth out of themselves, both got into the profession they wanted.

N thn JJ started dating someone too. Surely the normal person will feel anxious and the need to step on the pedal. Furthermore as LX puts it, he knows how to differentiate familial love and lover's love. He knows his heart a long time ago. As a teen he already knew that from young JianJian is the one for him, his heart's medicine. And as he indirect way of telling her, shes his cure to anxiety and sleepdisorder too. In many ways LX comes off as a person who is very self aware, focus and knows what he wants..and hes not shy to tell JJ now that hes confessed.
C dramas tends to like scene of looking at someone while sleeping and kissing somone while they r aslp without their consent i dont consider as romantic. But in the end it was a forehead kiss, a forehead kiss symbolises treasuring that person. Plus the next day he did apologize to her. So it wasnt that bad.
I love how warm LX's eyes are when he stares at JJ. And now that hes confessed, we see JJ's shyness as well as her seeing LX in a diff light. LX has put her in a position to examine her own feelings; shrd unaware of her own feelings

Ah i see. I guess they didnt notice the romantic nuances in LX's gaze, action and words while in their teens. Or d spoilers in d opening theme n ending theme. I thk as long as the script keeps the balance of both family and romance, the masses will approve

Why wld they condemn it? I thk only a vy small minority is complaining about the romance angle. I also read yu zheng rebutting against a user criticising SongWeiLong's acting paled in comparison to Steven Zhang. But overall the reviews are still in the positive.

I find him really promising too. I have tried all those dramas and initially thought it would be promising..
In love of thousand years i was so happy he was paired with Zhao Lu Si .. and then that plot.. i couldnt finish it. I also didnt like his character there.
In Oriental Odyssey, i was again so happy its with Janice Wu as shes among actresses o really like. But the plot again did Mu Le a disservice.
I just wonder is he bad at picking dramas?
Finally thought he would break this streak with Sleepless princess. The trailer was good and General Xue started off with a bang. Now the script made him a weak general and last few episodes turned him into a casual wimp.
Sorry for the rant. Im angry with the script and the direction. Im praying for som sort of saving grace soon.

Ep24 reminds me of how wonderfully balanced this drama is. One moment i had butterflies from JJ-LX moments, next heartache from HaiChao pa conversation with He Mei and again when he talked abt her to ZQ, another moment im laughing like a loon at JJ's dialogue and her reciting about storm at sea. 24episodes and its still going strong. Hoping the momentum and the heart keeps on going for the remaining 40% of the drama.

Im thkin that hes confused too. Initially he isnt shy with JJ until his fren put the idea in his head. But at least im 100% sure JJ doesnt reciprocate.. as some other user suggested a day or 2 ago.
Tan song yun gave a spoiler in d interview/game. For the question what did one character have the other doesnt. She said Li Jian Jian's love.. which Ling Xiao has but Zi Qiu doesnt.

I thk on top of it she must be embarassed cz she kissed him on the cheek n even confess thking he likes her all these years too. Thats why as bad as it is for her bubble to burst.. its time. But notice the scene where TC teased her and ZQ while he was making bfast in the kitchen.. theres still some hope (and maybe hint from writer) that she and ZQ might develop romantically in future
