I've just finished Shadow Love and it's been satisfying and fun until the very end. They really did the novel…
Exactly, I expected RC and SY to have no chemistry at all, LOL. I love LYX since her very first project and was chuffed when she got paired with RC in MJTY and they both delivered, of course. My expectations for SL were low, so I am glad that it did so many things right.
I am an absolute sucker for found family tropes. The finale wrapped up all the stories beautifully. I especially liked the fact that Duan Aodeng and Li Shuang have become an extension of Ouyang Jun's makeshift family. Also, Qiao'er got her wish for many children. Lu Xin is a one woman army, LOL. She knows no fear. She embarked on a mission to rescue Jin'an, sent the evil sorcerer to his end, went to rescue Li Shuang, stared down Duan Aodeng in the eye in his territory no less, proposed marriage to a coquettish and skittish Mo Yin... She's awesome! Finally, Duan Aodeng and Shuang'er got to live their lives for themselves and travel the world. Also, everyone who matters probably have an inkling that they are alive.
The first two episodes set the tone for the rest of the drama. If you manage your expectations as well as are able to happily suspend your disbelief, then you would be in for an addictive ride. Also, this drama does a lot of things right. If you like the genre of romance with a bit of political intrigue and fantasy thrown in, you should go for it.
I found the part where JinAn was mourning Qiaoer's death so special. So rare to spend time showing that the ML…
^This! Tbh, I was taken aback. Platonic friendships between men and women don't exactly exist in CDramas. I only ever saw such a friendship in Richard Wang's drama, When She is in Love.
Not Kawahara forcefully giving Ogawa's new home address to Takamori. Their interaction preceding that was hilarious.…
Yeah, he does seem to have developed a grudging respect for Takamori. From what I understood, he seems to have realised that he is in their way to selflessly love each other and there's no real future with Ogawa. In episode 09, both Ogawa and Kawahara have decisively ended their engagement.
