Also, due to the machinations inbuilt into the script itself prevent her to let her guard down. She realises that no matter what Nan Heng's actual motivations are (even if they are noble), the iconic scenes would happen no matter what and she's trying her damnest to prevent the tragedies that are basically predestined.

Unfortunately, I cannot remember the episode number. If I remember correctly, this happened around the time the 18th prince messed up.

I don't think you'd enjoy it because the humour in the rest of the episodes is in the same vein. If you are into serious dramas, you may enjoy the recently concluded mini, Yi Meng Ru Chu.

This!!! I used to think I am in the minority. In all my years of watching dramas from different parts of the world where English is not the first language, there has been only one instance where I have genuinely fallen in love with the English OSTs. In most, the grammar and syntax are horrendous and the lyrics too simplistic. I am not saying that everyone ought to be speaking the Queen's English. Heck, even I cannot claim absolute proficiency, nor can native speakers. Also, this is true for all languages. It's just that when songs are crafted in one's native tongue, or in a language over which one has amazing command, there's a lot of room to play with the lyrics, add nuances or make the songs beautiful pieces of poetry.

I agree with https://kisskh.at/profile/vickimion1. The idea of English songs in a CDrama, which is also costume drama is intentional to add to the hilarity. Perhaps, a nod to the ridiculous English language songs shoehorned in other (usually modern) CDramas? Or perhaps, I am reading too much into it. The overall soundtrack has been very carefully crafted/selected. It gives the viewer a sense of whimsy and chaos making the scenes even funnier.

When I first started this drama, I kept thinking how well of a job they have done with regards to music.

Hiya! Where did you watch it? Gosh, I absolutely love KGE since BTIMFL. Tbh, I prefer when celebrities keep their private and professional lives separate. I know YSW from a couple of weekend dramas, one act specials and TBS.

I gotta say this about Seo Hyun that she is a pretty good actress. It's ironic that there are idols who cannot act to save their lives and yet keep getting fantastic scripts that require acting prowess. Yet, Seo Hyun inspite of being a female idol kept getting stuck with the worst possible scripts. I had watched the initial few episodes of JAF which I stopped watching not because of the cast which was pretty decent but because of the absolutely insipid script. This drama is nothing new but its pull is real. Looking forward to the remaining episodes. 😊
