For now, yes. It is worth watching. DLW and BS are paired together. I don't know about QXX.
Hiya! That sucks. No hate to SWL but I can't bring myself to like his acting. π€·π»ββοΈ I checked out the first episode, it was fun but the action sequences left a lot to be desired. The Long Ballad and Blossom had beautiful fight choreography. *sigh* Thank you for the heads up. I will somehow manage my expectations.
I hadn't known about this particular movie. I will check it out. The confession is adorable. I prefer happy endings, glad to know the movie has one since many queer movies tend not to end on a positive note. Have you watched Kieta Hatsukoi? It's a favourite of mine.
Ep 18 people were upset about that quick death. I felt it was not only satisfying but hilarious π I am always…
I thought I was the only one! This scene was rather new. The assassination of Wei Dian was quick, cold and hilarious. Now this is one sentence I'd have never thought I'd write. ππ
Ooh. The plebeian me! π€£ A fellow Potterhead! I am chuffed! I haven't had the guts yet to throw a "Frankly my dear I don't give a damn" at anyone yet, though there have been times when I had been tempted to do so. Your family sounds so fun! Another one of my favourite confession of sorts comes from Impromptu, a 1991 movie based off of novelist George Sand's passionate affair with Frederick Chopin. "I am not full of virtues and noble qualities. I love. That is all. But I love strongly, exclusively and steadfastly." Oh, I see. Is it strange that I like watching kitten and puppy videos yet I would be driven up the wall by the potential mess if I were to actually have pets? π
Le me: I love the supporting cast and I like BSE well enough... Is this worth watching just for the supporting cast? Also, who are DLW, QXX and BS paired with and what are their roles like?
The Qiaos decided not aid the Weis because they prioritised the lives of their own people over helping the Weis…
As the user https://kisskh.at/profile/manemoj has rightly explained, Wei Shao and Manman's wedding is of political significance. The reason why Manman's grandfather was keen on this wedding was to protect his family as well as the people he governed. Lady Xu understands why the Qiao clan remained neutral all those years ago inspite of the tragic consequences for her immediate family. Being inlaws meant that Wei Shao would not be too quick to act upon his intention of finishing off the Qiao clan. Moreover, Lady Xu also wanted her grandson to let go of the hatred in his heart and overcome his tragic past.
i don't understand, why did the Qiaos betray the Weis back then?
The Qiaos decided not aid the Weis because they prioritised the lives of their own people over helping the Weis who were pretty much losing to the onslaught led by Bianzhou's vicious general Li Su. The Weis believed that they and the Qiaos had a verbal agreement that if either were to be attacked the other would come to its rescue. The Qiao patriarch had his reservations and technically did not quite acquiesce to this proposition. Where the Qiaos went wrong is that they decided not to even inform the Weis in fear of offending the Chens of Bianzhou. Also, Manman's father, the younger of the two Qiao brothers had wished to aid them while her uncle did not. Their father who had a keen interest in divination, was in two minds. However, when Manman accidentally dropped two beans on the ground, her grandfather noticed that the beans were not in harmony and took it as a sign from the heavens to not enter the war. Bear in mind that Yanzhou is known for its wealth and not its military prowess. Hence, due to all the aforementioned reasons, the Qiaos chose to be neutral.
What?!?! I thought the grandmother was a smart lady. She handled that conversation with WY with about as much…
I thought so too. But I guess, time was of the essence and both WY and Lady Xu were well accustomed to being on their guard with one another. She just chose to rip the band aid off since he had finally gotten to know about his origins.
He was so adorably proud of his choice of gift. π€£

P.S.: Really love your reviews. π

Do you? That's nice. There are stuff I would like to use from Derry Girls but it may come off as forced, LMAO. I do on the rare occasion use movie/TV show lines to get out of annoying situations. You'd be surprised that they work if used correctly. "Bazinga!" was a friends' favourite response for a while. π€¦ββοΈπ
Jerry Maguire was my introduction to RenΓ©e Zellweger. She is a riot in the Bridget Jones' Diary series. π Most Hollywood actors now have as much charm and grace as a bulldozer. *sigh*
Do you have any other favourite scenes of confession/proposal from literature or media? My most favourite is from Good Wives, the sequel to Little Women when Laurie proposes to Amy.
P.S.: Pardon my curiosity, does your username have something to do with you liking furry pets?
