as far as i can tell, the teacher has a wife who he pushed on wheelchair, and theres that scene where shortly before he decided to go drown himself in sea, he brought his wife up from the wheelchair and they both walked into the sea, right?

then why did after that they only mentioned the teacher committed suicide? every scene after that never mention the wife's fate. shen yi also only look at the teacher's body. they never mention the wife ever again after that. did i miss something?

this drama is too heavy on the politics it's almost like a turn off. barely can understand whats going on with the politics side lmao. but the sad scenes still haunt me till today, it's too sad

im sure you have watched it since then. most of the part from the drama doesnt have anything to do with the long night, but there's a bit of spoiler from the long night regarding yan liang. it's such a major plot in the burning ice too, so knowing the aftermath in the long night kind of killed the suspense a bit for me

listen, i really like how she came from the lowest barrel of her life, but.... i really like her best friend. the one who sticks with her no matter how thin or thick, the true bff. it's really a bit in distaste for me for her and he han to end up catching feelings. i really dislike that part, i hate how tang jing ends up so sad and hurt due to that (partially bc the situation that he han is with the FL all the time also thanks to tang jing). i understand that you really can't help the budding of feelings and can't choose who you catch that feeling with. i know it seems like she didn't end up with he han, but idk since i stopped watching the time it happened

also if your message is for her to grow independent and strong, why make her depend on him all the time huh? the only true strong independent woman here is tang jing, ironically. she can only get back on her feet due to he han and tang jing helping her all the time (getting her job, giving her connection etc)

i like the beginning. but unfortunately, the romance part is what killed me to continue watching.

yeah the summary is kind of vague, wish they would namedrop the chars instead of being very ambiguous. if youre looking for romance, this isnt really it i guess (their....romantic plots are kind of... toxic?), even tho i admit the kisses are kinda hot for cdrama standards haha

im seriously wondering here, is the yan liang from this drama is the same yan liang from the long night and burning ice? i know that the long night and burning ice are the same person even tho the actors are not the same since their story is kind of continuing, but i need to know if the kid yan liang here is basically the future yan liang in both dramas.

i only know that the kid!yan liang aspires to one day become a cop, and thats what the future yan liang's job is, but if he one day becomes a policeman, that just proves that the theory ppl had about yan liang dead and only chao yang's delusion is not true, correct?

ah no you got it wrong. ML is definitely yan liang, but he has no romantic story here. hui ru is not the FL either, she and guo yu are the one who have "romantic plot" going on here, as in their love story is driving the plot somewhat. i won't tell you the spoiler here, but the drama is mainly just crime story with romance as kiiind of a motive for the two characters i mentioned here

and yes if you read the summary, the white collar man that's mentioned here is guo yu. yan liang is the detective

if you consider what guo yu and hui ru as romance, then yes. there are some kisses from those, i don't expect at all
