3.0/10 - It's so cool, but so bad.

There's no doubt this is cool. Cool shots. Cool music. Cool fights. Cool. Cool. Boring. Yep, super boring. It's because it's still hasn't taken the time to develop its leads or the story. Now I'm nervous that the first episode is the end goal. That the 3 months prior is the whole story. Or most of it or . . . . I don't know. There was actually a point where there's cool scene transition happened that I thought the take down was happening. Instead we see the target and then it's all just about him. We go back to the team and find out they're just barely getting together to chat. It's annoy! The pacing is off and I feel like the writing isn't even trying. Just toss in a few chool transitions and music. Smiling team members with slow motion walking and we've got a cool show! There is some minor attempts to get some information across about the team members, but I still don't know them nor care about them.Clearly Su Hyuk has a big end plan. His reaction to the picture at the prosecutors home and so on. I'm just not convinced if Player is up to doing anything. There's another drama that this rocky start reminds me of. You're All Surrounded. A drama that never paid off, but I did enjoy the characters. I'm just nervous for Player. This the writers first work and I'm actually really bored. With an action drama!I need character development and an actual interesting plot that's not . . . whatever boring this is.

3.0/10 - Yikes, still a really bad start.

There is so much potential with Player. It's just really a jumbled mess as the script muddles around trying to create it's beginnings. Really I'm not going to nit pick it here.Ah Ryung is getting more time to be a great asset. She's a pick pocket, lock picker, and an ace driver. She's got a lot to add the team which is great. Though I'm a bit worried they're gonna set her up to like Su Hyuk. I'd prefer it if she had romantic attraction to someone outside the group if she has to have a romance at all.A lady Su Hyuk that seems to be an ex-something clearly states to Jin Woong "Don't you know? Everything he says is a lie." I can see Su Hyuk will fish In Gyoo in with his frustrations with the law. The people constantly getting off due to the law being twisted into their favor.I'm just really disappointed with the narrative. The characters are underdeveloped as the plot tries to find its legs.

3.0/10 - I was excited . . . but . . .

I was excited . . . but . . . this was a very rough start. Not to mention it did something that I have come to loath in TV series/movie storytelling. Where we see the "team" or key event working well, then boom! Flashback to them first teaming up. In this case it's 3 months earlier. I know it's more a personal thing now, but I do feel like it takes a lot away from the storytelling. You can start at the beginning and grab viewers with the characters so that we care about them before all the flashy stuff happens. Also, I hope Players isn't going to be another lame drama that promises me an amazing woman lead to only have her be an accessory here and there. Krystal as Ah Ryung intrigues me. She already looks so suited to the role of bad@$$ getaway driver. However, they just had her pop up on the road to scare some police and then do some minor surveillance. So far she's just looked pretty and isn't part of the gang. I'm hoping she'll get more developed and actually be part of the crew. I don't want such promising strong woman character to be lost. I mean how often are we gonna be given a woman like this in a drama? Hmmmm. Not only that I don't want her to just tale people and drive flashy off to the side. That's silly. I also felt like the story was not put together. It even skipped along weird and I wondered what the heck had happened. What this new scene had to do with it and so on. The feel of the drama is cool. I'll give it that. Enough forced chic with campy fun to make it feel genuine. It just needs a lot of work. I don't care for any of the male leads at this point. They're basic stereotypes of the genre.

9.0/10 - I love a solid ending!

"Who cares? Do everything you want to do."So I had to go back and rewatch the kiss scene again just to make sure they really had a good one! It picks up weak and all the flashbacks were the tame kiss. I guess it's not good form to flashback to the good kissing! Ha-ha! It was all made up for with Kyung Suk meeting Mi Rae's parents through video chat! I loved the whole thing and that her dad get sober enough to tell Kyung Suk that there are surveillance cameras all over the house!!!!!!It's also an interesting twist that other people can see that Kyung Suk is more in love and that he's worried someone will take Mi Rae away from him. Though I thought it was really cute his name tag was "I'm Taken". I want to know who's idea that was! At the end of the epiosde I enjoyed Kyung Suk's frank talk about his future plans and that while they're young. At least for now it's forever. It's a sweet and hopeful feeling. This episode did a fabulous job balancing out all the characters and giving viewers an ending. For everyone. Though I was super disappointed that Woo Young and Hyun Jung just got like these "tease ending" that they might end up together. Also, that Eun became such a pivotal character, but we really don't get to know her. We finally have discovered the real Soo Ah and it's sweet that despite everything Eun wants to help her. I would have loved to know what in her life made her such a wonderful person to offer help. Really this is the best closure episode I have ever seen. Besides my complaints above we know where everything stands and that there is still more journey ahead. The only reason this wasn't a perfect ending for me was the acid throwing fake out. I'm not sure about everywhere, but here there's been a rash of men throwing acid onto women. Mainly their faces. Husbands, exes, and stalkers. It's scary. So I truly thought it had happened, only to find out it was water. It was scary and it . . . kind of made it's point. It just felt off. The true power of this episode is in the quote form above. Where Mi Rae realizes people don't really care about her as much as she thinks, and everyone has their issues/worries. It's up to you to live how you want and enjoy life. She's new and old face Mi Rae have met to make a beautiful person. Much like Eun said, "People made your scars, and other people can help you heal them". For one rare occasion I am completely happy with this final episode for such a fantastic drama! The ratings are high, but I still feel like this is a sleeper drama that more people need to try!

10/10 - YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! >_<

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! >_< Thank you Drama Gods!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The kiss this drama deserved! Dramas bless us everyone! That up there was my update for this episode! So I'll start this review with the KISS I have been great anticipating for this drama. I had fish kiss fears so bad. While the kiss started off making me afraid it took off and it made my life! It's not the steamiest one out there, but it's not a dead cold fish kiss of disappointment. It fit both characters well and I am so glad that after Kyung Suk said "You're just you. Tat doesn't matter." about Mi Rae's face before and plastic surgery there was no way he could have not kissed her! Especially after Mi Rae says he must really like her. >_< Such a romantic moment. This episode was trying to kill me starting with that sweet back hug and all that talk about scents. Then this kiss! Oh, and let us not forget the cake Kyung Suk bought to commemorate their first real relationship and everything. It was disappointing not getting to see Kyung Suk's reaction to the engraved heart on the perfume set she got for him.True to the quality of it's writing Mi Rae did not take long to come to her senses. Old Mi Rae and New are merging together. Remembering the girl who would chase of her bullies and didn't jsut take it. I was so happy how she stood up to everyone. It was nice seeing the girl come to the "rescue" and Kyung Suk giving her a chance to do so. His idea to make good middle school memories was so sweet and I loved how beautiful this episode turned out! Ending up her parents house . . . hmmm. They were already alone at her apartment before. I wonder if this is just a more official way of saying they're serious? This episode showcases Soo Ah's fall from grace. People are seeing the real her. Thankfully we're not left in the dark about her just being a disturbed individual. Viewers are shown her past. Abandoned by her parents, for reasons not shared, her revealed outer beauty is what she clung to. The creep taking pictures of her also shows the pressure put on her simply because she looks beautiful. I've been waiting for My ID is Gangnam Beauty to show us Soo Ah's own troubles. It's the beauty of this show that on the surface everyone is a stereotype, but they have their own struggles. Most intriguing is Eun's interest in helping Soo Ah. It's also clear that other are going to rarely and help her with the pictures issue. Which is very moving. With one more episode I have faith that My ID is Gangnam Beauty is going to give an ending of people coming together. I just know it!

8/10 - The pacing of this show is perfection!

The realistic quality of My ID is Gangnam Beauty is so great. Sure there are plenty of "drama" basics, but how much better is that with the real life quality added in! Kyung Suk's emotions are clearly out there on his sleeve. He doesn't care who knows and he's not embarrassed. It's refreshing. Even from telling that brief "stalker" on the bus that he is Mi Rae's boyfriend. Clearly if Mi Rae hadn't gotten embarrassed he would have just rolled with it. It's so refreshing to have a lead be honest and unembarrassed about his true feelings. Mi Rae is wondering if he has feelings for her because he's putting out there. I'm so happy that while at first she's shy about the idea, she realizes that it might be true! Yes, girl you are more than worthy! No doubt!Kyung Suk is being asked by Soo Ah if he has a girlfriend and Mi Rae is asked if she has a boyfriend by Woo Young. It's clear that no matter who asks her out Mi Rae will feel self conscious about her plastic surgery. I felt very happy that Woo Young said, "So what? You did it to be beautiful and you are!" Soo Ah is really using all her tricks to get close to Kyung Suk. I feel like soon we should know why she has to have all the male attention. It feels off that none of the other guys attention can waver. Or if it's just Kyung Suk as the ultimate prize? It's so sweet how Kyung Suk likes Mi Rae. It's "in secret", but at the same time he's clearly not hiding anything. I know I'm being contradictory. What's more is how sweet Kyung Suk is with his sister. Despite what they thought happened with their mother and their cold father they love each other. Even with Kyung Suk's cold personality he loves and looks after his sister. My heart was melting right a long with Mi Rae is he cut that food in half to share with his sister! It also broke my heart to hear Kyung Suk's sister talk about how horrible Hye Seong is. Then to realize that Hye Seong had no clue that her Ex had lied to the point like. That I'm so glad she strong armed he Ex and made him tell the truth! Plus, I loved seeing her take on the role of being a mother to Kyung Suk. It's never too late to mend fences. This episode was also brillaint in showing the first and second love interests fight for Mi Rae's attention. Kyung Suk is clearly jealous like any human and I loved how the writing made it that way. There's no magic to it. From being petty and even arm wrestling Woo Young. Hyun Jung clearly knows both men like Mi Rae. I know she's probably hoping that kyung Suk will win her heart so she can have Woo Young. I am very much rooting for Woo Young and Hyun Jung to be an item! Fighting!I love that Mi Rae's parents got to meet Kyung Suk! Now they've met both love interests. So I feel like both men have pretty equal footing now. What's more impressive is that Soo Ah is actually showing her true colors. I mean wow! I can't believe that she would possibly believe that Mi Rae would be too stupid to realize the kind of knives that Soo Ah was tossing. If the writing quality holds up Mi Rae will see what's happening!

7/10 - The character depth is impressive!

I can't believe the character deapth of My ID is Gangnam Beauty! It's so impressive! From Kyung Suk telling Woo Young his weird and over bearing. When in reality Woo Young is the normal one and Kyung Suk is weird! I love how practical this drama is. I love that it's shedding light on the characters and pointing out flaws that make them so human. More realistic then the stereotypes we've come to idolize. Ah!!! Papa Mi Rae doesn't want men to be interested in his daughter!! He-he. I guess when guys weren't interested he didn't have to worry. Though I love how exceted Mi Rae's mom is for her daughter to finally be appreciated the way she deserves. I love seeing more of Kyung Suk's mom. Hye Seong is a trully kind and thoughtful person. Which is exactly what the CEO moms in dramas need to represent them. It was impressive how well Hye Seong and Kyung Suk bonded. She understands not to push. Even though she was robbed of time with him by her husband. She understands he has freedoms as well. It's also funny watching Kyung Suk deal with money issues for the first time. His excitement over finding that money on the ground, but his pride woudn't let him pick it up! I'm one of those people that never misses a penny and if I find bigger amounts I am so happy to the Money Gods. (No really if I find a quarter it's like a one the lotto!!) Kung Suk will soon be one of us *cough*me*cough*. Wow, I can't believe Kung Suk's dad would actually go so far as to stop paying for his tuition. Wouldn't that be the straw that broke the camel's back. You think the man would calm down since he was the one that blurted about hitting his wife and just kept digging his own hole. I hope he doesn't stop paying tuition, but I think the man might be that stupid. It also saddened me when he got that expensive purse for his daughter and let her have her things back. Because she was no fool. The instant he told her to tell him if "that woman" contacts her she new he'd only been trying to buy her. Not be kind. What's more is how much I like Kyung Suk for knowing his feelings. He might be awkward and inexperienced with people, but he knows that he likes Mi Rae. I felt so happy when he said, "I don't want any other guy carrying you."

8/10 - I knew there was more to this mom!

There's very few dramas in which the male and female leads have real conversation. Be honest with yourself. it's true. Especially for this genre/type. So when Kyung Suk admits that he admires Mi Rae for how she stood up to her middle school bully I was moved! So moved! Then as they talk he states that they are friends. That he's no longer an outcast!! Oh, my!!Of course Soo Ah is picking up on how much more crafty she needs to be. Mi Rae is starting to suspect how Soo Ah is acting. While Soo Ah is being even sneaker on how she gets to Kyung Suk, and it does work a bit here. Even makes him question his assumptions about her. It's impressive, but we clearly still need more on Soo Ah's motivations.I debated about whether I should give this episode an 8/10. The pacing is slower, but that is due to everything coming out. Mi Rae allows Kyung Suk to make up his own mind about whether or not he wants to see his mother in the hospital. She doesn't pressure him. Tells him what she's seen and that after this she won't bring it up again. The power of this episode is seeing Kyung Suk memories of an unstable mother who cheated on her husband comes to light. Realizing the man that she supposedly had an affair with never happened. That her manic episode was after she lost her dream and her grief over it. That his father kept her away, and so much more. The realization that his mother was a modern woman, with a traditional husband. The confrontation with both parents is moving and so well handled. With some shocking dialogue leading up to a moment that I will share, but not spoil."I have no intention of living my life in a way you've decided for me. I'm doing my best right now!" - Hye Seong
"You're just going to keep talking back, aren't you? Way to talk back when a man is talking to you!" - Sang WonThis whole scene and story behind Hye Seong resonates well. Around here it's the wife's duty to at home and take care of the kids. If she does have a job then it's still her duty. Most of the time how dare she ask for help from the man! Standards that have long needed to change are addressed. Because this isn't just a Korean standard, this a world wide. Hearing Hye Seong confess that she never thought she'd be faced with the decision of choosing between work (her dream) and her children. Thankfully all this heaviness is balanced by the healing in Mi Rae's family! You can truly see the amazing bond that Mi Rae has with her dad. Especially when they go out for karaoke. It's hilarious to see her mom be excited, but know what's ahead and be exhausted from it! It's so cute! I love dramas where the parents actually have a great relationship with their kids. Overall this has been an impressive journey. Are the stereotypes of a drama are here, but we're being taken on a journey to see the deeper meaning being it all. I love the balance between the real issues and the joys.

7/10 - This was odd, but it worked out.

It was a very interesting choice to break this up. We're left at the end of episode 4 thinking that Mi Rae had decided to support Hye Seong and ambush Kyung Suk with a meet up. However, this episode immediately picks up with Mi Rae and Hyun Jung walking home. Mi Rae spots a stalker and pursues him. While smart Hyun Jung calls the cops. Soon after Mi Rae's father shows up at the station. It's all revealed that he decides to pay for Mi Rae's surgery, and he's also been following her home at night to make sure she's safe. All adorable and all kind of crazy. It works though. As her dad still can't accept her face. Then boom we're back with Mi Rae facing off with Kyung Suk. She's butting in and he doens't like it, but she's sharing her story. So he understands where she's coming from. Thank the dramas she didn't ambush him and betray his trust!! This is a drama trope I have always hated. Instead they talk and bond. It's so moving. Friendship and trust blossoming. *tossing rose petals in air* It was also adorable watching Kyung Suk worry about a tipsy Mi Rae. I truly wonder is it true you have to drink more to build up a tolerance? I feel like that's not true. I'm a lightweight and I think my tolerance has only gone down hill. Either way it's so cute! Dangerous, but cute. The other main focus is who the seniors in the chemistry department treat all of the girls. From fat shaming, age, beauty ratings and so on. It's cruel to see them talking so frankly about them like that. Like objects that they're picking of the shelves, but nothing is just so and they want more-more. To see the girls discomfort and need to protest. But they can't as these men sexualize, judge, and put them in their place. Women should serve the food. It's a woman's place. Tradition. The epitome is when the "uniforms" for the fair come and every girl is uncomfortable with them. It's a familiar scene. Also, it's a familiar reaction from women. I get it. While I am the loud protester who's first instincts are to bring that jerk down, I've been institutions where you have to swallow your words until you can deal with it later. Now that Mi Rae is interacting with others she's noticing that these women she thinks are beautiful are being judged and harassed. That it's happening to everyone. I am impressed that My ID is Gangnam Beauty is delving deeper. It's not just the surface of a girl who was once a ugly, but now beautiful. We're addressing judgements that all women face and are judged with. I'm curious and hopeful that we'll get to see another side to Kyung Suk's mom.

7/10 - We're entering dangerous territory.

We're entering dangerous territory. Where every aspect of this drama is starting to connect. Such as Mi Rae's suicide attempt. It was briefly brought up here and there, but connecting her savior to Kyung Suk's mom is an interesting turn. Especially since there's already a connection to Mi Rae idolizing her for working in the perfume industry and the work she's done. So taking that extra step is risky. However, I do know that such close ties can sometimes be awesome when done right. Just in Dramaland it usually isn't. Things are slowing down as many more character sand plot lines connect. However, I'm still captivated by the story. I just how there's more to the mom story than her just being ambitious and having a mental break. Because I think My ID is Gangnam Beauty has way more to it then just being standard. So despite my worry this is still a super solid show! Soo Ah is very crafty and sneaky. I'd say a true snake. There's more to her and I hope we get to explore that so she's not just a beautiful villainess. I think she's sloppy, or the director is, there should be a cut in her jeans. If it got her those jeans should be cut. Also, I hope it's a gross exaggeration about all those guys coming running to see if Soo Ah was hurt. Cause that's just crazy!I'm still baffled by Mi Rae's dad pouting. I think the issue is that we don't know how much he knew about her being bullied and how hard school was. I get that he thought she was beautiful through and through. So far we know that he's upset that they just did it. Mi Rae's choice to take those pictures like she used to hiding her face from the camera. It's a smart move. Showing her dad that she's still his daughter, but now she's hiding her face for him. I am so surprised how amazing My ID is Gangnam Beauty has been! Normally a show stumbles off from the start or by episode 4 maybe has lost some of it's steam. Not the case here! My ID is Gangnam Beauty has truly blown me away. Because a part of me doubted that this would be good or could bring anything new or solid to the table. It's managed to bring serious topics to the table and still be a fun and warm show.

7/10 - Ah! I love Mi Rae and her best friend together!

Ahhhh! I truely love seeing Mi Rae and Hyun Jung together! It's so great to have a wonderful girl friendship. The fact that I have to say "girl" in front of friendship makes me said. Because let us all be honest, and it's not just dramas, it's rare to have women being friends in things. Makes me sad! But that's why I love Mi Rae and Hyun Jung! At first it was still weighing on me that Mi Rae seemed more concerned with the Dog Senior (now the Mop!) telling her she was plastic. I suppose if I looked at the actress I think maybe she's had work done, and it would be smart for this role to pick an actress who has had work done. It doens't look terrible or anything, and quite honest I could care less. I would think in Korea it would be pretty normal, but I think in general looks are picked on period. Back on track. It bothered me that she wasn't more worried about her father's reaction. Though later in the episode it is addressed. I think his father is more shocked than anything. Maybe he couldn't see the bullying and it's affect on his daughter. He just saw the studious student. As a father how could he ever see is daughter as ugly. It's sweet, but also telling. He went through school too and had to have a clue to how cruel the boys can be. I think it was finally addressed though. Also through her mother's eyes as she comforts Mi Rae. Letting her know that no one is just breezing through life. We all have our worries. We see Kyung Suk mom has popped up and we get to see into his father's life a bit. I like that both leads are getting rich stories and we get an extra peek not only into their lives, but family members. Someone who is clearly on getting some basic setup is Woo Young. He's the TA. Clearly has enough at this point that we know he's nice and interested in Mi Rae. I hope that's not all the second lead is getting. It's also clear Kyung Suk and Mi Rae are good for each other. Why questioning Mi Rae about why she got surgery he relaizes that she's judging other women's faces. He points it out. Maybe in a way that makes it seem like she's shallow. He reflects on it and maybe realizes that she thinks that way because of the way she was treated. I clung to Mi Rae being bullied, but on reflection judging the other women on their looks and not their personalities is what lead to Me Rae being bullied. It was nice seeing both Kyung Suk and Mi Rae grow from each other and become better. It's refreshing. I really enjoyed their lunchtime together. "Overly self-conscious type." Kyung Suk also points out how self conscious and cautious she's being. When the real Mi Rae has always been tough and bold. She's still getting used to the "new" her. I can't wait until the new and old Mi Rae merge together! It's weird how careless Mi Rae was made. So she could give Soo Ah the idea to self hurt herself for attention. Which seems to kind of be backfiring. It's interesting seeing Soo Ah work. It's calculated. Clearly there's more to her, I'm guessing poor or something. Judging from her faking where she lives. I just hope Mi Rae can start seeing through Soo Ah. Especially realizing how contrived the whole flask drop was. (Looks more like a beaker to me.) Clearly Hyun Jung can see through Soo Ah easily, and some other people are commenting on certain things, so it's not to hard to go from there. After all Hyun Jung is her best friend! I hope she takes Hyun Jung on this perfume thing and not Soo Ah. (That would be so annoying!) Side notes: The whole thing with the TA, Kyung Suk, and Me Rae was some epic arm grabbing. An arm grab triangle! Also, those lab classes ALWAYS have safety glasses. ALWAYS.

7/10 - Keep it a secret . . . my old face.

Mi Rae: "Keep it a secret."
Kyung Suk: "What?"
Mi Rae: "My old face. Keep it a secret."At first I thought Kyung Suk might only be interested in Mi Rae because she clearly is avoiding him. She clearly isn't interested in him like the other women. So judgemental of me. I know! It became clear that he was clearly aware of Mi Rae in middle school. Aware of her enough from the bus stop and her dancing feet. (Feet don't lie!!! I know so cheesy!) To remembering what perfume she wore. Even though she snapped at him due to the bullying. (I can't even imagine being so bullied that you have to defend wearing perfume!) He saw her. He sees her now.I feel the warm and fuzzies!I also enjoy that the episode takes the time to reveal bits of Kyung Suk live. It's always been a pet peeve of mine when dramas leave the male leads as a "mystery". AKA what i not fondly call a blank slate male lead. There's a peek into his life with his brother that let's us know he's well off, but has a cold family life. His bother and sister are warm. His dad a cold politician and mother issues. She's alive, but dead to him. When is the last time a drama has let that much out about a male lead in one episode. No really. There is one thing that felt very odd from the first episode, and still does. Mi Rae's father doesn't know she's received plastic surgery. Her mother hasn't told him. So he's walking up to her welcoming orientation (or whatever it was) and Mi Rae's mother still hasn't told him! I mean, what did she think was going to happen? The odd thing is after the heartbreak of them meeting and her father rejecting her, it doesn't haunt Mi Rae after. Or at least from that moment on in this episode. It's the one thing that truly feels off with the writing at this point. The villains of the show set in. Sexual harassment. Especially from the Dog Senior. To the stealthy Soo Ah. The natural beauty "superstar!" Soo Ah is clearly a person who has had attention from her beauty her whole life. MI Rae is her competition. If someone like Mi Rae she clearly can't have that. She needs to take that attention away and put it on herself. Basically she's tricky. Stealthy tricky. There is something that really bothered me this episode! Mi Rae tells her best friend, Hyun Jung, that she has a friend that will stay by her no matter what happened. I thought she was gonna say "It's you Hyun Jun!" Instead it was Soo Ah. I know Soo Ah came on really nice and supportive to Mi Rae, but I would think it was clear to Mi Rae that her friend has been there for everything. She trusted her with her plastic surgery secret. Hyun Jun didn't seem that upset with the revelation, so maybe it wasn't as crazy as I thought. I don't know.Soo Ah is clearly a smooth operator. I mean the turn downs she executed are so pro. Clearly she's had many confessions and also played around with many peoples emotions. I'm very curious how this will all play out. Not to mention that I have no doubt she will definitely leak Mi Rae's secret once she finds out. So I wasn't sure if they could tell if Mi Rae had work done. The actress looks natural to me. So I assume it's either assumptions or when dramas have a stunning woman as the lead who they say is ugly. *sighs* Though I guess Mi Rae didn't say nae or say about whether she did have work done when Soo Ah was playing games. I really love the feel of this drama. It has some strong themes, but it balances out with a feel good quality. It's also comforting that this second episode was a pretty solid follow up. I hope this drama can continue to keep being better than I could have anticipated. Stories on bullying deserve to have great quality.

10/10 - One of the best first episodes I have ever seen.

My ID is Gangnam Beauty is probably one of the best first episodes I have ever seen. Even if the show deteriorates from here, this first episode has left an impression. Not to mention I think it gets all of its important points across well and makes its point. The stress of beauty. Or more correct the stress of being a woman. We see Mi Rae harshly judging other women's faces. Casting unfavorable light on her characters. So materialistic! Then we follow along as it's clear she's getting a new face. This is all just so materialistic and it could have come off unwell for the story. However, as we follow Mi Rae the story of her past leading up to that moment becomes clear. Even as she strapped down to the table and the risks of having plastic surgery are clearly laid before her. As a child she was "fat" and we see her dealing with these boys bullying her. She even says she was strong willed and didn't take it lying down. The more she fought back the harsher their treatment became. Until she took her strong will into helping her lose weight and keep it off. Believing the potential she had. Then after clearly being a top student she decides to confess to her crush. Which leads her down the harsh rabbit hole of being "ugly". Spending her entire youth under such cruelty. Maybe that boy's rudeness is what started it or everyone was waiting to bash her with it.What's even more stunning is the director's choice to use shots and techniques so that the viewers can never see Mi Rae's original face. So that we can not judge her. We're only left with the person that she is to her core, and her new face.A new face, and a new life." Is what Mi Rae wants and her mother promises. Really what Mi Rae wants is to be average and to simply not be bullied. Her only dream. After surgery she is a knock out beauty though. Now the other side of the coin is turned. A different kind of attention. What I do love is that Mi Rae's mom isn't her only support. She also has a great friend, Hyun Jung. Who she trusted with the secret of her surgery and her new face. I'm excited to see a great friendship between girls in a drama. Speaking of that different kind of attention you can see Mi Rae waiting for people to take her out. She starts to enjoy life as a beauty. Finally able to show of her dance moves, which were unacceptable for her to show off as an "ugly girl". When the other shoe drops. Already having to take sexual harassment from a senior. Who actually gets her alone and blocks her in a room. The attention of being too good looking starts. The reality that no matter what you look like as a woman it's tough. You're harassed if your too beautiful, not beautiful. Average is better, but the reality is there will always be harassment and judgement.I'm making this drama seem deep and dry. It is deep and I believe it has very strong messages. It is also very fun and funny. A good time. It has a promising male lead that has a past with Mi Rae's character. He noticed her from his brief stent at her middle school. Enough so that he might actually recognize her by her dance foot work. He's a stunner, a person who destined for natural photo shoots where every he goes. (Mi Rae's thoughts.) What I like is he isn't just an aloof male lead. He's pretty clever. Rebuffing the "natural beauty" Soo Ah's attentions on him by getting other guys to help her sober up! I feel like the writers won't leave us, or Mi Rae, guessing about whether or not he knows her. What I find odd is that after Mi Rae's plastic surgery they don't tell her dad. It's clear he's very proud of her and loves her exactly the way she is. He can't see the issues in her life. They haven't told him yet, and I feel like that could end very poorly.Overall I think this is a wonderful start and I truly hope the rest of the drama can keep up with such a solid beginning. *****I originally hastily slapped on a 8/10 rating, but I know it deserved a 10/10. Because this first episode was incredible!

5/10 - Now back to our other jealous femal

Now back to our other jealous female. Xuan Nu has been quiet, too quiet. Because her son is dead/not awake. So now she's scheming and it's bad!!!!!! To be honest I thought Bai Qian told Li Jing exactly who she was, but apparently not? *sighs* So Ye Hua has put all the pieces together and now Xuan Nu has. The only thing Xuan Nu doesn't know is that Bai Qian was also Su Su. Still. Xuan Nu is on the war path of destruction to awaken her child and it somehow involves Mo Yuan body. *sighs* Snake is very smart in this episode to protect her son protected. So now everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, is going to be in the mortal realm for this next tragedy. Not to mention Su Jin will be plotting against Bai Qian as she tries to help Snake's son and Xuan Nu is doing something with Mo Yuan and Riceball. Honestly this episode was a bit of a let down in a lot of parts. The two women conniving again, Li Jing not putting things together, and now we're starting up in the mortal realm big time.

7/10 - Ah, the deception continues.

Su Jin has truly become one of the worst characters ever. I can't stand to watch her. Yet, I can't help admiring the characters constant evil planning. Or the fact that she never really grows. At first I thought she had learned her lesson about plotting and what not. Nope. She's just gotten sneakier. Maybe. So Bai Qian thinks Ye Huan's end game is to find her Master. She's on full alert against that. All the while towards the end of the episode she gets a flashback to her mother talking about her not remembering things. Which to be far could happened right before she woke up. So I wonder if she will get her memories back. Personally I don't think the writer is good enough to get past the torture she endured as a human. It will fill hollow. To me clearly. Ye Hua's trails have definitely changed him. Sure his mood swinging, but at least he is actually happy and warm. He still needs "proof" that Bai Qian is Su Su, but he truly knows she is. Which will play into him constantly pushing to find Master Mo Yuan. In turn keeping Bai Qian on guard. It's clear there a too many similarities for her not to be Su Su. On that note I wouldn't want to leave the Fox Den or Bai Qian's people. They stood up for their queen and recognized evil when it came to cause trouble. How awesome! Now there's Ghost Realm creatures made of magic trying to mess with Die Fen and the other disciple. What is going on? Who is trying to stir the pot and create a mess. Not to mention will my dreams of Die Fen and Yan Zhi meeting and becoming a romance come true!!!??
