It was an ok experience for me, The story was engaging but not addicting. At the end I just wanted to know how it ends and the climax wasn't like a climax at all as there was no build up and it ended quite fast as well.
Romance was satisfactory, more or less I didn't find the FL very attractive which well bogged down the whole experience.
The romance is the only saving grace of this drama, otherwise it is just too unrealistic especially how it loses its way towards the end.
The writer could have continued the implausible troupe of woman empowerment in the medieval era but they had to push it so much that even immersion gets sacrificed. The beaten troupe of only the FL family featuring strong women among literally no one in their city. No suppression or adversity resulting in many deaths, is already accepting being yet another wish fulfilment fantasy.
All that is forgivable, but not FL made dumb or the King spineless, to progress the plot.
Essentially its impossible that she would behave in such a way towards the king when she has such business acumen. Not to mention she lives in the era where the King can murder your family with a made up reason, which people will accept as literal word from god. She literally learned zilch from her grandpa's exploit.
All of those scenes were like she got teleported to the modern world. It was actually baffling for her to not get beheaded on the spot. The plot armour was too omnipotent that, what should have been a show about FL's superb manoeuvring, was instead devolved into an unbelievable situation.
Powerful men and women were not so tolerant at the time, more often than not, such outspokenness would only result in a swift death. Such was the "normal" and expected standard.
Aside from the romance, everything else was just meh. Many scenes that should have been included were skipped perhaps because of low budget. Even the ending battle was largely a fluke.
Cliches that didn't fit were forcefully fit in the flow by creating the required scenario so much so that many felt out of place and predictable.
On the romance side, all three couples were good, first one lacked sizzle. The FL was overly assertive which imo didn't fit the overall vibe. Many instances of her over indulgence were ignored in the plot line even though she was in such a hostile setting.
The second couple was endearing in a different sense which even though didn't feature much sizzle but it had its own charm. The third one with least screen time also sparked my interest.

In SK honor trumps punishment for anything. The crimes were being committed since 1964 and the whole society and government apparatus was protecting and ignoring them. Some kids allegedly even died. When they were prosecuted in 2005, only two got punishment of under 2 years... Rest got suspensions and got reinstated...
Before this movie, the book its based off, came, and invigorated nothing. So they made a movie which finally did and changed laws a few years later.
SK has had such incidents happening all over but they are discovered too late whereas the number of victims or perpetrators reaches a staggering figure. Like another incident that was discovered after years was happening around this time and it had over 120 offenders, only single digit got lightly punished...

Yeah it would be too impossible for her to not realize such a heart felt confession. She had after all matured a lot by then, going through (tragic) relationships (hahaha) and all.
I can understand that very well as I have seen many Chinese dramas and novels that do this; tantalizing starts leading to disastrous ends.
That's exactly why if you browse my profile there is a list of dramas that I have cut into a shorter version because I liked the romance, not the series as a whole. Each took days to weeks to make.
Now though I have completely stopped watching them when they air.
Who have already watched it, have a different perspective because they have already invested so much time in it. Many get trapped in justifying there decision to watch it. Any reactions after the changed reality don't result in an adverse reaction.
Not for me though, if I find out that the ending is open or sad, I do what I can to express my rage on the lost time, everywhere I can.
There will always be a drama with a good ending that truly deserves my attention but still not get it.
And there are dramas like these who entrap us and throw our desires into the abyss, just to satisfy the writer's own sadistic tendencies. Such people certainly do not deserve my attention.
That's the classic plot which got lost to the makers.

Though overall recommended.
I just have configured my notifications to only trigger once drama is completed.
For me, any drama with open or sad ending is a bad drama, so for me, it didn't stand, in the first place.
