You watched a softcore porn movie packaged as a story with a placeholder fake plot. You see in Korean you cannot have straight up porn movies, they are outright illegal.

It is a Korean B grade movie, 99% Korean B grade movies have nudity and sex. Very very few have a story or plot.

Chinese dramas exist in various lengths. They can vary by up to 50% from various sources. Numerous reasons impact them, censorship, platform and even broadcasters may differ in what they want the length per episode to be.

It was never about whether he told her or not. That aspect was something the ML was essentially betting on as a last hope, something that he can use as an excuse if it fails.

Their relationship was going nowhere and the FL needed many years to become someone that considers a serious relationship as something more important than her individuality.

True, they really dragged that plot device too much. It was a combination of problems among both and the politics.

First the ML took so long to tell her that he has nothing to do with Zhen Zhen, so much so that he was unwilling and only when misunderstandings became a mountain that did he explode out of frustration.

Only after this outburst I think in E12 that FL went on the journey towards accepting and resuming her love with him. She did admit that she had loved him before. Only that misunderstanding made her feel betrayal and cultivate her trust issues.

The outburst in I think E21 again by the ML got her to realize the difference of reality both were interpreting. And she gradually became more welcoming.

I think the fact that it took over 60 years for her to realize the importance of love and feelings shows that she was never meant to be this person at all. Because even at 40 its extremely hard to change your established mindset.

That's exactly what the comments section is for. It is supposed to initiate discourse for everybody of diverse opinions.

If you don't like their opinions just learn to ignore them, that's like comments 101. I accept that sometimes even I cannot, but I try.

Man the FL is a complete blockhead, a stubborn fool, who seriously needs some adult advice from some sane adults, that are not her family.

All that "I love him, but can't accept it", is annoying, but somehow the show always keeps it toned so low that I won't say its frustrating. Rather something part of character development.

She is improving in a tangibly visible way so I can't complain. All the outbursts by the ML and his dedicated love and care, simply erases everything. Also her character slips frequently even though she still is inept at relating it to love but its supremely satisfying.

Koreans are really not ready to accept dramas with such level of nudity and thus, many cannot derive the intricate meaning in such scenes.

Frankly if they hadn't included them, it would have a rating in the 8s.

Naah, if it had more seasons definitely but with such short content, I can't in sound mind give that rating. You literally has 4/5 seasons of awesome psychotic content.

Though yes, both of them are really not masterpiece level series. I mean there is no rewatch value.

No, I was not talking about this drama but The Double. I have only seen her there.

Yanxi Palace is on my blacklist for some reason. Maybe I have watched it in the past and didn't like it or the ending is either rushed or open ended. I don't remember.

There was essentially no need to show the battle, they could have just ended it after the wedding, perhaps attach the special content with more exposition afterwards. It would have been an all rounded complete experience.

Well he did include it in the last episode, perhaps that was a consolation prize to stem public outrage about the rushed ending. Which obviously spectacularly failed that they had to shoot the 5 minute special.

Well apparently it was the director who repeatedly refused to include kiss scenes even after the actors' insistence.

So I guess, this tension was intentionally introduced to keep the audiences glued in.

The director is also very notoriously infamous in China for plagiarism and being disrespectful of actors as well as shaming them. So I guess he applied this sadistic approach so satisfy his power vanity.

Yeah, it always felt especially when they had affirmed their feelings through expression, that the time was right for a kiss, and it not happening really felt like getting played.

That's actually just kept bubbling in my mind and exploded when the actual kiss scene was skipped.

Aside from that the numerous tid bits of romance and jealousy was both cute and heart-warming at the same time. I keep getting reminded of when the ML removed Shuren's cape off her, hahahaha...

The FL's loving smile was all it really took to make me smile. If it kept with that I would have at least given 8.5.

If it had some good kisses, I would have cut the whole romance plot out of the drama and made myself a short movie to rewatch easily (I do this occasionally).

9 is simply not possible for me for a drama without a strong romance. I just draw the line there. As I tend to keep such drama in my archives.

It is very good, and when the leads are together, its a treat to watch. Unfortunately it doesn't sizzle as much to satisfy me as the implied kiss declares there isn't going to be anything serious going on.

Especially when there is no peace period or where they get to enjoy the courtship. There whole marriage was like a commercial, it came and went like wind.

Yeah I know, it was very clear.
I was just not looking for another subtle romance spanning 40 episodes.

She only looked good in the second half.
In the first, I was baffled at how old she looked and why even cast her opposed to such a young smooth skin ML, lol.

Actually I came here to find more great dramas featuring her, unfortunately could not find any that would satisfy all that I want from them.
