it's a great story that gets you immensed in this world. the age gap is not the issue here, the series focuses on their partnership as athlete and coach, the feelings it elicits in both and how difficult yet fullfilling is being into competitive sports. the male lead isn't a prodigy like some of his peers, but he has dreams and determination working for him and the female lead has to find a path for him to excel, but also her team.
i'd say give it a chance, it surprised me with its honesty and it may do so to you
