Watched the second episode, still not gripping enough for me. There is one instance i found funny when mother starts drumming to cool off her anger, but other than that humor is all misses, no hits. The directing, the visuals and the dramatic parts all make it feel like a human centric drama than a RomCom for me. It's too dull.
True I find this show more funny and intruding than Love next door I don't get the hype and crazy fans rating…
I really don't know how MDL users think. It's like just having two famous actors in lead roles in enough for them to manifest their feelings for the show even if it's dull in all or most things.
The family dynamic between mom dad daughter is great, comedy is all hits, if it keeps the serious crime part to minimal it's going to be a good show. This and Good Partner are the best ongoing shows for me, i tried Love Next Door but it didn't hook me.
I think directing is the issue here. I checked and noticed most of his works which are high rated here in MDL…
The scenario you described can be gripping enough if the chemistry between the two leads, and humor is on point, you don't need much tbh clichés can be entertaining but the first episode was a miss in humor and chemistry for me. And yes i also felt the directing was a bit too dull for a RomCom.
I do respect your opinion about Jung Haein, it's yours anyway. But for me Jung Haein is a main role material ,…
I liked him in DP coz that timidly, quiet kind of role suited him. He doesn't seem the bickering type of ML too me, so it's just a personal preference.
First episode didn't impress me. Jung So Min is one of my fav actress but the ML actor is not good enough for me to get hooked onto the show. I've seen him in other K-dramas in support roles, but he's just not main role material for me. The humor also does not hit so far, it's not bad it's just average.
Edit : On reflecting more i did like ML actor in DP, i just don't feel like the bickering kind of lead role in a RomCom suits him. He's a bit too cute-ish, quiet-ish looking for me. Apart from this i feel like the directing style is a bit too dull for a RomCom. I do like the visuals, it's polished and feels high production.
Just stop trying to appease western audience and incorporate elements from western shows. Many producers are trying to emulate that and those K-dramas are awful. Just be authentic and truthful to Korean audience and ethos.
Not more than 8/10. The formula gets tiring very quickly. Dropped S2 coz it's doing the same thing. I just can't seem to like Action Thriller Crime K-dramas, i've watched so many. So far The Stranger and The Devil Judge are the only 2 from those tags that have impressed me.
BY FAR THE prettiest, the most beautiful, the most stunning K actress. She's cute, adorable but at the same time she's extremely hot as well. It's so rare to be both to this extent AAAHHHHHHHH!!!
