i love that minha stood up for herself and told sukhyung's mom not to address her informally and clarified that she already apologized. yes, she accidentally (!) ruined her lipstick but what else could she possibly do to make it up other than what she did? she apologized immediately. i love that she understands that this doesn't give anyone a reason to treat her with disrespect.

hi, of course! i'll try to provide the whole story. nabi accidentally met seola and they had a similar convo like in ep5 but seola was super friendly, told nabi she got back together with jaeon the day before and complimented her hair, after which nabi told her the "tie your hair, it's what he likes" line. jaeon also talked to nabi and told her that he's dating seola and that he wants to treat her well. nabi then reunited with dohyuk (while visiting her aunt) but then jaeon told her he broke up with seola and nabi felt guilty for playing "mind games" with her earlier. but when nabi came back to seoul, jaeon told her he broke up with seola because he likes her instead and wanted to date her but nabi rejects him several times (even after he kneels and cries). finally, they almost get together but then she realizes jaeon just wanted to sleep with her, fuck her over and get revenge because she ruined his relationship with seola. much later on, nabi ends up with dohyuk so they're the endgame.

okay so we're finally at the point where they're extending the storyline (which is fair because if they only followed the webtoon, the drama would probably end next week) but now i'm confused about where the storyline is going and if they're keeping the original ending. both seola and jaeon are so much different from the webtoon and it makes less and less sense to keep the original storyline, but i loved the webtoon because of how realistic the ending was, so i really do hope they keep it.

some knetz have pointed out that sukhyung didn't turn off njjtw when minha came in and just continued watching it and smiling, which is not his usual reaction when others appear. it shows that he's more relaxed around her now. she also happens to be the only one who makes him laugh outside his friends circle.

also even though our girl minha still has 4 more tries, i really hope it'll be sukhyung who takes the first big step. not that i don't love how brave she is but i'd love to see sukhyung being comfortable about the idea of being in love again and being open about his feelings. instead of running away and worrying in silence, i hope he takes the lead.

sidenote: kinda interesting that they showed minha paying off her student loan debts considering sukhyung mom's uhh views on debts

tbh i wonder the same and i kinda hope they don't change the ending. it's what makes this drama a lot different even tho it seemed rushed in the webtoon. they're pretty true to the storyline so far but then again they introduced jaeon's pov, dohyuk and seola as characters earlier so at this point, anything could happen...

i see why you might consider her to be the "female version" of jaeon because bitna is also the type who is not willing to commit but i don't think her situation with kyuhyun is comparable to nabi x jaeon. in bitna's case, she was super drunk, it was a one-night stand (so it happened only once) and the guy happens to be one of her closest friends (nabi and jaeon don't have their friendship on a line to be fair). bitna dates a lot/has casual sex but she's also much more transparent about her relationships and discusses them with other people. also i'd say that she was jealous when she saw kyuhyun on a date and she did act childish, but she hasn't manipulated him or has given him any mixed signals before the one-night stand happened. the only similarity is that they don't really do "relationships", but other than that the circumstances are pretty different.

also i'm so happy they introduced dohyuk earlier than expected. i hope his story gets proper screentime and a proper storyline (unlike in the webtoon). he was absolutely adorable when he put those potatoes in his hoodie and the birthday scene was really heart-warming.

that said - am i the only one who feels like the drama is movie quite fast even with all the subplots (bitna, sol etc)? we're only 4 episodes in but i feel like the drama already covered so much of the webtoon. i wonder how many new scenes will be added because it seems like there's no way they can make 6 episodes with the rest of the webtoon?

i'm so happy for eunji and especially her mom <3 i hope only happiness and health follows them from now on. the actress who played her mom, lee eun joo, seriously did such a fantastic job, my heart ached watching all of her scenes. i hope to see her in more dramas!

that's joohyeok. dohyeok hasn't appeared yet but it seems that he will in the next episode.

i understand that jiwan might need some time to sort out her feelings because as of right now i don't think even us (the viewers) can be sure whether she's just territorial because she was always the only one getting ALL of sol's attention (and we now know she looks up to sol), or if she's seeing her differently for the first time which makes her feel this confused and lost. to be fair it's likely that jiwan doesn't know it either.
that said, i really didn't like how she behaved in this episode. i get that she needs time but she knows sol for way too long to act like this. yes she might be hurt because sol never mentioned the exchange program or that she's hanging out with someone new but is that really a reason to make a scene and make everyone present uncomfortable? to insult the guy like that even after sol gifted her the toy she won? even when jiwan is the one dating ALL the time while sol has never been seen on a date? i thought jiwan would stop going on blind dates for a while after she stopped that guy from asking sol out (and falsely telling him he's boring), but did she really expect sol to just stay single forever while she keeps going out with different people?
they're best friends, they should be able to talk to each other openly about any problems. jiwan constantly prioritizing her own feeling over sol's is just not it. it's childish and disrespectful. she, of all people, should care about how sol feels like.

as for sol and jiwan...

i believe they're introducing the SML much earlier than any of us expected after reading the webtoon. nevertheless, it'll be much more interesting from now on

sorry for a late response! i believe that the the original is by park joong-hoon but lee mujin remade it and it was released as an ost for this season. many artists did a cover of this song so that's why it might be familiar :')

i think most people are just assuming he'll show up in ep 9 because in the webtoon, he appeared super late and didn't really get a lot of scenes. the drama is (as of the first two eps) following the webtoon closely, with some changes ofc but nothing too big. so unless they change something in the adaptation, he'll only appear by the end

the dynamic between hisoo and seohyun was definitely the highlight of this drama. i loved both of these characters but i still wish they got a better script.

after finishing the last episode, all i can say is that i felt like i watched three dramas at once. the acting of the three main leads was superb but the ending was underwhelming and the story inconsistent. it seemed like the writer didn't quite know where to go with the story. this was one of the 2021 dramas i anticipated the most so i'm sad over the wasted potential.

i absolutely agree with the comment above (by torochii) but i think it also happens to be because sol is a pretty private person who mostly hangs out with jiwan so other people don't really get to see how they interact and how sol acts around her. and jiwan is always going on dates with guys so everyone just assumes she's straight and that sol is her best friend (the latter, at least, is true as of right now). sol seems like she's cool with everyone but she clearly rarely goes to group gatherings/smokes with the rest etc so i don't think they know her that well
