Let's state the obvious, the drama got a fantastic cast all of them bounce off each other smoothly. There was a great chemistry flouting around and everything fitted nicely. However, the story/writing was problematic and I almost feel I can't complain about how it was because that's what was popular back then. Even though I liked the setting and the premise. There was a lot more to be done with it instead of just roaming around. The saddest thing about the drama is how lonely and estranged Moo Hyuk always remained despite having people around him. Anyway, it's worth watching for the cast and vibes alone.
The drama is fine but its biggest problem is the lack of clear direction, event happen as things go along. It's like an indefinite series and you are tuning in for the episode of the week. Which would have been fine if it was limited to 20 or so episodes. Another thing is how quite it feels and the lack of interesting side stories/characters doesn't help either. Again, this would have been fine for a shorter series.
The drama had a good idea for a story, good set up, capable cast and interesting enough prominent characters/stories but it didn't accomplish much with all of that despite having a very relaxed 50 episodes run. Overall, the drama is alright but there's much left to be desired.
The drama was shot nicely and had a great cast behind it but my god it was utterly boring, brain-dead and uninspired. The writing/dialogue is just too lame as it is, you can feel the cast was struggling to work with it. How the ML behaved was comical and people call it realistic! This is both the director's and writer's first project but it's hard to over look these things. Hope to see Jang Na Ra in better projects.
It's safe to say that this drama is hands down the biggest flop from OCN. They really put a lot of effort in ruining it, it's admirable! Who ever made this should be ashamed. It's worse than Dr.Frost and that one was pretty rough. I gave it a very generous 3/10
Pretty good drama, great diverse cast, full of stories and the writing is decent. The drama does a lot right and it will appeal to a lot of people. I think Joo Yeong will be a fan favorite. However, there are few annoyances that bugged me. As good as it may seemed but it got seriously exhausting after a while watching the male lead endlessly taking all the shit, sacrificing to no avail and being the victim. He might as well just be a saint.
The drama also rely lazily on that one dimensional antagonist that I'm wondering why the writer didn't put any effort into him? They are clearly able to so judging how they made the other characters. It's also a little problematic how long the antagonist linger around with no real development to the story, I think it would be better if he was only given attention for a certain period.
Another thing bugged me is how both main couples/both brothers' relationship came to an abrupt pause around the last ~30 episodes for an unjustified logical reason just so that the drama could have 1 more conflict before the ending. Which brings me to my next note, the drama needed a little more tension than the massive influx of happy moments, the only factor that was creating tension was the lawyer which himself was lacking a lot as I explained above. Overall, still a good show 7.5/10
Goddamn! I thought it would be on the same level as Temptation of an Angel and Two Mothers but turns out to be much better. This drama is hands down the best makjang-revenge-long-format-soap-opera-melodrama I've seen so far and it's a rarity for such a sub genre.
The drama made me care about the antagonist at the end, WTF? That's illegal lol. Unlike similar dramas, this one doesn't do a magical time skip sending the lead abroad for 10 years then coming back for revenge as a powerful CEO, no, the lead go through shit to stand up again. I thought So Hee was fine at the beginning but it was really unfortunate how they changed her character completely later on.
Not a fan of the ending, in fact, the entire last 2 episodes were straight up disappointing. Seriously, what did the ML accomplish or gain at the end? Almost nothing. It's like he tricked his mind to think he finished his revenge. The cast was good but I ended up disliking everything else. The drama is a waste of time if you aren't a fan of the cast.
Despite seeing the ending coming, I still had some hope it would end differently. The drama had potentials to be a good revenge story for the synopsis it had but how everything played out was purely comical. I guess that's what they were aiming for. Too bad because I liked the cast.
Nothing to see here, it's your run of the mill recycled makjang. Turn off the brain and get through it. The one thing that bothered me the most is the unjustified stern conviction and sheer determination of the antagonist's drive to take revenge, of which, was never built up on any reasonable basis.
The first episode was so bad that it will push away so many potential viewers. They ditched away so many characters way too early, first ~20 episodes, that made the rest of the drama too dry. I didn't think the drama could get worse but when they shifted the focus away from Se Na in the last ~30 episodes it really reached the bottom of the abyss. Apparently, raping is hella easy, just give them a small shot of alcohol and they go into a medical induced coma. This happened THREE times in the drama. No one even mentioned the fact that both siblings were dating from the same family, usually that's a big no-no in Korean culture to date in-laws. Hopefully Kim Min Kyung got payed the highest out of the cast because they made her go through a lot. If I were to keep mentioning every little thing I wouldn't be finished until tomorrow.
Sorry but i saw u gave low rating to almost all soap opera, may i know which ur favorite soap opera drama, since…
Well, soap operas are a landmine field and they tend to be overdone because they cater to a specific Korean demographic. For me a score of 5 isn't low, it means the drama was okay and totally watchable for a variety of reasons despite the problems it had. The highest rated ones I liked were family oriented ones with some elements of "soap opera/makjang" to raise conflicts such as (Smile, You / My Father Is Strange). For the full-on soap opera ones, there are a few that were really good and gave them a good rating such as: -Heard it Through the Grapevine -Famous Princesses -I Have a Lover -Seo Yeong, My Daughter -Life Is Beautiful
