I went in blind because of Jung So Min and I'm surprised it flopped hard. That last episode actually ruined my mood.
The first 2/3 were okay then these out of touch nonsensical tropes started popping. Tiresome triangle, wacky past between leads, childish stubbornness and the good ol' classic of "we MUST break up x years and meet again".
Looking at the screenwriter previous works seems like it's typical of her to write subpar shows.
Yup it's bad no doubt about it... but here I'm gulping down whatever Yoon Eun Hye throws at me. Big RIP this was her last drama. I can't help but feel that Chun Jung Myung doesn't fit modern dramas. His face and appearance would be more fitting in 90's or 2000's dramas.
FL really fits her role in this drama. It had some hilarious scenes but most of the comedy was cringe. Other than the comedy it falls flat on its face. Subpar writing with most of the air time filled with nonsense. I found both male leads (Min Ki + Kang Hyuk) lack in acting and character writing. Especially Min Ki, he is a child in a 30yo mans body until the script forces him to be otherwise. Really hate such character writing in the name of comedy.
This is NOT "Thriller, Mystery, Romance, Medical", this is one of those 2000's melodramas. It's insulting trying to adhere it to crime/medical dramas. I can't believe this is the same woman who wrote Signal. I don't know why would anyone watch it, it does everything wrong.
Sleazy characters lacking any depth. Cheap bland makjang with weak writing. Acting is hit or miss, some scenes looks straight up robotic especially with the cousin. Absolutely zero chemistry between leads, FL didn't show interest in ML for 90% of the run until suddenly she did because the writers remembered to incorporate romance. For the story itself, it's really weird this decade long obsession between the ajumma and FL after only spending few days together in her childhood. Despite being such a big plot device, there was no follow up conversation between Jung Soo and ajumma at the end. The last conversation between them was at the beginning of ep19 when ajumma asked her to take her time before making the decision and that was the last we seen from them.
Didn't expect a veteran actress like Lee Il Hwa to star in a short drama. Was pleased too see her for sure. It was decent, sweet heartwarming drama about mother and daughter.
Some scenes were absolutely hilarious but that's it, only few scenes. Despite being a short drama, the gimmick "Please treat me as a slave" gets old really fast after few episodes.
Giving the nature of this drama I wished for a stronger ending. Mayu believing the phone call at the end seems unfitting of her character. They decided to adhere to the same ending Mayu read when she was young instead of Mayu's version. I feel like that took away from the revenge.
That was something... The least you can do if you have 0 budget is to look up a Youtube tutorial on how to color grade a video. That is the bare minimum no matter what!

If I had to pick a favorite it would be the fourth episode “Walking at Night”.
But seriously it's actually really good!
It has the length of a movie, it deserves to be its own movie with a little more polish and care.

Bruh just show me some food
