Isn’t it basically Mulan? Don’t come at me, folks. Sincerely just asking.
It's Mulan but mostly focused on a revenge and politics plot. The focus isn't on the fact that she's disguised as a man. In her original life, it might've been. In this one with a new identity it's about how she gets betrayed by her family, and how the ML discovers it and helps her take revenge. Also there is a lot of backstory for the ML as well.
I want to watch this drama, but the author is quite problematic. She’s colorist and shows strong disdain for…
I mean that is to be expected from a story set in the ancient times. Nobles stayed under parasols thus they were fair and poor people who toiled in the sun were tanned. That's why fair skin was seen as better. And that stigma has continued to this day even though the meaning has been lost, as you know. As for ethnic minorities, like the tartars, they were depicted as other enemy nations, separate from the Hans. Because that's how it really was in ancient times. They were less civilised nomads who were considered "barbarians". I do agree that racism and discrimination is unacceptable in this day and age because every majority and minority is equally civilised and educated. But during those time there was a solid logic behind it. And the discrimination and colourism in the books are not the writer's personal opinion but rather the mindset of the characters set in the ancient era story. I have read most of the books by this author and they are brilliant. I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on them because of simple misunderstandings.
Broo what I just found out it's Choo Young Woo singing the super sad "Goodbye" OST! His voice is so nice I thought it was Roy Kim! He's such a great actor and can sing so well too?! IM STANNING
My heart broke for Bongsu when he woke up pretending to be Gyeonu and found out how differently Seonga treats him T_T But that still doesn't excuse his behaviour. He needs to go to Hotel del Luna so Jang Manwol can show him the cold truth and send him away.
Clearly this Sun Shixiong is up to no good. His wife is probably already dead and he's trying to bring her back by doing experiments on the innocent villagers! This drama is so exciting I can't wait for the next episode!
How did Nan Rui become my favourite character towards the end? I'm so happy that he and Nan Heng have each other's backs and he finally was able to prove his worth to the Emperor (and himself). Also his love line at the end hahaha I giggled when it happened. So cute!
One of the few dramas that starts okay but ends great! I liked the second half so much more than the first. The ending was so satisfying, I'm so happy all the characters got their happily ever afters. Last episode was the best!
Eeek I'm so excited for next week! I'm happy that this show is fast paced. Next week they'll probably make up and the last half of the drama will be them fighting the bad guys together hopefully.
