How do I get invested in other kdrama pairings. This is the case of when you just finished a drama so investing, it throws you into a slump. The chemistry between the leads did that for me.
Best of 2024 for me along with Byeon woo seok and Kim hye Yoon. But I think I prefer this one a tad bit more because of the underlying sexual tension set up right from episode 1 which I rarely see nowadays, like it is not in your face but just lingering. plus, I am sucker for marriage tropes. give them all the couple and chemistry awards please (+ Kiss of the year....they didn't give us multiple mukbangs for nothing)

Ummm I will forgive episode 11 only If they give us fluff in episode 12. I am not buying any reconciliation and half baked fluff in the last 10 minutes. I need actual cute, romantic scenes for at least 30 minutes, so Saeon better get his ass back to Heejoo.
The characters and we the viewers didn't go through 11 episodes of angst and turmoil to get scammed in episode 12.
oh and we need an actual flashback of Baek Saeon pinning for Hong Heejoo in their adulthood.

like QOT wasn't filled with silly making plots and slapstick comedy that took away from the main plot. it was drawn out much longer than it was supposed to be. The saving grace of that drama were the actors, acting, and cinematography/costuming/OST. The premise while intriguing was not well done or fleahed, put any other less popular actor in that show and watch no one care about it.
Baek Saeon is really begging for those cheating allegations.
The end? The tension was so so good. Beak Saeon's desperation, worry and fear were so palpable, and the tears? My heart couldn't take it. Yoon seok and Soo bin did so well in that scene, they had my heart racing
This drama wasn't on my radar but I happened to binge watch 7 episodes last night and my gosh! The quality is toptier, the characters are impactful and not caricature-ish, the chemistry between the leads is not forced but still palpable, and the plot is engaging.
it actually reminds me of LLTG, the way the leads haven't lots of interactions in the first episode but when they do, it's sizzling.
I love how Duanwu is intuitive. She's intune with what goes on around her and people's emotions. it's how she could tell that Yan Zijing isn't just doing all of this for business and that there was an underlying emotional attachment to the decisions he made. It's also how she can tell that Zhang Jinran likes her and it's not just him being nice.
Yan Zijing is honestly so done with Duanwu and Zhang Jinran's interactions, he's so fed up he has to mock her everytime. I will take that as a hint of jealousy
