I'm going to need everyone to give JJY her flowers for her compelling performance this episode. Frankly, I never really held her in high esteem considering I haven't really been a fan of acting in her previous drama. But take my word when I say I have been moved beyond words by her performance in this drama. She's improved so much and I'm happy for her, I would be looking out for her now.
It feels surreal to have a full circle back and mirroring of Xiao Wei's story from the beginning of the drama. I did know it was foreshadowing, but it feels so good to see it fulfilled.
But all in all, this episode was beyond heartbreaking. I love angst but this was angst promax.
This drama is causing me a lot of heartache, I literally play the episode while accepting that it's time to shed my daily dose of tears because of it.
I don't even know who's more tragic. Lu Wuyi who discovered her entire existence was strung up together with other people's parts and that are memories are nor hers. Or Wu Wangyan who discovered that her memories have been stolen and manipulated for the longest time..
My heart did break for Lu Wuyi a little more, because she just found out that the person she loves the most didn't really share those memories with her. she's also probably feeling insecure and wondering if Wu Wangyan even loves her or Su Tian, or whether WWG would even hate her when she finds out.
'I would do anything for you'...someone shake me now, the delivery of that line and the ones before was breathtaking.
At least now we know why WWG has been cold to WSG. Though I'm a bit perplexed about the heart situation, how was she able love and care for people except Lu Wuyi without her heart? that is if they're trying to allude the cause of the distance between WSG and WWG to her absent heart.
Finally got a whole Jilu buffet, and they're the absolute cutest, just look at them being all smiley with each other.
The exchange of gifts was adorable. Lu Wuyi is right, Ji Ling is a sweet talker because what do you mean 'she is my moon alone'?
Choosing actively to forget that this man just said Lu Wuyi has to die for them to eliminate Jiu Ying completely...I have selectively blocked that from my memory.
I missed seeing my fox girlies together, I love their chemistry.
Episode 18 thoughts: Chi Wen strikes again with his majestic aura, everyone is going all out fighting fir their lives, and his standing there and looking cool with his minimal gestures. No but seriously though, you are under attack and you're serving face?
Then Lu Wuyi and Wu Wangyan decided to shatter my heart with their scene. whoever is cutting onion, please I beg you to stop. That scene superbly acted and so touching. The writing of Wu Wangyan character seems based on the 'Eldest daughter'. she's bearing all the burden and secrets, and cannot fathom sharing such with Lu Wuyi because she wants LW to be happy and care free.
Then there's Lu Wuyi who just wants to be with her big sister, the person that noticed her first and knows her the best and loves her the most. How can she bear loosing her. Lu Wuyi is lover girl at heart, I'm telling you.
While everyone is gathered over at the other corner trying to get my lovely Wu wangyan out, Chi Wen is somewhere else playing mind chess. I don't believe he is evil for a second, I really hope his scheme works but knowing cdramas, I doubt it will.
Chi Wen/Longshen/Ji ling take these demon powers and make them look 10× cooler. Because Xiaowei wasn't doing…
Oh the scene where Longshen removes his hands from Lu Wuyi's, and then uses word speak on her and discovers she isn't on guard against him because she trusts him was beautiful
Chi Wen/Longshen/Ji ling take these demon powers and make them look 10× cooler. Because Xiaowei wasn't doing all that when she was alive. Chi Wen really said let me show you how to use your powers.
No but on a more serious, there's a gravitas and aura that comes with longshen using his powers as dragon diety, and kudos ro Tian Jiarui for being able to portray that at his age, and set him apart from other characters.
On a lighter note, I didn't get my Wuyi/Chiwen crumbs from this episode.
Some scenes are genuinely so funny, like that 'Brother' sequence, the whole fight sequence, and the competitive question answering during the field trip.
The funniest thing, though, is Seo Mirae's one-sided beef Park Gyeong Nam. It was a really cute rivals to lovers drama.
Mad asl just because antis can't freely to hate on the drama including Jisoo in the comment section. Is it also…
Are you insane? In what way is this constrictive criticism especially the last paragraph.
'Blackpink's days in the limelight are numbered', are you hearing yourself? you sound like a hater. The statement is not even close to true when they're reaching more peaks in their various careers, and literally some of the biggest names in the Korean Industry.
The male lead feels like his character is written based off those boys that bully girls cause they like them so they want their attention.
I'm sorry but delaying rescuing your wife just so she'd feel indebted to you and obedient is awful. She wasn't in any real danger but she was gagged and blindfolded for the whole night, her mind was probably racing throughout the night, that's low-key traumatising. at first I thought he was only going to delay by an hour or so, but till the next morning is crazy. I am surprised Kang ning agreed to lie to her sister about that.
And the male lead is trashy for raising that idea. 'An obedient wife is a better one', so she shouldn't complain when he's going out to watch women and not doing his duties as husband? actual ewwww.
Don't tell me Yang Xian -that man that tried to forcefully take Kangning as his concubine and even wanted to get frisky with her- is the love interest of the fifth daughter?
damn. my heart is breaking for Feng Yao and Nan Xuyue/Fate.
Feng Yao is such an underrated character, I really really liked her and the relationship she had with Nan Xuyue. How poetic that the one person that truly truly loved Nan Xuyue/Fate was beside him all this time and he didn't realize it. And she was the one that finally made Fate understand Love for what it is. That scene in episode 39 was beyond heart wrenching
episode 35: I usually hate misunderstanding tropes but this one is written so well, I can't find any loopholes. The concept of fate rewriting history is 🤌
Honestly, the flashback gave us not only the backstory but the second leads first love sequence which was do cute, and the fact that their dying wishes for eachother came true in their present life.
I have a love-hate relationship with Tian Ming, his character is just to tragic to buy hate. how can someone be so selfish and selfless at the same time, he is fully in love Mu Xuanling (chaos pearl) and doesn't realize it....he totally understands love but thinks he doesn't
episode 23: This drama really creates side characters' stories that I actually care about. They're actually interesting and unique. I loved Sangqi's backstory and now Feng Xiang Zun and Qian Guang backstory is equally heartbreaking. Feng Xiang Zum cursed to live everyday of her life all over again and Qian guang wishing to live with her forever but ending up being her shadow and never meeting her, plus them never telling eachother about their feelings. That divine clan dude pissed me of badly, it was so uncalled for.
in other xianxias, i fond myself skipping side character plotlines cause they are usually yawn inducing but I can't wait to see other backstories in this drama, they are so well done
Episode 19: It's been a while since I have been this engaged in a xianxia. This episode was absolute bunkers, all the revelations we got. I did not expect such plot twists and usually xianxias are so predictable but this wasn't.
wow, I love that the evil people aren't just written to be evil and that the path to evilness is paved with good intentions and betrayal in this drama. Sang qi's backstory was so good. I love when evil guys have a love obsession, makes them hotter. God knows I would have been manipulated by Sang qi, that man is so damn fine.
Nan Xuyue being morally grey? sign me up.
Xie Xunchen is the definition of fell last but fell harder, that man is not letting go. he's also getting injured every two business days, that man needs a vacation.
A' Bao is the cutest, they better not harm a hair on her head

Just when we think we're in a smooth sailing point in the drama, the plot thickens. I expect nothing less from GJM honestly.
I do know this arc is going to lead to so much heartbreak, so I'm shopping for boxes of tissue (yes BOXES!)
For now, I'm going to enjoy the Jilu fluff while it lasts.

it's just a fun and comedic watch that I needed. #bringactualromcomsback
