After watching the last few episodes recently I have so say CLS is now my favorite. I still like Ziyi but shes taking the sect route... this is so sad :(

Yeah Im watching Chinese Paladin 3 which is very nostalgic for me. Seen some episodes here and there when I was a very little kid. Decided to try it again. Its not to say that some shows with idols aren't good, its just that the rating are WAY too high for the plot. You can bring up numerous shows with the same plot but without the idols and the rating significantly dips. One rule of thumb I've used is give a show a shot regardless of whether it has an idol or not. Never watch/rate a show simply because your favorite idol is in it or has the "perfect character" and wins every time.

I totally agree. But thats why I love shows like Side Story of Fox Volant so much. The actors and actresses are so underrated (for good reason) and the story is so good. It makes it even better since its a Wuxia which is one of my favorite genres! That being said if there was an idol this show would've absolutely trashed and downvoted like crazy if they got a "bad guy" role.

I love underrated shows so this is no exception! Im just glad to be able to enjoy such a show and if others ask how it is it would be a pleasure to say watch Side Story of Fox Volant because its amazing :)

I agree with you also about your idol comment. That's one of the biggest problems I've seen on MDL not gonna lie. Don't get me wrong some idols can "act" but that doesnt make the show they are in great or anything. Many shows with certain idols or "handsome guys" the story for the drama/show is mediocre at best. Nothing stands out, but still it gets a high/overrated score. For example, the show Chinese Paladin has a very low rating despite being one of the best CDramas ever made.

Just a warning if you do decide to try this underrated show, its really good and is very sad ;(

I love CLS too! At the end of the day it's obvious she didn't have to journey with him since she's not involved with anything he's been through. She knows the risks of leaving the valley but still took the chance because she loves Hu Fei. I'm really hoping writers retcon the ending and make it good for all 3 of them. They a deserve it .

Usually these "bonding" talks lead to even more misunderstandings. I'm so glad they understood and even agreed to help each other out for the sake of Hu Fei whom they both love so much. I REALLY do not mind who he ends up with. They are both so sweet.

Alot of sects are like this in the wuxia cdrama world. For example if u watched Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre 2019 the same thing happens to one of our loveable characters it's such a shame selfishness and personal agenda destroy relationships. I'm with you I hate the nun

Cant expect all characters to be "perfect" in everyway. This is what usually happens when characters are kind to a fault. But story wise it makes sense.

Thats why Im hoping he dies a very painful death no matter what it is. He just needs to go ;D

Ziyi is more vocal about it while CLS is smart but keeps quiet when needed.

He was bad from the start. No redemption needed. Can't wait to see how he dies.

Some actors and actresses were born to play the villain and she is dam well good at it! An extremely underrated actress.
