I hate sad endings especially in BL series. Real life gay love stories are tragic as it is, why extend it in media?…
I'm just gonna jump on here to kind of "defend" @rolandgalicio's comment. I get what you mean by saying real life gay stories are tragic. To say their relationships are tragic is not to say they are "woe is us" but truth be told it is only in the last two decades or so that conventional society has FINALLY acknowledged that gay people ARE THE SAME and have the same needs and rights as heterosexuals. Even here (USA) where gay marriage is legal there are STILL those fighting to deny them the same rights as their heterosexual counterparts. THAT is a human tragedy.

For the longest time people had to pretend to be straight and date women, sneak around, lie to family, be just "best friends" as someone mentioned in the comment above. THAT is a tragedy. To have to act like something else instead of who you are with your partner is NOT a fair and healthy way to live. No one should have to do that.

Also i honestly believe that because society for forever and a day and its homophobia never gave homosexuals the space to just BE to nurture healthy, loving relationships it just got difficult for them to commit. Plants need sunlight and water to bloom and grow and so do relationships (metaphorically speaking). I mean in many place around the world people are still getting persecuted, forced to marry people they do not love, etc so... I don't think the comment meant that there are no happy gay stories, just that no heterosexual has to really defend a relationship based on sexuality of their partner while gay people to this day still have to. End rant. This is obviously MY opinion on the matter and wish no one any disrespect.

Ugghhhh. Just watched the entire thing all at once. Was NOT expecting a three episode show to stab me in the heart like this. The last 10 minutes? Yes, I cried a bit with both of them. Judge me. ;-) Love is great. Also, love sucks. haha I thought War did an amazing job conveying the character's emotions especially the hesitancy and pain of "unrequited"/unspoken love. Short, (bitter)sweet and DEFINITELY needs a sequel ASAP Please and Thank You. Oh, and having friends that get you is one of the absolute best things ever.

Anyone know of a place to watch this that isn't such incredibly bad quality??
A bit late but it is on kissasian with better quality!

Still waiting for subs. It's funny, to me this show is at least half cringe-fest but I keep waiting for the next…
Me too. He's just so chill but feisty when he needs to be. The show is a real guilty pleasure!

This is probably a terrible "review" cause it is so darn non-committal. This show has me going "I do", "I don't" through every episode I watch. But ultimately I guess I DO somewhat like it. Sighhh Don't expect a big budget production, there is some cringe but the characters are fun.

Ahhhh, "Mama Bear" Juan... All her sneaky looks and knowing/sly smiles is every single one of us fan-girling and giggling over the blossoming romance. I adore her.

It's nice to see someone commenting things you already think, considering the amount of negativity this shows…
Yeah, I get that we all have different things we like, that is the beauty of any art form and I love that subjectivity but from some comments here you'd think this was HORRENDOUS. Although I HAVE to say the last two episodes have been wacky and kinda blah. Like did the director and writer take a vaycay together and leave rookies at the wheel? haha anyway I am sticking with it cause yes,I agree with you their sweet moments are ahhhhh....

hahaha @zombie face. The show was GREAT although of course I would have liked more depictions of bl love. We will take what we can get aye?! Glad you enjoyed!

Wasn't going to watch this based on comments. (Show #2. Be Loved in House was the other one) I realize I really need to stop doing that and just make up my OWN mind cause I would have missed out on a few good shows like History3:MODC for example. Opinions and reviews are great but moods change so what may be meh one day might actually not be so bad on an "I just want to chill tonight" night. I like this. Easy going, no "am I gay or no" after a dude says he likes you, instead he just honestly said give me a minute to think about it/there might be someone else I like. It's kinda free flowing and not drama drama drama so right now while waiting for things like KinnPorshe (cough cough OMG the wait is FOREVER!!!) it's serving me just right. Nothing ground breaking but far from abysmal/boring.

What a thoughtful and thought provoking analysis. It reminded me of a conversation I had with my dad a week before…
Thank YOU for sharing your experience. Love is amazing but it's tough!! Keep fighting. :-)

How can we not compare it to itsay when it is its sequel?! What even...
umm for exactly the reason you stated. It is NOT ITSAY, it is a whole different story at an entirely different time in their lives. Are you the same now as when you were maybe oh five years younger? Not being douchey just saying.... Things change.

On I Promised You the Moon Jun 26, 2021
So I was one of those who waited till the entire season was done and then binged all five episodes altogether and I am so glad I did. I feel like only then do you really get ALL the emotions without any gaps in the story from waiting a week. Anyhoo having loved ITSAY to death I was worried about the sequel. No need. I absolutely LOVED this show. The beauty of ITSAY was watching the promise of young love, the innocence of it, the shy glances and tentative physical interactions, the discovery of one's sexuality and dealing with all these new emotions. It dealt with teenage hormones and all the sugar and toothaches that come with it. And then the "growing pains" come and that is what IPYTM was.

Some may complain about using the cheating trope but trope is in all honesty just a word used to describe a theme that consistently happen in art and real life. Unfortunately infidelity is a reality in relationships (no I'm not saying ALL of them so chill out) and work/school life are all things that affect the sweetness of love and that was shown brilliantly here. Oh Aew's loneliness stemmed from the fact that on Phuket they were young and free to run around all day with friends with little to no worries. Teh's seeming distancing came from him immersing himself in his craft. 'Grown up' life was happening and they were both not prepared for it. I actually appreciated the fact that it wasn't wall to wall scenes of them together because real life doesn't work that way. Separate personal/work lives does not mean a relationship is not working.

In the end what this show conveyed was that despite all these obstacles and occurrences that end many relationships, couples who really want to make it work have to go back to the pure time of when and WHY they fell in love with each other in order to heal and make things work. Time WILL dull these emotions that used to be sharp and intense and real love is work.

From reading some of these comments it is very clear that some are in for a rude awakening when they discover that love is not all rainbows, butterflies cotton candy and vanilla milkshakes. My sympathy to you in advance. It is a sometimes bumpy, messy, imperfect ride. Some make it till the end and some fall off and never get back on. These two somehow found their way back to each other and the way it was done was absolutely heart wrenching but beautiful and honest.

Kudos to all involved in the making of this show and for daring to portray the characters experiencing pain instead of making it some sickly sweet continuation of ITSAY. It was different, it was painful, it was mature and it was very well made. Thank you!!!!

Sorry for the delay. I haven't read many of the tv series books just mainly random web novels from Novel Updates (amazing site).

Lightweight reading: Love Stops Rumors, Everyone Thinks That I Like Him, Thinking of Dear Fei Fei, Picked Up a Strange Knight, You Boys Play Games very Well

Dark Characters/Mature Relationships: Golden Stage, Friends With Benefits, Surrender, Living to Suffer, Outside the Law, The Script is Not like This, Hua Hua You Long (very dark story beware) Sha Po Lang

Verrrry Mature/Dark/Quite a bit of sexual activity (lol); Screen Partner (sex but also fluffy and sweet), Supernatural Actor Movie App (horror) The Reader and the Protagonist Definitely Have to be in True Love, Advance Bravely (graphic sex) , Quickly Wear the Face of the Devil

Historical:The Husky and His white Cat Shizun, Mo Dao, Zu Shi, Scum Villain's Self Saving System, Heaven's official Blessing

I listed MANY that I have read and liked that way you can select from the book type that YOU like and go from there! Hope this helps! ;-)

am I the only one whos legitimately enjoying the show ? It's funny and easy going; All the characters are fun…
I find it organic and natural, as if it's just flowing like real life with no forced plot/script. but slowly leading to SOMEthing. I'd describe it as refreshing!

I haven't watched Nitiman for the same reason why I held back on this one. After your comment I am now going to go give it a chance! Thank you!! I like to hold off while a series is being aired (I read tons of yaoi/shounen -ai novels in the meantime) then binge watch the entire thing. I joined the 'BL world' only recently so most of the shows were complete so this last year it has been a non stop binge fest, ONE thing good about COVID 19 lock down lol.

I thought this was going to be boring based on some reviews I read on here so I just watched it to "fill in"/pass some time. Ugh man! Just binged all six episodes, absolutely loved it and now I have to wait once a week for a new episode. This BL life is a black hole I tell you. Oh and the main leads are HOTTTTTTT! haha
