Ahhhhhh episode 11. I cringed and laughed out loud same as usual with this great show. And also shed a few tears. That cafeteria scene... I've read some comments on here lambasting the fact that Toh's group of friends are "femme", effeminate etc. and a bad representation of gay men with their behaviour and shenanigans. Yet there is Daisy trying to change herself in an appeal to be more "masculine" lest the friends of the one she likes don't approve of her. Some of you feel that in your knocking this show and their characterizations you are helping the LGBTQ community when in actual fact you are a very big part of the problem. She shouldn't, None of them should have to be less "screaming, giggly, girlie people" to be accepted and loved. BTW I phrased it like that because it was made to seem like a bad thing..... She has got the best friends ever!

It should be ALL facets/aspects of homosexuality and gay "culture" displayed not just the ones YOU think are positive for the straights to watch. Those watching the show who embrace the LGBTQ community already KNOW not all gay people act like Toh's group of friends and those who don't know this ( I don't understand how someone can think an ENTIRE group of people all behave the same way in the first place) probably have no love for the community anyway. A serious, no nonsense show is probably going to do little to change their minds either. Shows might open eyes that are ready to accept new things/ideas but if a heart is definitively closed to something it takes more than one series to change it.

Hopefully there WILL be more feminine characters as leads in shows, there will continue to be masculine "stud of the campus" characters and ALL should be welcome if you say you want true representation. Being effeminate and showing it does not equate being a less than gay person. Calling the dharacters caricatures, minstrels I remember someone said in a comment, etc means you are calling every gay person who acts that way a caricature themselves. You're not helping.

Anyway yeah, good episode. Love this show in all it's effeminate, cringey, second hand embarrassment inducing, over the top glory!

His portrayal of Toh in SCOY is amazing. So absolutely hilarious and his comedic timing is on point. He has definitely made a fan out of me.

OK, made it through the first ep. Only started FFing near the end when I couldn't stand the screeching anymore.Best…
Hey you can like what you like. That I will say. But my question is WHY do you think every single BL show has to be some sort of representational, serious, politically correct show? There are all kinds of gay people, there are socially awkward ones, sexually forward ones, serious, quiet studious ones, smart ones, dumb folks etc . There are stalkers, sweet lovers, kinky ones, jealous, possessive, endearing, loving ones ... the list goes on. Basically every trait in straight people is found in gay people because we are all just that, people.

If you are really about representation you would understand that not every human falls under the same umbrella. Why can't there be a series that shows a nerdy, silly and cringe inducing character without it causing some sort of moral/activist like outrage? Your response would be "well its been a marginalized group for so long " and mine would be "then wouldn't the right thing be to show that yes "they" are just like you heteros (specifically homophobes) who think of them as "other"? "Faggot drag queens and minstrels" is what you got from watching an awkward, nerdy, shy guy and his group of animated friends?!?! Have you SEEN movies like American Pie etc?!?! They are meant to cause second hand embarrassment, entertain and make you laugh, not to deride and denigrate a type of people.

With ALL the other great BL shows coming out ONE can't be clumsy, raunchy sex comedy like? Isn't true representation about including ALL the different ranges and types and cliques and personalities that fall under the category of gay instead of some cookie cutter, perfect and "right"?

Shows with straight people show ALL the sides of humans not just the pretty one and yes they have had the upper hand for the longest time but not showing EVERY aspect of a gay community is also just as harmful. If it's equality we are going for we need to be careful not to malign shows that don't fit our political ideal and allow for creators to expand and deliver everything from dark, hard hitting stuff to over the top comedy etc to satisfy and entice new viewers which in turn amplifies the exposure which in turn normalizes (I hate this word but I will use it here) homosexuality in all its realities in a way that wasn't done before. Yes there are some I have seen that make a mockery of gay people by using them as comic relief in the middle of shows but I honestly feel THIS is not one of them. There is not ONE time so far where Toh's sexuality is even questioned or brought up as a negative or made laughable. He's just a horny, weird kid with a maddening crush and a big heart.

If the show in general is not your cup of tea in terms of humor etc I get it. But I think your criticism of it in terms of it making a mockery of homosexuality is far off base. My humble opinion.

HAHAHA!!!! Yep, this fish is on the hook! All caught up and now I'm twiddling my thumbs till the next episode. I broke a rule by watching a series still airing (I like to binge them when they are complete) and its killing me. This show is 2022's dark horse for sure!!! Golden!

I literally just paused episode three (I am at the dorm room scene, shirt off ) to come here to say I AM DYYYYIIIIING!!!! Why is this show so funny?!?!?! oh man, okay back to it. It's supposed to be filler in between shows but honestly it is good in it's own right and "only watching one episode right now" has turned to three. The hilarity!

Binged Not Me over the course of 24 hrs and was left like most of you with a feeling of emptiness at its conclusion and dread for WHAT would fill the void left behind. Opted to watch this show a couple hours after I was done with my binge and let me say it was the PERFECT chaser to a heavy, emotional, complex show that was Not Me. Light but not empty of depth, minimal drama, cute and sweet without being too saccharine, serious topics that could have been handled in a heavy handed manner were dealt with deftly for what its running time was. Loved the siblings' relationship, reminded me of mine and while not ground breaking( geez!! not everything HAS to be to be enjoyable) it was exactly what the drama doctor ordered and I am happy. If you are hesitant to watch it, I suggest saving it for when you need a quick shot of a well written BL and cuteness. Really enjoyed it.

Looking forward to this so much after reading a few comments here. Just got done with Not Me which was above and beyond my expectations (I tend to be skeptical of rave reviews just 'cause it helps keep disappointment at bay). I Read the novel which i loved so here's hoping for a really great show. I usually binge watch shows when they are over but I think this one I will torture myself every week for. We shall see!

Edit: I binge watched it all last night and today. This show was just something else. Incredibly well done. I'm usually more eloquent and wordy in my reviews but today I am keeping it short. Brilliant all the way through, the acting, the development from enemies to lovers, the chemistry among all of them but especially Black/Sean Yok/Dan, the ost. Everything was near perfect. I lost sleep for this and not in the least bit mad about it. Fantastic show that lived up to the hype I had heard about it.

I feel like some people have troubles differentiating "fiction" and "wiki how to".
Absolutely. Comedians can't crack vulgar/ribald jokes, classic literature being banned left and right, words you can and can't use/say, old shows and movies being labeled as bad. It's INSANE!

Thanks for expressing your very sensible views with such clarity and ... firmness! Plus rightly condemning the…
Yeah I swear I am so OVER the word toxic. And yes, as we speak MANY authors that were considered classic are now being revisited and labeled as toxic, misogynistic, and all the other buzz words applied to anything mildly not fitting in with the new PC police. Same with movies. 'They' are going after everything. and as I stated in my reply to another comment its a scary sort of censorship and a dangerous slippery slope. I understand people believe they are somehow creating a perfect world by ridding us of these 'bad' things but a real utopia is when EVERYTHING and everyone's perspective is represented whether you agree with it or not. That is what we should be aspiring to not silencing/nullifying voices whose opinions we oppose.

As a female reading your comment, I was moved and grateful for the male insight you provided. Yes I know about pitting men against one another but it shines a new light on it when the perspective of a man is expressed in the way you did above. Your description of enemies to lovers was visceral and I absolutely love it! it's a theme I love to read about as well (in my mangas, danmeis) . THIS is real life, THIS is the source of a writer's script in all its ugliness, these real life human imperfections and the desire to bring it to life so people like you and me can enjoy it, suffer with our cast of characters through it and ultimately remind us that though life isn't perfect, it's a beautiful thing despite that. I wish people would stop seeing human flaws when displayed in shows/movies etc as bad and instead accept that one size does not fit all.

Precisely. I think they also don't realize that is IS a form of censorship. You are telling an author what they can and can't write about, what topic they should or shouldn't portray in their work. If it's not your thing, just avoid it. It's so simple.

I totally get everything you said and I agree with you a hundred percent.. I still can't believe there are people…
Yeah it seems to be a recent thing too. I understand the world is changing in terms of acceptance, getting rid of patriarchy, racism, homophobia etc and I am overjoyed about that but let's leave the perfection and political correctness out of art and give creators poetic license over their work. It's supposed to challenge us, make us uncomfortable, whisk us away from our daily grinds, entertain us and push our buttons and envelopes. It is also an imitation of life and therefore should reflect REAL life which is sometimes not always perfect. There are enough fairy tales stories of love out there so let's mix it up a little.

Here we goooo! Having read most of the novel (still reading it as I type this long rant ) I KNEW this show was going to cause some waves. Criticism already about the stalker behaviour etc.

Look. I'm not trying to tell anyone what to watch but since when did it become we're not watching characters as they are written to oh my gosh this behavior is toxic/problematic (the two most overused adjectives in use the last couple of years). You know what, being a serial killer/criminal etc is a bad thing too and yet movies and shows depicting these crimes are through the roof and no one seems to really criticize these for being "bad". All human interaction/vice/crimes/sin has been made into movies/ shows so WHY is it that when love/relationships are depicted in a less than sugary perfect way people get up in arms about it? I am seriously asking this question not trying to be judgemental of these critics. Why can't you just watch a show that was written in a certain way with a particular dynamic and just enjoy it that way? Why the moral high horsing and the seeking for only perfection and bubbly happiness? What is it about "love" shows that seems to make people so sensitive to any true/real display of "humaness" when love in all its various forms is in fact the most HUMAN emotion there is?

Nowhere in any of these criticized shows does the creator/actors tell you that this is correct behaviour and the way to go. It's almost as if there is no critical thinking and one's show watching is basically a person looking for art to tell them HOW to live their real lives, as if the critics can't parse/separate fiction from actual human accepted/expected behaviour. THAT is actually more worrisome to me than the trope they don't like/complain about. Basically what they are saying when they lambast these shows is that EVERYTHING we all watch now should only show the best of every character. How utterly dull shows and cinema would be: non-stimulating, boring, repetitive, unrealistic, and just plain UNTRUE. That being said in a world of reviews and tags you should know WAY ahead of time what's coming and prepare yourself accordingly. You know, like when the forecast calls for rain and you leave home with an umbrella/raincoat or for some they stay in altogether? Yeah, if the synopsis says jealousy etc, EXPECT it, prepare for it if heading out or "stay home".

Ok another rant over. Every once in a while I feel compelled to do these. I am grateful for the opportunity this forum gives EVERYBODY to express their opinions. No offense meant to anyone. That being said I am SO SO excited this show was created and am overjoyed "my boys" were brought to the screen!

I loved this show. Yeah its zombies, again, but it had enough depth and good characters and really great acting to carry it and still make it a thrilling watch. I find it "funny" people saying every kdrama out now is dark and violent etc. Meanwhile we've had DECADES of romance and fish kisses and couples not even holding hands, slice of life, romance and fluff and romance and deer in headlights kissing and oh, did I mention, fluffy romance. The ratio between dark and romantic dramas released is not even CLOSE. Those of us who prefer kdramas over Western ones but were getting fatigued from romance are happy that other genres are being explored. It's a positive. As long as they maintain "the feel" that makes kdramas special I'm all for it.

I binged this in two days and here are my thought:s: My BL taste buds are not particular at all. I love the so called toxic shows , the problematic ones, the sweet innocent high school love, the intense sexual shows. I enjoy ALL of it. This show just hit them a little different kinda like how ITSAY, etc did. It was sublime.

With a lot of Thai shows while still very entertaining I find the characters to be just that. Two actors playing roles and doing them well and convincingly. This one, ahh this one, made me feel like I was watching a real thing happen right in front of my eyes. My heart was honestly and thoroughly moved. The development from enemies, to secret friends to lovers hiding from the everyone including their respective friends was so subtle, so nuanced, so REAL and so damn smooth and mature. Sooo many moments of couple cuteness/gestures I lost count. They way these two looked at each other was EVERYTHING especially Parn and those stolen glances at Pat. The naked adoration he showed in his eyes when Pat wasn’t looking, I melted. There was one in the elevator that just made me wish I was a teenager again remembering that new feeling of unabashedly falling for someone.

That kiss oh my that kiss, both bursting with relief at finally letting go, the discovery of mutual feelings, longing and yearning. I kept hitting the back button to relive the rush but of course like everything else the first one was the best cause you didn’t see it coming. Lol I watch a LOT of different genres and I watch a lot of romance dramas AND movies. When you've been through the relationship wringer a few times I find most are enjoyable enough but few love stories really hit me on a visceral level like this one where I felt like Gosh I wanna feel that again, I want to gradually fall into love with someone again the way these two did. It was funny, it never dragged, it was beautiful and hands down one of the best BL experiences I’ve ever had. Bravo to everyone involved. Just, BRAVO! Definitely on my rewatch list. I LOVED LOVED LOVED IT.
