Thank you 😘 😊 I feel in general it’s just human nature to pick sides, it’s easier, and often we gravitate toward the character whose sense of morality aligns more closely with our own. But honestly, if characters are written well (villains included)we should be able to step into their mindset and understand how they think, even when we don’t agree with what they do. Even people who commit awful things don’t usually believe they’re evil. They rationalise, justify, or genuinely believe they’re right. And that’s the fascinating part of character exploration, understanding doesn’t equal excusing the same goes for the characters we love, just because we understand their trauma or choices doesn’t mean we should excuse the harm they cause and the butterfly effect they create with their actions. ps. I really need enemies to allies tomorrow, like I'm gonna 🤯 💥

In her defense, the show treated her multiple murder attempts like a sitcom gag. Like, “Haha, he almost killed her again, cue the laugh track!” Meanwhile, he gets full Oscar-bait misery with sad Liu Yuning eyes, tragic soundtrack (sang by Liu Yuning), and dramatic slowmo zoomins of Liu Yuning sad face. Of course we all (myself included) sympathise more with Tragic Suffering ML. Meanwhile, she’s out here getting nearly burned alive by the majority of audience to the sound of clown music 😭😅🤣

When I get stuck in too much angst, I try to pause watching and just stack up episodes until I know the torture arc is over, so I can binge it all in one emotional burst with a guaranteed resolution. 😅I do fast-forward in dramas I’m not super attached to, especially during those "let me suffer for 10 episodes straight" segments.
But when it’s a show I actually love? Skipping feels like I’m losing the magic. I mean, I could fastforward if I promise myself I’ll go back and rewatch properly later… but let’s be honest, that almost never happens. That said I’ve definitely done exactly what you described during certain dramas, because I was going through some real life suffering and didn’t need the TV adding ulcer level emotional trauma on top of it. 😭😉Self-preservation comes first

Yes, but like… can you seriously imagine this version of Nan Heng going around killing innocents just because he was wronged by people in his life? I can’t. I get where the sentiment comes from, the trauma, the betrayal, the lifelong psychological torment etc. And maybe it’s just me, but when I look at trauma and injustice, there’s always a line. And the easiest thing in the world is to cross it and become what hurt you. But not everyone does.At least from my own real-life experience, the fact that someone doesn’t snap, doesn’t let themselves spiral into full blown destruction mode, actually says more than any tragic backstory ever could. So yeah, I do understand the darker script version, but this NH? He’s already carrying more than enough and i dont want to add mass murder to his résumé, I wouldn't want that even in a imaginary scenario, he suffered enough 🥲

ps. I just want her to be the one to go to him from now on. I feel he did enough, and he needs to stop running after her. It is her turn; I believe in equal rights

Honestly, from my point of view, they both did wrong, he did try to kill her multiple times. And I’m not talking about the version of him in the “original evil ML script” I mean this very man right here, in this version. But on the other side? She matched those attempted murders with her own brand of torture, emotional homicide. She didn’t stab him (actually she did once and plotted to kill him too) she just ripped his soul out and stepped on it over and over again.
So yeah, in my personal ledger, they’re on equal footing at this point. And now I’m just begging the drama gods can we please be done with this part of the loop? Let’s move on. Enemies to allies arc when? I hope from tomorrow

at this point it’s not about truth, not about justice, definitely not about the woman he allegedly loves. It’s Nan Heng. It’s always been Nan Heng. Since age nine, this man has been living a one-sided epic love hate saga where every diary entry just reads: "Dear Nan Heng, I hate you so much I want to destroy you." His hopes? Nan Heng. His dreams? Nan Heng. His twisted revenge plot with layers of emotional damage? Still Nan Heng. Everyone else is just background noise in his life 😭🤣

🤣🤣 Oh absolutely! At this point, they’re so even. He tried to commit actual homicide (by trying to murder her over and over again), and she’s been emotionally waterboarding him for 24 episodes straight (plus stabbing). call it karmic balance, it’s time to shake hands, kiss (maybe), and finally move on 😭😅💀

He didn't turn like that in the original script because of the FL; she was sweet, innocent, and nice. He is different here because the script was edited, and the FL, as well, is a different person/personality. I can't see him ever cross the line to be a full villain like he was in the original script just because he is tormented by everyone, he has quite a strong personality to still stand there with all this abuse

Just push through it, at least his masked gang of misfits are always ride-or-die, so he’s not completely alone. We’ve officially reached the peak of his Suffering Era… starting tomorrow, it’s uphill

NH did change; he isn't the person FL is accusing him of being. Remember, the manager of the actor asked for script changes, so when the actress FL got into the story, she is in the new script, and she is changing it by being part of it too, even if the main plot points are still there, but many other things are changing around the main plot points

At least the plot is finally moving,took them long enough! I genuinely thought we were doomed to spend eternity in Misunderstanding Purgatory. Sure, they didn’t actually talk it out (because why use words when you can suffer in silence, stutter, stop talking mid sentence or walk away?), but hey, I’m just happy the main plot is finally crawling forward. ps. maybe NH wasn't lucky in many things but surely he has amazing masked friends

Don’t worry, you can binge all the way up to the latest episode without losing your mind yes, there’s drama between the leads (as usual), but at least it feels like they’re finally laying the groundwork for some resolution (fingers crossed for tomorrow 🤞). Episode 24 ends on a cliffhanger, of course, because why not keep torturing us? But honestly, you can already imagine how it’ll go down, as well cliffhanger not related to the leads relationship but the plot
