I’m starting to think the ML’s manager was very committed to making sure all the spotlight went to him because wow, the level of suffering, screen time, and emotional weight he gets is unmatched 🥲. His pain is apparently the centerpiece of the entire script universe

I actually like FL a lot. What frustrates me is the writing. Whoever’s behind the story just isn’t giving her the development she deserves. And by “development,” I don’t mean falling for the ML or suddenly understanding his pain or whatever cliché they might throw in. I mean actual depth. We need to see who she is beyond the comedic lens.Nan Heng’s character has been given that kind of attention. It feels lopsided like one of them is in a drama and the other is still in a satire. I really like the FL as a comedic character she’s charming and fun but now that the show is leaning more into serious character development and emotional depth, especially for the ML, she’s starting to feel left behind.You can’t have one character trapped in perpetual comic relief while the other is spiraling through tortured, misunderstood soul mode. It creates a weird tonal disconnect that’s hard to ignore 🤷🏼‍♀️ but regardless i love this show so much, hope that FL will have her character growth soon

Unfortunately what ML is going through at the hands of the Emperor isn’t tough love, it’s calculated cruelty. There’s nothing redemptive or character building about being systematically broken down, humiliated, and mentally abused.If the show ever tries to reframe all of that as some twisted form of fatherly love, it crosses into truly disturbing territory 😨😱

I’m sure Shangguang will get his own character arc eventually (and bring some.fun in her life), and honestly, I’m just relieved it’s not Nan Rui 😱. The moment I saw him showing interest in her and knowing we’re in a trope-filled script, I was bracing myself for the worst, thinking they’d eventually make her fall for him 🤮🤢

She was literally thrown into a trope filled script and she was the first one rolling her eyes at how cliché everything was. The whole setup is clearly poking fun at the very tropes it's built on, and she should be some kind of our 'in universe audience surrogate'

I think the Emperor, in the original story (the one they are making a movie from), exists solely as a plot device, his only job is to inflict pain and trauma on the ML to justify whatever the ML becomes later in the script. That’s it. no nuance, no complexity, just royal grade abuse on demand 😅😅😅😅 thats why im scared he will get some.kind of redemption arc

In my opinion, it will be a tragic one in the script world with a happy ending in the real world, or something like that 🤔 I guess the actor from episode 1 will have the memories of NH once she goes back. that's my prediction 😎

In my opinion, the focus has been almost entirely on the ML in these past couple of episodes, which hasn’t left much space for the FL’s development. I’m guessing her arc will pick up soon, though,they’ve already started laying the groundwork as her sister pointed out that she needs to start actually living in this world, and the ML called her out for being a bit too cold and calculating with her plotting. So I think some kind of turning point or epiphany is on the horizon for her at least, I hope so

Nang Heng and Chu Gui Hong act like a divorced couple who ruined their marriage not because of fate or tragedy, but because they’re experts in miscommunication, blaming each other, and dodging even the most basic emotional honesty. And of course, not even by accident do they say something that could clear things up God forbid someone slips up and solves the conflict 😅😅😅😅
