Maybe I’m mixing her up with others, but all I really remember is “gege, gege, gege” on an endless loop of torment. She’s already hit rock bottom on the annoying scale and she’s camping there. So really, the only way is up. Fingers crossed she matures and becomes borderline bearable. I know she’s supposed to be an immature child....... but still. I just can’t🫣

This drama is honestly too complex for me to summarise properly, given that I’ve basically forgotten the plot 😅 with all that political intrigue, strategy, betrayal etc. The gist is that the ml is the adopted son of a powerful family. He’s sent to the border, comes back with military merit, and then along with his sworn brothers starts scheming behind the scenes to take down the corruption within the kingdom. And if I’m not mistaken, there’s also a larger war brewing beyond the borders. So yes, a lot to keep up with 🙄

Ah, now I get it! The misunderstanding. I wasn't talking about Liu Yuning, but Ning, the female character in EB. ps. 🤭🤭 The hair/wigs are always hit or miss 😅

Even if it’s not on the same level as some other dramas, it can still be considered a masterpiece within its own genre which is primarily romance (so not really comparable woth NiF). And when compared to similar dramas, it is actually very good. Would it have been better if it stayed more serious and closer to the novel? probably. But even with the changes, it’s still a very good drama, a masterpiece for some, and not for others. That’s normal.That said, if someone wants to criticise it, that’s totally fair but the way it’s said matters. Dismissing other people’s enjoyment or being sarcastic about it doesn’t open discussion, it just puts people on the defensive. And once someone feels offended, they stop listening. That’s not how meaningful debate works it just becomes noise

With many cdramas, the problem is always the same: they start well, lose their way in the middle with many unnecessary scenes, and have rushed endings

it did but the way it was done it genuinely felt like one of those stories where the writer already had a sad, devastating ending planned from the beginning and no matter how much plot armor the characters had throughout the series, that ending had to happen. So they just started dropping like flies.You could literally feel it: Ah yes, this one? Time to go. And this one? Also gone. Let’s just keep knocking them off.At some point, I wasn’t even crying anymore it was just "Ding! Another one down 😅". It stopped being emotional and started feeling like a grim checklist 🥲
