I think they did a great job with the leads, honestly. But unfortunately… it did came at the expense of somebody else 😅 This happens way too often, mostly they do it to the leads. Like suddenly making the FL act absurdly clueless just so the ML can swoop in and be the hero, or turning her into a perfect, all knowing Mary Sue while the ML becomes a lovesick golden retriever with no personality beyond “I love her, I'm obsessed". I think we can't have it all 😅

It felt so unnecessary and completely disconnected from the rest of the drama. Like… did they film those scenes, toss them in a folder called “Maybe Later,” and then go, “Hey wait, that one image of XH with the necklace in his mouth is going viral quick, slap a tragic montage and glue it to the finale!” It genuinely gave off deleted scene resurrected by popular aesthetics energy 🥲

😭😭😭😭😭 Please don't ever remind me of those completely pointless parts of that drama that exist for one reason only: to give them a "beautiful death." Like wow, congrats, they died aesthetically. They literally added those scenes for ✨vibes✨. I'm still grieving, emotionally and narratively 🤧 I want just to erase from my mind that last part of The Double 🥲

It’s always the same in dramas, the side characters are sacrificed just to make the leads shine brighter. As if the only way to highlight the main character’s strength or virtue is by dimming everyone else around them. But good writing doesn’t need to do that. The leads can stand out without undermining or throwing other characters under the bus.It’s frustrating, especially when secondary characters are used as emotional collateral or plot obstacles. This is one of those rare instances where I can't pick the side. I think his anger mostly comes from the fact that she probably wouldn't have told him ( at least not yet) if this situation hadn’t forced her hand. And to be fair, she wasn't completely sure if he had truly let go of his vengeance plans… and honestly, neither was he until it came down to this moment. So yeah, I totally get why he’s mad, i’d be even more angry if i were in his shoes. But at the same time… I also understand her. I probably would’ve done the same thing withheld the info just in case. So honestly, it all depends on whose perspective I’m looking from and when I switch, my sympathy flips with it too 😅

What really frustrates me about the cousin is how she constantly uses that poor man like he’s some brainless toyboy. Okay, maybe he’s not the sharpest sword in the armory,but he’s loyal and kind and she knows it. Instead of appreciating him, she manipulates him (like she has before) just because she can. And after everything the FL did for her and their family? She owes her morally. The least she could do was talk to her husband and make a joint decision. But from what I'm seeing in comments… apparently not. I get that she wants a peaceful life, who doesn’t? But this isn’t the kind of story where you get to opt out. the first scene I saw her in, and it immediately put me off. The fact that she carelessly pushed a pregnant woman and showed no real concern , except for being flustered because she found the male lead attractive, really set the tone for me. It’s hard to get behind a character after that kind of introduction, no matter what growth might come later

Yeah, she's totally giving me Emma vibes, but I think Emma was even more out of touch (from how things are in the real world) than Ming Tan, at least from what I've seen so far 😅 but yes definitely Emma kind od character
