Yes he is kind of a male consort. If they follow the novel no, the Princess stays as a positive character helping…
I don't know if it's the acting, but she does give me creepy vibes when they are together, more than romantic energy 😅🤣 And him as well… there’s just something a bit off about him.
I like this story but rating is low shoul start this drama?
If you’ve got a bit of time, try watching the first three episodes. You’ll know pretty quickly whether it’s your cup of tea or not. Personally, I don’t like it too much but i am still watching it. Some people really enjoy it, others can’t stand it, so honestly you won’t know until you give it a go 😉
okay, is it me who really thinks the ML is the former crown prince and not whoever this person who was assumed…
ML is absolutely the real prince. Let’s be honest, it would have been a brilliant twist if he wasn't, but this drama isn’t exactly aiming for mindbending surprises. It’s pretty simple and leans heavily into classic tropes. All the signs are right there: the fake prince’s reactions, the whole “don’t you remember?” moment, and even his reactions on the father decisions (him being hurt for being basically discarted for the prince). The second they introduced the lost prince storyline, it was clear the ML had to be him
So TLC told Liu Yan the actual truth of Fang Zhou but he is too corrupted with dark powers and hatred to believe…
Megumi, we’ve been over this… the answer is death, it’s always death. Only by dying 😅. And anyway, he’s so utterly obsessed with TLC that the only redemption arc he could ever have is being forgiven for his evil deeds by TLC (as he draws his last breath) 😅
wow 7.9. is it that bad? or is it like the double that rose later?
Don’t think too much about the current rating it usually takes a couple of weeks to settle, and I do think some people tried to drag it down early. That said, I personally find something a bit off in the story and in how the main characters are portrayed. weirdly enough, I enjoyed the ML’s older brother more.
A few key scenes that should’ve been impactful just felt awkward instead. The sword dance, for example, came across as cringe rather than powerful, and that emotional coffin scene was completely thrown off by the FL’s sudden arrival and declaration. There are several moments like that scenes that should land, but feel slightly out of rhythm.
It’s difficult to describe….. almost like the whole thing is shifted one inch out of place. You’re watching, and you can’t quite pinpoint what’s wrong, but the timing, tone, and emotional beats just don’t sit right in my opinion. Still watchable, but so far it hasn’t really clicked for me, but it is only ep 12 so anything can happen 😉
The latest eps shows that Liu Yan is so blinded by hate that he is also corrupted by some dark forces resulting…
When it’s a close friend or family member, they tend to get some kind of redemption it’s practically written into the drama laws at this point. Talking about revenge dramas, redemption arc is nothing if compared to when someone spends 40 episodes plotting their grand revenge, finally gets the murderer who killed their family, ruined their life and destroyed everything right there, ready to finish them, then suddenly decides, ‘You know what? I’m better than you. I’ll let you live.’ Like...what? 😅🤣

I know, but it is a cdrama, they always have a redemption arc around the corner or something to explain the character behaviour when the behaviour is inexcusable 😅

I still haven't watched ep 14, the last time I checked, the subtitles were bad. Anyway, he can't survive, that's for sure (considering the morality, etc in cdramas). So his redemption will probably be realsing he was manipulated (by that unknown person from the character relationship chart) and TLC is innocent. He let his hate and whatever else was going on in him (maybe he was jealous too that TLC was the successor) consume him. He will throw himself in front of TLC to save his life or something like that. I do hope I am wrong and it will not be just a last minute sacrifice, and that he can have a proper, full redemption arc before he dies
Is there any romance in this drama .. Bcx i cant see tag
No romance for the main character, but he is shippable with anyone. If they decided to do any romance, his pairing could be the rest of the cast 😅 but seriously i dont think there will be any real palpable romance
Liu Yan’s whole crusade is peak self delusion. He sees TLC as a monster, so he sets up traps where regular folks die and then uses those deaths as proof of TLC’s ‘evilness’ (monsterness 🤣) just because he is passing by. Like bro, really? You’re literally creating massacres to prove a point that only exists because you said so 😅 Let me avenge Fang Zhou the man preaching world peace, love, riding unicorns and playing music under cherry blossoms and rainbows by manipulating people and letting innocent population killed, but it’s fine because obviously it’s all TLC’s fault 😅
Me, every time I open MangoTV: maybe this time the subs will make sense… Not! Why can’t I take a hint and just wait for proper subs like a sane person… why WHYYYYY 🥲
Calling TLC as monster seems to be a repetitive label, happens quite a few ep. They are such a bully, do they…
Liu Yan is the first one to brainwash himself into believing Tang Li Ci is the monster, because deep down he knows that he became the real one. In his obsessive quest for revenge, he abandoned everything righteous and his followers are just echoing that delusion. He needs TLC to be the monster, because otherwise he’d have to face what he’s turned into. I’m guessing at some point he’ll realise the truth, go through a redemption arc, and end up dying to save TLC, probably in his arms, with some tragic flashback to when they were still happy… ideally with TLC’s music compositi9n playing in the background for maximum heartbreak 😆
Ep 34, MY finally realises what JBZ has done for her…totally love brain JBZ😍.
I was so busy these past weeks that I didn't have time for anything, but I used the little time left to watch this series, like a crazy person! Even today, I forfeited my social life so I could watch the express 😅 when was the last time we watched a series where the main characters were likeable and not stupid? when? I dont remember 😆
Wow, I’m up to episode 4, at this point, I wish Lin Yan would kill the entire family already, their getting…
I am at episode 3 and having problems with the family, too. Maybe if the show was completely a comedy, I would have no problems with them, but they are just so exaggerated so far when compared with the rest of the characters. Probably they will tone them down eventually, but still, I don't know they feel like characters who came to the wrong filming set 🥲😅
Not hating but I do not get Manamis crush on Kaoru. At what point and why does she start to like him?he was using…
I think it’s because of the contrast you mentioned,Kaoru is juvenile but also genuinely caring, and his unrestrained behaviour is the total opposite of how Manami was raised. She feels drawn to that difference, even if it’s not exactly healthy. At the same time, Kaoru himself is starved for a real emotional connection. He’s never really been cared for his mum always put him down, his teachers ignored the fact he was dyslexic and made him feel unworthy and stupid, all the adults in his life failed him. So when someone finally sees him and cares, it hits him harder than it would most people
I think it's 26-27, he died by spirit fire, but I didn't find his death painful enough
he had maybe the most peaceful death. when I go, I hope it’s like him: no regrets. His whole life plan went up in flames, but he didn’t care. He was so zen about it, like, ‘Well, that was fun. Later, losers"
