I think it's 26-27, he died by spirit fire, but I didn't find his death painful enough
Yeah, I wish that he was at least scared or something😬. He was more like, "Well, that's that, bye." 😅

No, he was even satisfied with himself before he died 😑

Ratings when a show just starts is meaningless. Most of the people rate it when they finish watching it or drop…
Honestly, I feel this is more of a website issue. ratings for shows that are still airing shouldn’t even be allowed. A lot of people go on crusades giving low scores for the pettiest reasons, but by the time a show finishes, they’ve usually already moved on to something else. Ratings should only open once the full show has aired, so at least they’d come mostly from people who actually watched it through or from those who dropped it but felt strongly enough, positive or negative, to come back and rate it

I wish they had just given her a dagger or even a small axe for close combat. It would have looked so much smoother and made sense, because if you’re an archer you need a secondary weapon.you can’t realistically use a bow and arrow at close range there’s no space or momentum for a proper shot. Maybe the writers thought it looked cool on camera, but it really doesn’t. Same with her using arrows as daggers like, no. Why not give her actual knives? Imagine how cinematic (and accurate) it would look if she fought with short blades alongside her bow. That would have been genuinely badass 😬

yes, he did but his persona still comes across as very childlike, even outside his interactions with her in these early episodes. I suppose it’s necessary for the plot since his original self is the complete opposite, this way, he can gradually learn how to care for others from this more vulnerable state. i confess the tone of voice he uses really reminds me of when FLs in dramas do that baby-talk voice only this time it’s the male version 😅🤣. Still, I’m enjoying it so far! After so many dramas that misled me with their trailers and ended up being nothing like what was promised, this one actually delivers exactly what the promos suggested. so i am happy so far

I’m on episode 5, and I can’t help but notice that his amnesiac adult self feels more childish than his actual child version. To stay immersed, I tell myself it’s because he’s lost access to his superpower on daily basis 😅

I had to pause the drama because I'm so scared for Mudan. I am having flashbacks to season one when Liu Chang…
he’s so disgusting I wanted to crawl into the screen and 💀 him myself. This morning I completely gave in and watched episodes 21 and 22 with the most chaotic subtitles known to humankind.I know I’ll have to rewatch the same episodes on Viki. It just feels bad to finish this show with 70% comprehension, so let's see if I can resist the temptation of watching episodes 23 and 24 on mangotv...At the end, except for the mother's arc, I did enjoy the rest of season 2. They could have just excluded some unnecessary arcs and developed the others better, it is a pity

Seriously did she have to go face him by herself? Could she not have waited for YC? It’s this whole new superwoman…
I thought she decided to lure him to set a trap together with YC, maybe he is just late 😅

The introduction of the story and characters is super fast like they rush through the setup just to jump into the case-solving plot as soon as possible. From the moment the leads see each other, there’s already a spark. He starts liking her almost immediately, clearly impressed by her many talents, while she’s totally oblivious to it,her mind is in another dimension, fully focused on her goals. He plans to use her skills to help solve the prince’s murder, but he’s also respectful and kind, and honestly feels more like her sidekick so far. The first case wraps up by episode 5, and episode 6 kicks off a new one. Tropes spotted so far: dramatic water fall + perfect escape from arrows, secret identity, and the legendary 'just happened to help the exact right person by pure plot luck' career boost, all in the first part of ep 1 😆

But till he is heir he is crown prince i think.
Yes, I went full psycho-mode and went quickly through the episodes. In episode 6, when they’re discussing the power struggle between the Crown Prince and Prince Cheng, ML mentions that his father (General of the Shuoxi Army)went to earn military merits for the Emperor. He adds that, because of the internal power struggle, everyone is eyeing the Shuoxi army as a political weapon, and he knows the Emperor won’t tolerate either him or his father much longer. Since his father is Prince Rui, it confirms that he’s from another branch of the royal family (likely the Emperor’s brother or cousin). So technically, being the Emperor’s nephew doesn’t disqualify him from becoming Crown Prince. If there are no surviving direct heirs, or if the Emperor adopts him, or if there’s a power shift in court, his branch could be elevated to the throne

I think he's the heir to the Emperor’s brother, not the actual imperial crown prince. But I might be wrong, I’m watching too many dramas at the same time and my brain is running a shared universe of confusion 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

Even if it’s too predictable in this case, at least it makes sense. I’ll take an obvious killer over those shows that pull some random character out of the editing bin and go, 'Surprise! They did it!', with zero buildup, no clues, just for shock value. Like... thanks for wasting my brain cells 😅

When I watch 🇺🇸 TV shows, I have a tell on who the killer is, I swear it’s 99% of the time the actor or actress I recognise the most 😅🤣 Like if they’ve been in three other shows I’ve seen, yeah, they did it. Cdramas are different though, it’s more like: they’re too nice, the camera lingers on them a second too long, or they suddenly get a tragic backstory out of nowhere… and boom, you just know 😆 Sometimes it’s obvious, sometimes it’s a slow burn, but the clues are always there

The Qin residence is more terrifying than just being a regular person. What is this? A serial killer and syphilis…
No, because antibiotics only became available in modern times (second world war?) and even with them, any damage caused by syphilis before treatment is usually permanent

This is just Shen Wan's "make-up" (half-truth/half lie) backstory. The novel changed her origin story a bit since…
Thanks, that’s actually what I was thinking too that Shen Wan’s family had a residence in the medical valley, but her father was still based in the capital due to his official duties. So when the murder happened and he fled the capital, he probably went to the valley to get Shen Wan. Qin was helping them all escape, and then the events we see in the first two minutes of the drama unfolded

Thanks for the detailed reply! I get that dramas often adapt reincarnation/transmigration differently, but I’m still confused about the timeline of the Prince of Jin case. If Shen Wan had been in the valley for years (long enough to gain medical skills and build relationships), how is her family’s downfall still treated as a recent event? It feels like either the case is old, and the family had been in hiding until recently discovered, or maybe she returned to the capital at some point and the accusations came after? I'm not confused about the identity swap just trying to make sense of when things actually happened. so please help me with the timeline 🥲😅, even if it's based on the novel timeline just to have some sense for now, maybe the drama will explore it later on better 😵‍💫 ps. so i just want to know when Prince Jin was killed in time

Title Coroner's Diary Spoiler
Was going to ask; how was this thing for those who started watching?
I'm only on episode 2 so far, and while the setup is a bit confusing, the premise definitely has potential. The first few minutes really threw me off; they felt rushed, almost like the start of a low budget minidrama. Everything happens so fast, with barely any buildup. It’s just: tragedy strikes, she escapes, assumes a new identity all within 2 minutes. There’s barely any emotional depth or proper pacing. It honestly felt like the writers were in a hurry to skip the backstory and jump straight into the main plot. They could’ve easily spent one full episode showing her with her family, how she ended up in the valley, how she learned medicine… anything to make the transition into the identity swap more impactful and more emotional. But on the bright side from episode 1, you already know what kind of show this is going to be (whether it's going for serious tone or trope heavy entertainment). So at least it won’t mislead you like Princess Gambit, which started off looking like a serious drama and then derailed into a mess of plot holes and nonstop tropes. With Coroner’s Diary, you get the tone straight away, so you’re not left with false expectations. That said, I really like the idea of the FL being both a medical expert and a coroner. The forensic angle in a historical setting is totally my kind of story, so I’m curious to see how that unfolds
