He can be one of the main characters without being pulled into some senseless love triangle, especially considering there is not much room between the leads for him to fit in. So I hope they will not ruin the story with some random storyline pulled out of nowhere just to add cheap drama. He does seem to admire her from afar; I'm not sure if it would develop into something more serious. Hopefully, he will have some good storyline of his own, even though I remember that in one trailer or promo he was saying something about remembering old times (school times) when he was innocent and naive or something along those lines, but maybe I remember incorrectly 🫢 Definitely, there is more to the character in future episodes

I also love that even though they care about each other in their own ways, they still have their own goals. In most dramas, one of the characters becomes just an accessory to the other person and loses their own personality. JL was like that with her ex-husband. But I hate it when that happens to the main characters. For example, a male lead who loses most of his personality after developing feelings and becomes this enamored, brainless person, or the same thing happens to the female lead, and in the story, they exist solely to aid the other person when necessary 🥲 So their slow-burn partnership here is very nice to see, the way they are to each other without losing their core personalities

It was as if she was being viewed through the lenses of men in her society 😅, prioritizing her beauty as her primary attribute when the drama revolves around her intelligence and resilience

I was really impressed that they didn't forget to include some claustrophobia when she went down the mine. I mean, after she was buried alive, she must be traumatized by small and dark places. 😱

A joke or one-sentence punchline can be funny, but it loses its humour when repeated too many times; that's how I felt for the maid 🤣

They can cut out so much of the comedic scenes, as they are already too lengthy. 😅 Hopefully, they will not butcher the rest. But I have this feeling that the last episodes are longer and have many important and serious scenes. 😱🥲

I believe the drama has already established its overall tone, so the remaining episodes will likely follow a similar pattern—a blend of drama and comedy to prevent it from becoming excessively dark. Many productions adopt this approach to appeal to a broader audience that might not be drawn to a consistently serious and somber narrative. I haven't read the original novel yet but it seems to align more closely with your expectations. I intend to read it after completing the show to gain a different feel of the story. If you were fastforwarding to this point in the drama, you would likely continue to do so for the majority of it. And as is typical of c drama, the last episodes will probably be more dramatic and dark. Ps. Right now in the story, she has moved from the capital to the region she and the original JL family are from, so there is a change of environment and characters.

My only problem were the two maids. They were so over-the-top that it was becoming annoying, but luckily they are not there anymore. As for the comedy, I suppose later on it will become very dramatic, so the comedic parts will not last too many episodes, but it will be here and there just to break up the drama. I prefer more serious tones as well, but i did laugh at some scenes 🫢😁

I was waiting for so long for that one, but I still didn't start it as it doesn't seem good. Maybe when I finish everything else, I can give it a try as I was excited for it, but then I wasn't really impressed by the trailer and some scenes I watched on YouTube.

The comedic part is probably not to your liking. I think they like to introduce comedy to make it less dramatic. I still haven't read the novel

Sure, but according to their standards, a gifted lady is more about what a woman/wife should be in terms of talents and beauty, rather than her true intelligence. When they introduced her to us as a wife, that was the ideal talented lady they were referring to. But she is a clever and strategic woman, which sets her apart from that description that was only showing her as an ideal woman of the time to be someone's wife

Yes, I was thinking something along these lines, especially thanks to her father, etc. But if they could address this at some point, it would be the chef's kiss for me. It doesn't need to be a long explanation; just a few brief details about her past would suffice. That would make everything perfect for me. 😁
