I tend to stick her scenes in 1.5x speed and lower the volume for the sake of my ears (and my sanity...whatever…
I still donโ€™t get it. This isnโ€™t even a danmei novel, so why are they going overboard with this? For some reason, now men canโ€™t have male friends. Also, Ning exists in the novel, so they had to include her. But why do they always make adult women act like children? Itโ€™s so strange. They talk like children, act like children, throw tantrums like childrenโ€ฆ they are petulant and unreasonable. Even the children I work with are more mature and thoughtful than these types of characters, and they are in the nursery ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚

Same here. I donโ€™t think Iโ€™ll miss anything there except for keeping my mental health intact. Also, her acting is just so over-the-top and strange, regardless of the three-year-oldโ€™s attitude. Oh, and the dubbing in general here isnโ€™t the best, but hers is a whole new level of bad ๐Ÿฅฒ

@SakuraDreamSpot on! This is my complaint about the princess as well. She's too damn childish. And it seems she…
Unfortunately, many male-centric dramas feature two-dimensional female characters whose sole purpose is to love the ML without any reason or development (or a life outside of their love). Typically, they are devoted childhood friends obsessing over the ML. ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜† If it is not this trope, a girl will appear out of nowhere, and her family/background/ability will be important to move the plot and help the ML ๐Ÿ™ƒ

is she a spy?
I think she was a spy in the novel, but she got turned by Xiu, and she worked for him. I'm not sure in this version if that happened, has to happen, or will never happen. ๐Ÿคฃ

If it helps, I remember that they do not end up together, and he eventually ends up with someone else (I think some female general or something like that, and I think he had different love interests/harem)... I might be mistaken, as I read the novel almost 10 years ago ๐Ÿ˜… and I never finished it (I think) ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜… can't really remember... maybe I'm mixing it up with some other novel ๐Ÿคฃ

It seems it is a trope used in both C-dramas and K-dramas (Love Song for Illusion features a character assaulting an intoxicated guy so she could get pregnant). I don't think anybody would say anything if the roles were reversed; when you think about it, there are so many abusive male leads and mostly nobody cares when they abuse female leads. As dramas, it is okay to show us the disgusting parts of humanity. However, it is disturbing when they present it as a comedy or even romantic in some cases ๐Ÿคฎ

Finally, something to watch! I hope it is good after waiting for it for so long. I read part of the original novel a long time ago, and I remember almost nothing about it. ๐Ÿ˜… I guess it will be loosely based on it anyway. Now I have to wait until I get home from work to start watching. ๐Ÿ˜… Whoever managed to watch the first six episodes, was it interesting???

That scene was so messed up and problematic, and I hated how they tried to make it funny. At least she didn't go through with it, but I can't say the same for the Empress in Fighting for Love. ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜’ The kid in the last scene is supposed to be the main couple's future son. I guess they wanted to leave the ending open to interpretation or something, because without him it's clear that they're reuniting in a dream or the afterlife. But with the kid there, it could be that they're alive and just imagining their friends being there or something. I don't know, it's a weird ending no matter how you look at it.

I could love this drama so much more if they just tone down the alcohol consumption. It's jarring as well as disturbing.…
It is particularly concerning when someone, especially a medical professional, engages in heavy alcohol consumption while taking antidepressants. As a doctor, she should be well aware of the potentially dangerous effects on her physical and/or mental health. With some antidepressants you can still drink but with moderation... but she is drinking like an alcoholic at this point ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜… Additionally, she has gone to a psychiatrist and received medication, but she has not sought therapy from a psychologist (at least not that is shown) ๐Ÿค” Not sure in general why being so drunk is portrayed as something funny and "cute" in dramas. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ But this show is anything but serious, so I guess we just accept it as it is ๐Ÿฅฒ

I was stuck on episode 10 for ages and today decided to give it my all to watch the rest of the episodes that have aired in the meantime. Only two more to go and then I can put this one behind me. The ending of episode 14 was so badly written, unnecessary, and had no emotional impact... except for annoyance, I guess. At least the OST is really nice and I did enjoy most of ML's acting, I think ๐Ÿ˜…

you being fr rn? You want a spirit and an evil spirit at that to end up with a human, is that what you're saying…
I understand. I'm just saying, considering the overall drama, I just wish they would come up with something different. Regardless of whether we've read the webtoon, that ending is so typical. ๐Ÿ™„ He was literally a plot device they used to get the leads together and keep the plot moving. Once he's no longer needed, he needs to be discarded, but at least make it something new. The self-sacrificial martyrdom trope is so overdone for this kind of character. Two more episodes, and we'll see how they're going to wrap it up. ๐Ÿ˜‰

you being fr rn? You want a spirit and an evil spirit at that to end up with a human, is that what you're saying…
Sad endings have an impact only when they are written well. Based on what we've gotten so far, I don't have much faith in these scriptwriters. In the webtoon, Akhee wasn't an evil spirit, so the ending made sense. Here (if they don't change their minds in the end), he is an entity of his own, so they could give him a life of his own. I just wanted something different to surprise me. A demon letting go of his obsession ๐Ÿ˜… ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚ I know very well it is going only towards the typical K-drama ending

you being fr rn? You want a spirit and an evil spirit at that to end up with a human, is that what you're saying…
This production is already a mess, so they could easily come up with a hundred ways for him to be alive and happy. The story's lore isn't even well-developed in the first place. Asking for something different from what we all know the typical ending will be would be too innovative ๐Ÿ˜…

you being fr rn? You want a spirit and an evil spirit at that to end up with a human, is that what you're saying…
Because until now, they have completely changed many characters and plots from the webtoon. I just hope they will let Akhee be free, have a body of his own, and a life of his own. He can travel and one day find someone who will love him back instead of pining forever for her and sacrificing himself completely. I never wanted him with the FL anyway, since she never looked at him in that way. Merging together or dying by sacrificing himself is the most unoriginal thing they could do. I wasn't the biggest fan of the webtoon, and I dropped it, but I did check the last chapters when they came out.

I'm wondering if it's good. VIki rates it at 9.8, MDL 7.6
Don't bother too much with Viki because, normally, as the show drops, it is only rated by the fans of the show. The rating usually goes down in a few days and then settles on a rating that usually stays over time. As for MDL, a lot of people already voted when the series was on MangoTV with their famously horrible auto-translated subs. In general, you should just try a couple of episodes if you like the synopsis and see for yourself as ratings are not very truthful

This is cringe, but in a sort of a funny almost cute way (so far) ๐Ÿ˜… It feels like a less serious, lower-budget, shorter version of Word of Honor. I guess it is based on a danmei novel from the general vibe and that girl chasing one of the guys without any meaning in the story except, I guess, to pass the censorship (comment based on the first 3 mini-episodes/or a whole viki episode).
