He and his mother apologized when he was a child. There was absolutely no need for him to be dragged through the mud like this. I hate it when this happens to anyone, but I think it's especially brutal when it happens to celebrities. It's just the stupidest thing to hold a man accountable for something he did in 5th grade and apparently apologized for IN 5TH GRADE. I'm not even his fan, but this is ridiculous and I feel bad for him and I hate that he felt pressured to apologize when he absolutely did not need to do that.
What am I even watching? I'm learning a lot right now about how people gaslight and are master manipulators, even…
All right, so I finished it. Are there problems? Yes, quite a few. But the air got cleared a little bit at the end. I do still feel that the relationship is semi-toxic since he was a jerk for so long and she just took it, and I'm not hopeful that he'll suddenly just start being nice or even that she wants him to be nice, which is even creepier. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either.

Yep, she's messed up. Only a girl who's gone through serious conditioning would think something's wrong with the guy she likes because he's suddenly being nice to her. She wants to go back to the way things were before, for goodness' sake, with the name-calling and the put-downs! ARGH!

Uh oh, I'm coming in for a SML syndrome landing. I also like Kentaro Ito and Saeki is so much more type, at least, having only met him for one scene so far, he's more my type. I don't get Yuu excusing Rin's poor behavior other than she's been conditioned to think highly of him and poorly of herself for so long. It's creepy, even if he really is a nice guy inside.

We can lay the blame for what promises to be a trainwreck right on the doorstep of HER FATHER. What dad in his right mind tells his daughter to stay away from nice boys because they're actually bad?! UMMMMMMMMM!!
I like Shirano Ho ever since I watched "Honey" and I kinda like him here because we're getting scenes with Rin where he's not with Yuu, so we see what he's really feeling. But if not for those scenes, oh my gosh, he would be one of the worst human beings ever. He's doing a damn good impression of it when they're together anyway so that's what she sees, which means he has seriously messed her up. If it were me, I'd have had countless fights with that boy by this point in their relationship due to his manipulation tactics.
What am I even watching? I'm learning a lot right now about how people gaslight and are master manipulators, even narcissists, so I am not hopeful for liking this one. But we'll see.
The Japanese version is brilliant. I've never seen the Korean version so I can't make a comparison, but I love the Japanese version, so moving and beautiful. The first role where I've truly loved Ryusei Yokohama.
Where do you find decent Japanese content ? I have trouble finding a place to watch good jdramas
It's usually going to be finding something on MDL that sounds interesting to me and then seeing if DramaCool or KissAsian has it, usually the answer is yes. And I just go from there. If I can watch it on the fabsubber's site, then I'll definitely do that though.
Jdrama "Around 40" is really excellent, one of my favorites, and approaches the age gap more realistically. "Your…
That's a very wide umbrella for Jdrama recs, but here are some that I enjoy from different genres:
Bokura wa Kiseki de Dekite Iru (2018) with Issei Takahashi, unlike any other Jdrama I've seen before and hands' down one of my top favorites now.
Buzzer Beat (2009) the 3rd Jdrama I ever watched when I first started back in 2012 and still one of my top favorites, has music and sports themes.
From Me to You (2010), slow, sweet high school romcom based off a manga of the same name.
He Won't Kill, She Won't Die (2019) dark film that's hard to describe but undeniably brilliant.
Koko wa Ima kara Rinri desu (2021) - follows the story of an ethics teacher and his students, outstanding drama overall with a few hiccups along the way.
Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (2010) - first Jdrama I ever watched and still my top favorite.
I'm probably the only person in this comments section who is enjoying the drama. 2 episodes in, we're only starting…
You're not alone. I'm only one episode in and it is HILARIOUS. I almost fell off my chair, I laughed so much. It's absolutely refreshing in so many ways, a dark, campy comedy done right. Taishi Nakagawa totally reminds me of a golden retriever puppy, so adorable and hyper!
And for Japan try the awesomeness of Issei Takahashi in "Bokura wa Kiseki de Dekite Iru" or Tomoya Nakamura in "Kono Koi Atatamemasu ka." Both dramas are just supremely relaxing for different reasons, but "Bokura wa Kiseki de Dekite Iru" is especially brilliant. I could watch it on repeat. I also watch "Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge" for blue days, but I'm weird like that.
Just watched the first episode and it is HILARIOUS. Reminds me of the dark comedy in Gourmet Detective Goro Akechi or even a little bit like Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge. Over the top campy, but in a seriously fun way. Loving it so far!
