Checking iQIYI today, still says Coming Soon. Also, there are two other trailers in addition to what is showing on this page. The one labeled “official trailer” is slightly longer and different than the one shown here. It is still reservable. Keeping my fingers crossed as I like dramas set in this era as well as Li Xian!
So I devoured this show in one sitting, as is fitting for the tasty little morsel it is. Just the right mix of hope, sadness, angst and love, not just between the two leads, but the whole family. The child actor is amazing and props to dad for being supportive of his son and understanding of Yutaka’s hesitation. I’m with the other posters, a little more physical affection wouldn’t have hurt, but it is what it is.
Inukai Atsuhiro is a downright chameleon, am I right? If you haven’t already watched, and you would like to see a whole different side of him, do yourself a favor and tune in to “Kei x Yaku: Dangerous Partner.” You won’t regret it!
I’m not a glutton for punishment … truly, I’m not. But, here we are again. Me curled up in a corner in the fetal position, bawling my eyes out after a second watch. Like everyone else, even tho I knew what was coming.
I think this watch was even worse. I watched on a site that had MUCH better subtitles than the first time. Those were so incomprehensible that I spent most of my time guessing the correct dialogue and missing a lot. Not this time … every little nuance and heartbreak was front and center.
Being in the US, I knew nothing about Korean history. Between then and now I read up on this era and the real 4th prince. Fascinating stuff.
Anyhoo, please excuse me while I go stock up on more tissues. I’m still weeping for poor sweet Jung :(

★ The ArtBox was a constant companion on set and encapsulates Jihyun's character in a way that nothing else could. It tells the story of his journey and how his past shaped him into the person he is today. It represents the power of individuality and the strength that comes from expressing oneself through art. We hope that it can serve as a source of inspiration and a reminder of your own inner strength. ∞

Every once in a while, a film or series comes along that takes a genre and flips it on its head. Last year, it was “KinnPorsche.” For 2023, it has to be “The Eighth Sense.” This isn’t a great BL drama. It’s a great drama PERIOD. I feel like with a show like this, it’s time to let go of the BL label and just call it what it is: a fantastic show with a great love story, characters, pacing, cinematography, color palette and soundtrack. I’m especially impressed when you consider that all parties connected have relatively little experience, especially the actors but even the showrunners as well. It’s a 10 for me.
I looked up South African director Werner Du Plessis to learn more about him and how he came to be connected to a South Korean production. You can read more about him here:
