I agree with everything you said, except for your comments about Lee Yoo Ri. I think that she is Korea's finest actress, but that was not enough to make me like Hide And Seek. I have never re-watched any Kdrama in its entirety, but I went through Father Is Strange a second time, stopping at all of her scenes. Many people have hailed that performance. I hope you give it a try.
Most overrated drama I ever watched. But it was bearable with A LOT of fast forwarding. The only funny thing was…
I find that I usually agree with your comments, but the performances of Park Bo Young and Kim Won Hae carried me through this. I gave it a 7.5 overall.
I agree with Laura SK about this. I have tried three times to get through the first episode, but without success. I am out-of-sync with the rest of the world on this.
I usually complain about movies that are rated too highly by the public. In this case, it is just the opposite. Jo Jung Suk does his usual fine work and the script was a surprise to me, especially the end in which the police and general public get it wrong (I don't think that rates a 'spoiler' notation). Those who only consider movies that are rated at 8.0 and higher will be missing a decent production here.
I have asked MDL staff a couple of times how many ratings it will take to get this movie included in the lists of top movies. At first I was told 200. When passing that total did not do it, I was told 250. Encourage your friends to view it and leave a rating. That way, more people will be exposed to it when looking through top-rated films.
Very Sweet movie. I know I am missing something about the ending. I'm not understanding what the 2 men were talking…
I may be wrong, of course, but I thought that the trip to the field/stream was a last picnic and also a ruse to fool others into thinking that they had taken the body to a crematorium. In fact, they cremated her in the bathhouse.
This is the first time I have seen Suzy in anything. I feel as if I am watching Jung So Min's sister. Their mannerisms are so similar. I am only eight episodes in, but so far I am pleasantly surprised. I assumed, from the descriptions of the plot, that I would not enjoy it, so I passed on it for months. I am not sure if it deserves and 8.8 rating, but let's see what the next 24 episodes bring.
Lee Yoo Ri is my favorite actor in the world. I usually wait for dramas to complete their run before watching them, so that I don't have to suffer the week-long wait for the next episode, but for her, I will watch each episode as soon as I am able.
I find it hard to believe that this was written by the same person who wrote "Bring It On, Ghost," a drama that I gave 4 stars to. That was vapid. This is packed with quality. There must be an unaccredited assistant hidden somewhere. I doubt that one could make such an improvement is such a short time.
I suffered through four episodes, then jumped to the last. Everything had transpired just as I thought it would. I feel that this was aimed at fifteen-year-olds. Plot development was super-slow. 4.0
I admit that this is totally subjective, but I feel that she is the best actor (that's male or female) in the world. The only one who comes close is Aamir Khan. I am very eager for Hide And Seek to become available. Why isn't Lee Yoo Ri in movies?
6.0 -- Mildly pleasant, but I do not understand the high average rating. It almost matches My Mister. To me, there was a vast difference in quality. Yes, they are different genres, but is this the greatest romcom of all?
