Half-way through. I keep thinking about how disappointed I am in Jank Ki Yong. I liked him in "My Mister," but felt that he was weak in "Come and Hug Me." In "WWW" he is stone-faced in most scenes. I hope he is taking lessons.
I am so sick of Tammy being indecisive about her love relationship every two episodes. Other couples are more…
I agree with you. What is the point of them having a relationship if they derive no pleasure out of it? I am only through episode 8, so I don't know if it will change, but for now, I prefer the other plot lines, especially Lee Da Hee's. The lady is amazingly beautiful. Can't get enough.
I am always puzzled when watching a drama in which all the characters refer to how beautiful the female lead is, when I don't think of her as beautiful at all. "Eye of the beholder," I guess. That is why I can't watch anything that Shin Hye Sun is in. I know, I am a terrible person.
This is an important story, but I almost dropped it in the first hour. Whoever did the English subtitles does not speak English perfectly. Sometimes I could figure out what was meant, sometimes not. The translation seemed to improve in the second half.
The way the plot progressed, it was almost like a documentary. There seemed to be an effort to insert every important detail, no matter how weary it made the story. In the end, I was glad that I stuck with it. Hwang Jung Min is one of the world's great actors, so watching him helped keep me engaged.
I think that I will seek a comedy next time.
The Korean movie industry has done a good job of letting the world know that, though South Korea has had much more prosperity since the peninsula was divided, their political history has been almost as ugly as that of the North. The industry has also been making the point that it has been getting better.
The first 10 minutes was literally a fighting scene that is only lightly reflected at the end.. it doesn't reflect…
The story-line about the two main male characters being missing for a year was mentioned in the last episode.
Thank you for mentioning daebakdrama. I have been using ondramanice and kissasian for years. Recently, I have been adding dramacool and viki. There have been times that only one will carry a title, especially if it is over ten years old. I recently found that none of them carry the Japanese movie Hula Girls. It is a great movie (IMHO) which is now lost unless you have the DVD.
Last thing -- I just finished the drama The Fiery Priest and the movie Keys To The Heart. Enjoyed them both.
Keys To The Heart turned me back into a girl again. Men don't cry, right? I did not think that I would possibly like this, but felt that Lee Byung Hun might bring something new to the standard trope of a fighter who changes his ways. At the mid-point of the movie was my first cry. There were quite a few more. Yoon Yeo Jung was her usual, sensational self. It is easy to see why Park Jung Min has been such a busy actor lately. Everyone else was superb as well. Can't leave out the writing and direction for applause. To think that I almost did not give this a try. That would have been a shame.
I know that it has been two years since you posted this question. None of the four sites I use to watch Asian films has it. I am very surprised. However, I checked ebay and found that there are two offers from England (Region 2) for under $10. If you have an all-region dvd player, or know how to re-program the one you have (Google it), this seems to be the only way to watch this wonderful film. I have a copy and pull it out every two years or so.
This is one of the finest movies ever made. The average rating of 8.8, though high, makes no sense in this case. Could it be that some don't like the fact that it is in black-and-white? It may be long, but I would not edit any of it.
Where are you watching this subbed (ALL episodes).. I'm having trouble finding. YT is not subbed and another site…
Writing about Uhm Jung Hwa reminds me of the movie Venus Talk. Three women over 40. Only rated 7.4 by MDL, but I feel that the performances of Moon So Ri and Jo Min Soo (especially her) rate better

I should have included "Signal." Kim Hye Soo is in her 40's now and still one of the world's most beautiful women, though she does not play up that side in her work anymore.
In movies, I think that Harmony, Sunny, I Can Speak (which I feel is too highly rated on MDL), Canola (which I gave a 10 to), Salute D'Amour, and Miss Granny qualify. Wonderful Nightmare? I am still angry at Uhm Jung Hwa for making You're Too Much. I sat through the entire drama thinking that she would not attach herself to something so horrible. I was waiting for the big payoff that would make it all worthwhile. It never came.

I wonder how long we can keep this going. It may help someone else.
Besides Dramacool, many people like Viki.com. The two I gave you were the first that I found when I first became interested in Korean movies and dramas about five years ago, and I have stuck with them. Back then, I was shocked by the high quality of the Korean product. IMHO, they have the best writers, actors, and directors in the world. Bollywood has Aamir Khan, but, with few exceptions, quality drops quickly beside his work. Japan did not learn much from Kurasawa. Hula Girls, Departures, and Her Love Boils Bathwater, are the only Japanese films I really liked over the last 10 years or so. Most films out of Hollywood are cartoonish. Hey, different strokes for different folks.

The sites I use are www2.ondramanice.tv and kissasian.sh, where this is listed as "Heaven's Promise." They both offer several servers, which is good because I sometimes have difficulty finding one that works well. However, on both sites there is always one that does the job it is supposed to. On Kissasian the most reliable is 'Kissasian Beta.' With Ondramanice, 'Server M1' or 'Streamango' are usually the most reliable.
I am only half-way through this drama, but it woke me to an important aspect that I have been missing -- I am looking forward to what happens in the next episode. Most of the dramas that I have tried to watch over the past few months have either bored me, or I found that, though they were mildly interesting, I did not care what happened to the main characters. I became so tired of dropping dramas after a few episodes, in spite of high MDL ratings, that I recently did something that I had not done before -- I re-watched one of my favorites (My Mister). The Fiery Priest has been a fun ride so far. I hope it continues.

@amore Thanks to you, I just finished the first two episodes. This is the first time that I have seen Song Hye Kyo in anything, though I have seen hundreds of Korean movies and dramas. Lots of charisma. I do find myself wishing that Won Bin had taken the role of the captain though. If I manage to get through all the episodes, I will edit my initial comment.
Kim Go Eun, Lee Min Ki, and Ahn Seo Hyun were all great. The problem was a slow plot-line. They had two hours to fill with 80 minutes of material. If you enjoy fine acting, as I do, you should enjoy this. Some of your friends may fall asleep somewhere in the middle.

Mature women: Sky Castle, Reply 1988, Dear My Friends, Avengers Social Club.
