There are times that I am so disappointed with the Kdramas that I sample, that I start thinking about giving up on them. Then I get surprised by something like 2521 or Attorney Woo and realize that I can't give up just yet. Now it's Little Women. I began watching, expecting another yet another disappointment. I have only watched the first episode, but I have been struck by the quality of the writing, acting, and directing. I have a love/hate feeling for Kim Go Eun, who was terribly miscast in Goblin, in my opinion, though she did her best. However, she was fabulous in Canola and other works. She has started off strong here. Sometimes first impressions fall apart, but I am very hopeful.
In the end, I felt that the writing was not on the same level as the acting. This reminded me of Deliver Us From Evil with Lee Jung Jae. I guess that Hwang Jung Min likes location shoots in foreign countries.
In the middle of ep. 4. Just a bit puzzled that Jo Woo Jin and Yoo Yeon Seok have rolls well below their talent and status. Also surprised at how good Yeon Seok's English is.
It's not the main plot ,it happens 3 to 4 times only ,the drama is mind blowing
Thank you for saying this. roddib's comment made me want to scream. Many people, on this site and others (https://thefangirlverdict.com/2014/09/12/review-secret-love-affair/), feel that this is the GOAT. To criticize it for a petty scene in the first episode is frustrating.
This is stupid. It is the worst drama I have seen since You're Too Much. It has less quality than a daytime soap. If it had been longer than 8 episodes, I would have marked it 'dropped.' What drew me to try it was the presence of Park Hoon, who is an excellent actor, but he barely had anything to do here. People who liked it are from a different planet than I am. Well, let's all go looking for a drama with great writing, acting, and directing. This wasn't it.
I am in the middle of episode 2, but don't think that I will be watching much longer. None of the leads are very good actors. I have noticed several women in the background who are more attractive than Han Ye Seul, so the premise that her character is "the most beautiful woman' isn't working for me. I just checked the tv ratings. It seems that they fell off a cliff over the final six weeks or so. If they had been rising, it would indicate that I had something to look forward to. Maybe I should watch Attorney Woo again.
I thought that the performance of Park Hoon both here and in "Alhambra" would have lifted his status in the industry, but he is still doing supporting rolls. Does anyone know if he has a reputation that is holding him back?
I just finished watching this for the second time, mainly for Park Eun Bin's performance. I always considered her to be a mid-level actress, but she nailed this part. I don't remember enjoying a performance so much since Lee Yoo Ri in My Father Is Strange. Kim Tae Ri in 2521 was close as well. Anything that Aamir Khan does is golden, but he is not Korean, so discussion of his talent needs a different blog., I guess.
I already explained to you why the scenes were deleted. You should understand it is more upsetting for the director…
Yes, you did. I am very sorry to have hurt your feelings, but I would have enjoyed the series more with the deleted scenes. Should I now commit seppuku?
I originally gave this a 10, but after watching the deleted scenes, I became aware that it certainly would have been better with them, so I revised my rating downward. I can only think of one other case of a deleted scene that upset me so much and that was from the British movie Yesterday, in which the song Something was written on the James Corden show.
Watch this deleted scene and you will understand more:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QO0n-knWkes
This led me to look for other deleted scenes, and now I am annoyed. I had wondered what happened to the gift that Joon Ho had left on Young Woo's desk. Now I know. I may lower my rating.
With an average rating of 8.6, I expected better. I kept wondering what the prosecutors were doing with all their spare time. The performance of Kim Mu Yeol was terribly bland, in my opinion. The appearances of Shim Eun Seok's ex-husband seemed an after-thought and were haphazard. How about the appearance of the mother-in-law out of the blue? Granted, the message is important, but it could have been tied up in a better package.
She's really well-liked by PDs from what I've read here and there, but she goes for quirky scripts and seems to…
I meant no offense with my 'more pressing concerns' comment. I just meant that children, and personal life in general, are taking priority. If Lee Yoo Ri sould ask me to help her with script selection, I would be happy to make time for her, but I kinda think that it will not happen.
You write well. I hope to meet up with you again on MDL.

You make some good points that I had not considered. Thank you. I still would like to see her in something like Sky Castle. I admit that I also have more pressing concerns.
