I think LYN is still good looking. Even though he is not as handsome as many other Chinese actors like Yang Yang, Zhang Ling He, Xiao Zhan, Dylan Wang, Deng Wei, Song Wei Long, Cheng Yi, and etc.

I still think LYN face is far from ugly. Chinese netizens are so strict with visuals. I knew it.

The Princess Gambit is really great in first 18 episodes. It's all about scheming between briliant leads who finally worked together to take down the Crown Prince faction.

But after they reached ep 19, when that "scene" happened, the writing goes downhill with amnesia and misunderstanding plots. The amnesia is not annoying actually. It's just 3 episodes but after that the Princess pretend to lose her memories until episode 28/29 in order to keep staying in 3rd Prince residence for further informations. I understand her decisions though, but still, there was (normal) misunderstanding between the leads. Tbh, I still enjoy The Princess Gambit until the end. But people who hate cliche tropes will talk badly about it. So, I already warned you about the cliche tropes in later episodes.

The intense parts were going back again in between ep 30-33. That's the game of thrones arc between 3rd prince vs 4th prince (Crown prince was taken down in ep 15). It was very exciting, I really LOVE palace politics and game of thrones like I said. From ep 34-36, it's all about taking down the main antagonist + cure the poison.

I read all your drama lists in your page. And you already watched most of Chinese dramas that i mentioned before. LLTG, SOKP, Blossom, and etc you rated 9.0/10. It already gave me some impressions that you also understand which type of costume dramas that I really enjoy.

I also watched Rise of The Phoenixes, Story of Minglan, The Rebel Princess, Story of Yanxi Palace, Ruyi Royal Love in the Palace, Goodbye My Princess, etc. They are very good. I think they are still belong to current quality dramas. They were released in between 2018 and 2019. Cinematography for ROTP is also great. The Legend of Haolan cinematography (2019) is also similar with ROTP.

I also watch many short dramas. There are some great short costume dramas with decent budget. For example A Familiar Stranger, Hard to Find, Butterflied Lover, Provoke, Fortune Writer, Love & Bid Farewell, Dawn is Breaking, The Tale of Love & Loyalty, Love in a Dream, To Love or To Defy, Always My General, and etc. Those dramas cinematography are very close or even in the same level with Full length Chinese dramas.

I don't mind plot armors and cliche tropes. As long as the dramas are exciting with my favorite genres (Romance + Palace Politics + Noble Family Conflicts + Game of Throne), I am happy with that. I really enjoy those dramas that I mentioned above. You can easily find the pattern of dramas that I like with the list that I gave you in previous comments.

I also enjoy watching Serendipity and Si Jin. Even though they didn't enter my most top favorites that I listed in previous comments above. Yes I misinterpret your tone. And i am sorry for that. This is written conversations though. I just don't update everything in MDL. Because I watched so many dramas already.

I still prefer current chinese dramas (above 2015 - now) rather than older dramas (below 2015). Because the quality of Chinese dramas have significantly improved time by time. From plots, cinematography, chemistry, romance and kissing scenes, production designs, costumes & sets, and etc. Especially after One & Only (2021) and Love Like The Galaxy (2022) era, the whole cinematography in most Chinese dramas are so stunning, beautiful, and cinema-worthy.

Who are you to look down on me? Dont act like you are superior than anyone. It sucks and annoying. I watched Chinese dramas since I was in high school. So it's already 15 years. Because I am 30 years old this year. Many people in MDL are also seasoned drama watchers. They watched Chinese dramas for many years.

Like I said before, I watched most of chinese costume dramas from above 2010 until now. So I already watched The Longest Day in Chang'an. You don't need to recommend anything. I already watched everything. That drama is great but it's indeed heavy and slow-burn type of story. I prefer dramas with fast paced plots, exciting palace politics, game of thrones, noble family conflicts, with great romance + good visuals.

They are high budget dramas with visually stunning cinematography. Good acting and chemistry between leads. Exciting plots and no boring moments (palace politics, game of thrones, war/battle, noble families conflicts, etc). Great romance and passionate kisses. And many many more.

You know what? Her opinions made me really angry yesterday. It's so biased and hateful.

Like i said before in other comments. She is a softie to her fave actors like Liu Yu Ning, Tan Jian Ci, and Yu Shu Xin. She mostly praised their works. She also did this when she was overhyping A Dream of Splendor in 2022. She tried to slaughter other dramas just to make ADOS stand out. Personally, I think Love Like The Galaxy is a lot better than ADOS in their airing time.

Yes and their denial argumentations made my blood boils everytime. But not all of them are like that. I have my own experience about this. Many kdrama lovers who tried to watch Chinese costume dramas finally admitted that Chinese costume dramas are far superior than korean costume dramas. They are often amazed with chinese grand sets and costumes, rich histories and various dynasties, exciting palace politics and game of thrones, excellent wars/battles and martial arts. Plus visually stunning cinematography and beautiful chinese actors and actresses.

You should try to watch more high rated and popular costume dramas. They are very exciting and no boring moments. Point no 4. Disagree. Chinese dramas are still the best in Costume dramas genre. Even Korean dramas still can't beat the grand quality and expensive Chinese costume dramas.

Thank you for lovely response. Yes she is one of my most favorite actresses. Bai Lu is very beautiful and talented. I am so sad why there are some ppl who talked about her like that? She never do something wrong to them. Or that people must be blind for sure.

Why you are so denial? Bai Lu was forced to take this drama role. She didn't want to do it but Yu Zheng already told the public that she will take this role. That's also the reason why Bai Lu keep delaying the contract signment of this drama. She was forced to play with Wang Xing Yue. It's Yu Zheng strategy to boost WXY popularity through Bai Lu. Many articles also already reported about this kind of things.

I love palace politics and game of thrones in many other costume dramas. So i really enjoy the capital arc in this drama.

This drama is not designed only for case breaking genre. They have mix genres here. Romance, Palace Politics, Medical, Detective cases, and etc.

I think everyone opinions are still different from each other. I am also a seasoned chinese drama watcher. And I like this drama. Basically I watched everything. Especially costume dramas. This drama is fast paced and entertaining. The two cases of Jingzhou are very well done. Those cases (Bride without head + Qin residence case) are complex and full of suspense. But after they go to Yuzhou and Capital, the cases are more simple than previous episodes. I really understand that because they need to balance the stories with all other sub-genres. Romance and Palace Politics. That's my most favorite genre in Costume dramas. I really enjoy both romance and palace politics in many other costume dramas. So I am happy that this drama also have palace politics from the middle until the end.

If you like Blossom, then you need to watch "Story of Kunning Palace". It's highly recommended. My top recommendations. It's also about Rebirth dramas with romance and palace politics. The FL comeback to the past and she want to fix everything so the tragedy in the future will not happen. Please check it out!

I think the first two cases in Jingzhou arc were very interesting. The bride without head case and Qin residence case. Those two cases are hard to predict with complex background stories.

I watched the drama until ep 17, and Yan Li said that his father was already dead long time ago so he doesn't get real power as a prince. He is just a prince in "name" only.

Also, i saw Yue Ning told Wan in the beginning of Yuzhou arc that Yan Li is the adopted son of emperor. BUT I heard people here said that Yan Li is the biological son of imposter emperor (which is the current emperor in whole drama). So, I don't understand the Yan Li whole story and his actual parents. Some ppl also said Yan Li is the crown prince (???)

The Glory is not about war. It's about revenge + noble family conflicts with palace politics. Just like The Double. The Glory is darker than The Double with jaw dropped twists in many elements.
