There are so many great short dramas with decent budget nowadays.
This is some examples of great short costume dramas with good production designs and stories = - A Familar Stranger - Butterflied Lover - Hard to Find - Provoke - Love in A Dream - Love & Bid Farewell - Always My General - To Love or To Defy - Dawn is Breaking - Fortune Writer - Love Behind The Mask - Doppelganger - and etc many more
Actually there are still many more but it will be a super long list if I write them all.
mini dramas right now are getting away with bending or breaking rules, because they're low key and not platformed…
But we have many Rebirth dramas at this point. Full length dramas. For example Story of Kunning Palace, Blossom, Si Jin, The Princess Royal, Lost Track of Time, and etc.
Especially for Blossom, LTOT, and Si Jin, they didn't insert novel writer like SOKP or "Is it a dream?" dialogue like The Princess Royal.
It’s the category and platform of the drama that is aired that will require to go through strict censorship…

There is censorship. I dont recall if its an outright, more of a soft ban. This drama is purely web series, as…

Aside from Disney+, it will also be available on WeTV Indonesia (though it’s unclear if Linmon Pictures will…
Linmon sold international rights of A Dream Within A Dream to both iQiyi and WeTV/Tencent. So PLEASE, let WeTV global take MR broadcasting rights as well. I know it will be in WeTV Indonesia, but i am thinking also for other people who don't have VPN and they also want to see Xu Kai and Tian Xi Wei in MR with LEGAL platforms.
WeTV Indonesia have english subs and many other languages subtitles as well. There are Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional), Indonesian, English, Thai, Viet, Malay, and etc.

How about the other countries or regions? I hope WETV also can get the rights for global scale. Because most likely Moonlit Reunion will be released on Disney Taiwan and some certain regions only.
Anyone knows which the official platform for this drama? I heard it's Disney Plus for international and I am scared because they usually bought exclusive rights but they didn't air it in many countries like Joy of Life S2.
I hope it's WETV like usual 🥲 please someone give me informations about this.
I am not surprised because it is obvious she is a big Liu Yuning fan at this point. His fans on the C-side have…
LOL thanks for more informations. I am wondering if LYN fans will admit these kind of things 🤣
As far as I know, AJTL is a female centric drama but I felt that both FL and ML have equal foots in the script level. However, LYN is recognized because of that drama. Before that, he always play supporting roles or 2nd ML.
I am not surprised because it is obvious she is a big Liu Yuning fan at this point. His fans on the C-side have…
I think LYN is still good looking. Even though he is not as handsome as many other Chinese actors like Yang Yang, Zhang Ling He, Xiao Zhan, Dylan Wang, Deng Wei, Song Wei Long, Cheng Yi, and etc.
I still think LYN face is far from ugly. Chinese netizens are so strict with visuals. I knew it.
I'm up to episode 17 so I'm judging based on what I've seen so far... Let's put it like this. It's an entertaining…
The Princess Gambit is really great in first 18 episodes. It's all about scheming between briliant leads who finally worked together to take down the Crown Prince faction.
But after they reached ep 19, when that "scene" happened, the writing goes downhill with amnesia and misunderstanding plots. The amnesia is not annoying actually. It's just 3 episodes but after that the Princess pretend to lose her memories until episode 28/29 in order to keep staying in 3rd Prince residence for further informations. I understand her decisions though, but still, there was (normal) misunderstanding between the leads. Tbh, I still enjoy The Princess Gambit until the end. But people who hate cliche tropes will talk badly about it. So, I already warned you about the cliche tropes in later episodes.
The intense parts were going back again in between ep 30-33. That's the game of thrones arc between 3rd prince vs 4th prince (Crown prince was taken down in ep 15). It was very exciting, I really LOVE palace politics and game of thrones like I said. From ep 34-36, it's all about taking down the main antagonist + cure the poison.
I read all your drama lists in your page. And you already watched most of Chinese dramas that i mentioned before. LLTG, SOKP, Blossom, and etc you rated 9.0/10. It already gave me some impressions that you also understand which type of costume dramas that I really enjoy.
I also watched Rise of The Phoenixes, Story of Minglan, The Rebel Princess, Story of Yanxi Palace, Ruyi Royal Love in the Palace, Goodbye My Princess, etc. They are very good. I think they are still belong to current quality dramas. They were released in between 2018 and 2019. Cinematography for ROTP is also great. The Legend of Haolan cinematography (2019) is also similar with ROTP.
I also watch many short dramas. There are some great short costume dramas with decent budget. For example A Familiar Stranger, Hard to Find, Butterflied Lover, Provoke, Fortune Writer, Love & Bid Farewell, Dawn is Breaking, The Tale of Love & Loyalty, Love in a Dream, To Love or To Defy, Always My General, and etc. Those dramas cinematography are very close or even in the same level with Full length Chinese dramas.

I don't mind plot armors and cliche tropes. As long as the dramas are exciting with my favorite genres (Romance + Palace Politics + Noble Family Conflicts + Game of Throne), I am happy with that. I really enjoy those dramas that I mentioned above. You can easily find the pattern of dramas that I like with the list that I gave you in previous comments.
I also enjoy watching Serendipity and Si Jin. Even though they didn't enter my most top favorites that I listed in previous comments above. Yes I misinterpret your tone. And i am sorry for that. This is written conversations though. I just don't update everything in MDL. Because I watched so many dramas already.
I still prefer current chinese dramas (above 2015 - now) rather than older dramas (below 2015). Because the quality of Chinese dramas have significantly improved time by time. From plots, cinematography, chemistry, romance and kissing scenes, production designs, costumes & sets, and etc. Especially after One & Only (2021) and Love Like The Galaxy (2022) era, the whole cinematography in most Chinese dramas are so stunning, beautiful, and cinema-worthy.
I am not surprised because it is obvious she is a big Liu Yuning fan at this point. His fans on the C-side have…
So, is it true that Avenuex often grab the opinions and research from chinese netizens? Lol and she talked like it's her own opinions without giving credits.
I'm up to episode 17 so I'm judging based on what I've seen so far... Let's put it like this. It's an entertaining…
Who are you to look down on me? Dont act like you are superior than anyone. It sucks and annoying. I watched Chinese dramas since I was in high school. So it's already 15 years. Because I am 30 years old this year. Many people in MDL are also seasoned drama watchers. They watched Chinese dramas for many years.
Like I said before, I watched most of chinese costume dramas from above 2010 until now. So I already watched The Longest Day in Chang'an. You don't need to recommend anything. I already watched everything. That drama is great but it's indeed heavy and slow-burn type of story. I prefer dramas with fast paced plots, exciting palace politics, game of thrones, noble family conflicts, with great romance + good visuals.
This is my fave costume dramas : Love Like The Galaxy, The Prisoner of Beauty, Story of Kunning Palace, Blossom, The Double, The Glory, The Princess Gambit, A Dream Within A Dream, Kill Me Love Me, Are You The One, The Rise of Ning, Blossoms in Adversity, Flourished Peony, Who Rules The World, Wonderland of Love, My Journey to You, The Princess Royal, and etc many more.
They are high budget dramas with visually stunning cinematography. Good acting and chemistry between leads. Exciting plots and no boring moments (palace politics, game of thrones, war/battle, noble families conflicts, etc). Great romance and passionate kisses. And many many more.
I am not surprised because it is obvious she is a big Liu Yuning fan at this point. His fans on the C-side have…
You know what? Her opinions made me really angry yesterday. It's so biased and hateful.
Like i said before in other comments. She is a softie to her fave actors like Liu Yu Ning, Tan Jian Ci, and Yu Shu Xin. She mostly praised their works. She also did this when she was overhyping A Dream of Splendor in 2022. She tried to slaughter other dramas just to make ADOS stand out. Personally, I think Love Like The Galaxy is a lot better than ADOS in their airing time.
(1) How can anyone adequately answer your question without knowing your personal tastes & preferences? (2)…
Yes and their denial argumentations made my blood boils everytime. But not all of them are like that. I have my own experience about this. Many kdrama lovers who tried to watch Chinese costume dramas finally admitted that Chinese costume dramas are far superior than korean costume dramas. They are often amazed with chinese grand sets and costumes, rich histories and various dynasties, exciting palace politics and game of thrones, excellent wars/battles and martial arts. Plus visually stunning cinematography and beautiful chinese actors and actresses.
That's why, if they are interested in chinese costume dramas, I always answer their questions with my top recommendations.
it is really worth watching it. Iam also not a fan of costume dramas(cause i feel it boring) but since the moment…
You should try to watch more high rated and popular costume dramas. They are very exciting and no boring moments. All core elements like romance, palace politics, game of thrones, noble family conflicts, war/battles, etc are well executed in Costume dramas. If you like Legend of The Female General, you can try to watch more costume dramas.
This is my top recommendations : Love Like The Galaxy, The Prisoner of Beauty, Story of Kunning Palace, Blossom, The Double, The Glory, The Princess Gambit, Kill Me Love Me, A Dream Within A Dream, Coroner's Diary, Are You The One, The Rise of Ning, Blossoms in Adversity, Flourished Peony, Who Rules The World, Wonderland of Love, My Journey to You, The Princess Royal, and etc many more.

Until now, I still can't watch JOL 2 because of Disney 🙄
