On Good Bye, My Princess Apr 1, 2019
You know that part in the trailer where they're in bed and it seems like Cheng Yin is watching her sleep when she suddenly blurts out "Gu Xiao Wu" right as she wakes up and then it looks like shit is going to hit the fan? Help me find that episode please! I've been searching for ages and I can't find it.

On another note, deciding to start this drama when I have much more important things to do was a bad idea which I was well aware of but the drama just pulled me. In particular the ending - which is probably masochistic of me but I do adore Chinese dramas for their sad endings. They just make you feel so much more, you know? (That being said, the ones that do have happy endings, thank goodness there are some because I always need to go rewatch their endings to cheer me up a little.)

As someone who’s seen several of the previous incarnations of this story (and who doesn’t really love it either), I can confidently say that this is the BEST version I have seen of Itazura Na Kiss (a title previously held by the jdrama version, Mischievous Kiss: Love in Tokyo). This is entirely due to the couple and the slightly adjusted story. It still holds true to the original but the minor changes really work well and can I just add how much I adore Darren Wang as Naoki? I always have a love-hate relationship with the character (more of the latter tbh) but he plays a much more human and emotional character here - something I’ve always taken issue with about Irie Naoki. Personally, I’ve always felt that ISWAK Joe Cheng had done the character the best so far but here, Darren does it so well that I actually love Naoki?? Something I have rarely felt before.
Also, Jelly Lin as Kotoko - you can’t help but love her. I’m a sucker for dimples but she’s so cute and I like this version of Kotoko who doesn’t use Kin-chan as a tissue and who actually does try to do her own thing apart from Naoki.
Good pacing, great acting and lovely soundtrack.
9/10 for this version - definitely my favourite of the lot.

Really like him! First saw him in Jang Ok Jung and Inspiring Generation and I’m reminded of how much I adore him again thanks to My ID Is Gangnam Beauty. He looks older than his 21 years though - I fully believed he was 26 in that drama!

A feel-good, cute kdrama that hit all those nostalgic notes! I haven’t enjoyed watching a kdrama so much in a loooong time. The gems have been few and far in between lately. Definitely recommended for a simple storyline and cute romance. An 8.5/10 from me!

Also, this reminded me how much I adore Kwak Dong Yeon - thank you for that, drama!

You should probably mark this as a spoiler. I also commented on the ending and have a similar opinion but you…
Noted and done! :)

I remember my first dive into Chinese dramas. I was confused as hell. But the more you watch the more you understand and eventually it becomes normal. It was like when I first tried Koreans dramas and it took me a while to realize there was polite speech vs common speech - I remember being so confused why some people called each other with "-sshi". Eventually I understood the context. But yes, Chinese dramas are indeed different. Thai lakorns are also quite a doozy when you first start. Now that I think about it, each country's dramas are all really very different...

I'm not totally mad at the ending, just a little sad that Wang Shik didn't get even a flaking-Voldemort disappearance. They could've used old footage to at least ACKNOWLEDGE him.
Apart from that, I'm just glad the Psych-Ohs, Ari, Yoon, the Elder, Joo Sung, Dong Shik and Yu Ra got happy endings. Overall, 8/10 for me!

Amazing that I watched every single episode! That doesn't mean I didn't skip a bit but my main reasons I kept watching was to see how the heck the Emperor was ever going to fall for Yingluo and my precious boy, Fucha Fuheng. All in all, a good ride! 8/10

I was really into this drama at first but by episode 25-30, it quickly started to get very repetitive and the rest of it felt like they kept dragging the storyline on and on. I fastfowarded through the rest, mainly only watching for the Demon Lord who rapidly became my main interest. 7.5/10 just for him really.

In an attempt to maintain my sanity, I am now going to restrain myself from watching any more episodes until the final episode has been aired and subbed. I cannot handle this drama wreaking havoc on my sanity any longer.

I really enjoyed this! A refreshing story with no silly misunderstandings and all lovable characters. But my goodness, I never thought when I started this drama that my favourite character would end up as Rei. He’s amazing and I love him.

I am actually so shook that the actor playing Mo Ruofei is female. That was the first impression I got but then she's just so handsome, I got confused. Now I don't even know what pronoun to say. But dang, is Xing En gorgeous!
On I Will Never Let You Go Jan 14, 2019
I'm only an episode in but I like it! Much more than I can say for Ming Lan which I really wanted to like but couldn't get into. This reminds me a lot of Lan Ling Wang but I'm hoping this doesn't give me as severe a case of second male lead syndrome as that drama did. Loving Ariel too, she is timeless!

When I started watching Asian dramas, I couldn't stop myself from devouring each new Korean drama. This year was drastically different. I tried a few dramas like Why Secretary Kim but couldn't get into any of them apart from one short web drama. The only kdrama to have peaked and kept my interest is The Last Empress which, for all the makjang, is a rather compelling storyline.
My favourites for this year are Ashes of Love and Bhuppae Sunniwat.
On Don't Go Breaking My Heart Dec 8, 2018
The ending had me literally chanting to pick one guy over the next. I was so scared she was going to pick that idiot again. I see Netflix has the sequel as well but I’m so afraid she’s going to choose the other guy!

Title All Out of Love Spoiler
Take out all the flashbacks and useless plot points and this drama could have been much better.
Also, the ending for Liangsheng - not sure how I felt about it. I wasn’t his greatest fan but is he implying suicide? Or was that cough meant to signal that he was going to die? Thinking along the lines of his former health issue with blood clots, am I meant to guess that he likely has a pulmonary embolism and will die soon? I guess so.
All his unhappiness just because he couldn’t love Jiang Sheng just as a sister. That’s kinda sad.
