If I had a nickel for every time Bai Lu loved a man but still stabbed him anyway, I’d have at least 3 nickels - which isn’t much but it’s funny how it happened 3 times. (Moonlight Mystique, Till the End of the Moon, Story of Kunning Palace)
This drama had so much potential but the last few episodes were just disappointing. The storyline really took a nosedive and the noble idiocy plot took over. A man points a gun at you while you’re in the car and you choose to get out of the car and talk to him at gunpoint rather than just run him over? Your psychopathic son is locked up and you want to let him out so you can have a chat with a shotgun? Then surprise Pikachu face when you’re the one who’s shot? You feel guilty that the father who never raised you or even named you was responsible for your wife’s car accident 20 years ago so you run away to a foreign country in the middle of a war because the pretty sunsets there remind you of her slapped cheek? Utter nonsense. I watched in 1.5x speed and still ended up skipping through. 7.5/10 for the initial enjoyment I had.
I really enjoyed it! I adored Zhang Wan Yi when he was suffering in Lost You Forever so to see him play such a happy-go-lucky cutie in love is quite lovely. The main couple has so much chemistry and the comedic moments cannot be underestimated. Got a little too politically heavy for me at times but I powered through to get the fluffy romance bits. 8.5/10 for me!
I tried watching this drama a few years ago and couldn’t get into it. Something in me decided to give it another try and while I finished this first season, I’m not really itching to watch the second season. I enjoy medical dramas but this one was too slow for my liking. I get that it’s slice of life and honestly, I should’ve known I wouldn’t like it much. I still finished it but that was only on x1.5 speed and with some fast forwarding. The friendships are heartwarming and I did like the characters but the story failed to capture me plus it was too many doctor / patient stories to follow at once and they were really short. 7.5/10 for me
The first few episodes - hooked, couldn’t take my eyes away. The last 10 episodes - fast forwarding, I’m over it. It’s a talented cast but the story unfortunately was lackluster. General Yin deserved better, a wasted character.
I love seeing bad guys suffer the consequences of their evil actions. Park Shin Hye really surprised me by how well she exemplified a demon. Enjoyed this a lot, was a good binge! Couldn’t help but find You’re Beautiful similarities - like seeing Go Mi Nam reunite with Manager Ma and how Gabriel looked a little like Jeremy lol Also, every time Bael showed up, I squealed. I love his deep voice. That’s MY Spider-Man ❤️
The beginning was very bingeable but it really slowed for me once he figured out the truth. The ending was really dragged out too. However the twist at the end was very intriguing! Are they going to do a second season?
Considering how desperate I was to see Season 2 this last year, when I actually had the chance to complete it, the fervor had died down. This drama had great potential but it suffered from some of the changes from the novel and its pacing was really poorly done. The actors did the best they could especially Zhang Wan Yi in my opinion.
This took forever to finish which is unusual for me but I lost interest at more than halfway. Only picked it back up and finished it by watching at 2x speed with some skipping. It was okay for me though I do like the ending - that’s all we wanted in Scarlet Heart Ryeo, was that so hard?!
I’ve been putting off watching this for ages! Glad I finally watched it. Took some time to get into it but I really enjoyed it. Was slightly disappointed by the ending compared to Go Princess Go though. Production quality and comedy were superior! 8.5/10 for me
I skimmed the movie on YouTube - the subtitles weren’t the best but from what I can tell, they changed the storyline a bit, especially toward the end.
The same actor played Mo Yan in both drama and movie and I’m impressed that he looks exactly the same! Also, it was brief but I also saw the actor for Dongfang make an appearance (sort of the same character but not quite because of the storyline change) but he’s not listed on the cast.
If I ever find it with better subtitles, I’ll watch it properly and form a better opinion but as of what I’ve seen - I’d give this a miss. The CGI is poor, and the quality of the costumes & hairstyles is terrible (I’ve seen better in those 10 minute web dramas), the acting is average and while I did like some of the changes they made, it didn’t make up for the rest of the film.
