Thanks very much for these links, I wanted to rewatch it as it was so good.
I would say this rating represents my tastes too. I didn't watch Arthdal Chronicles, Kingdom (because they are not my favourite genres) and never finished Live , but I did watch everything else and they were all amazing dramas. Unfortunately on Netflix Italy we have much less choice and the subtitles (also those in English) of the dramas offered are released very late, which sometimes forces us to watch elsewhere.
Woow, thanks for this article!!! My top tag in the statistics is strong female leads so it was just my cup of tea. Indeed all the women you listed in the various dramas throughout the years have represented the type of leads I prefer. Of the older dramas I also remember I do I do (2012) and Misty (2018) and I am sure there are others out there and I hope many more to come.
Thanks for writing this article. I must be one of the few who never watched My Mister (it gave me a very sad vibe in the first episode and I decided it was not for me), but I have seen almost every other drama of both the leads here and I really find their acting very good and believable. Indeed this drama has a very slow rhythm, nevertheless it's a in interesting slice of life and I enjoy how the members of the fun team interact with each other during each situation they have to face.
I wanted to watch this movie as it is said to be similar to this year's Parasite which I watched yesterday. TBH I found it rather different!! Yes the basic theme is extreme poverty but here it's treated with bitterness mixed with poetry and it's a very slow paced movie based on every day life, whereas Parasite is much harsher and fast paced and the story is a punch in the stomach. The endings and developments of the stories are also totally different. In any case both extremely beatiful and powerful in conveying the great disparities in today's societies. The Japanese are incredibly good in portraying every day life and communication between their actors even when they hardly talk. In fact in this movie there are many quiet moments where emotions can be percieved very well nevertheless. It's very touching and it leaves the viewer with a strong sense of melancholy.
What a disappointment this drama was for me!! I was eagerly waiting for Jin Dong's new project and this turned out to be just a line up of law jargon... even though I never watched the original Suits, I imagined what the setting and overall feel would be like so this did not come as a surprise. However I was hoping for something far less less technical and a little more focused on human relations. Yes the friendship aspect was portrayed well here but always thoroughly mingled with lawyer's jargon...really boring at some points!! I really believe that the 'romance' tag here is totally wrong and misleading, viewers are kept hoping that something will eventually happen and nothing does. I can't give it more than 6.
What a great way to end and begin the new year with this drama!! All I can say is that it was so poetic, touching and warm that I will certainly rewatch it pretty soon. The fact that the setting was an hospice and everything revolved around what generally happens there of course made the story pretty heavy going, but the writers, cast and director (who chose wonderful photography!) turned it all into a truly beautiful and captivating show. The OTP here had amazing chemistry and although I generally prefer Ha Ji Won in stronger roles (and acting with a deeper tone of voice) I must say she was a splendid female lead. Besides them I loved all the cast, so I highly recommend this drama.
I am greatly enjoying this drama which for me is poetic, sad and romantic at the same time. Besides the writing, directing, photography and settings I am also finding the cast very good and the OTP has amazing chemistry too... I am very close to rating it with a 10 depending on how it will end this week.
I am so glad for Kim Nam Gil and for Gong Hyo Jin as they are both great actors and deserved to see their hard work recognized. I personally didn't enjoy the Fiery Priest but I hope to see KNG in a new project soon.
Thanks for the article. I hear so much talk about Korean variety shows and they really sound like fun so whenever I will need fillers in between dramas I will know where to go. I actually already had a taste of a very short one recently (Trans-Siberian pathfinders) and it was very enjoyable.
I only watched the two episodes with Gong Yoo and they were indeed fun and interesting. However I could never watch all the other episodes if the guests weren't as well known (for me) as he was, so for the moment I will pass until I hear of another guest that might raise my interest.
This was my first Korean reality show and I really enjoyed as it was based on a travelling experience. These kind of shows are so enriching as we get to see parts of the world that we might not be able to see ourselves as well as the reactions of those who are actually travelling. The group of 5 actors here was really well matched, they got along perfectly and always had good laughs. I was fascinated at how well they adapted to the stuffy space in the train and mostly how cleverly they would make their meals with instant food. It was a fun watch for me and I will look out for similar shows in the future.
It rarely happens for me to drop a drama so close to the ending but the plot here was really unbearably stupid and so packed with clichès that I just couldn't take it any longer. I just rushed to see the ending as I deserved to know after sticking with it for 41 episodes but I really don't recommend this drama...what a waste of a great cast (and of my precious time)!!
