Some people perversely & automatically hate anything perceived as 'popular' just as others follow the herd and…
I have to admit that sometimes I get the vague feeling that some viewers (not referring to those in this discussion but more generally speaking) somehow, whether deliberately or not, tend to 'not enjoy' the dramas that a great majority of viewers really like, and it feels almost as if it is a biased judgement no matter what, just to go against the current. I never understood why this happens besides the fact that of course tastes can be different and I totally respect everyone's opinion.
The problem with this drama is the person doing the subs ,It has bad grammar still doesn't know the difference…
I agree with you!! It's very frustrating to read such huge mistakes as also the meaning of the sentences it totally mixed up...how come the subbing is so bad?
I don't usually watch Taiwanese dramas and this one was OK for me. The story was logical and also the way it ended made sense. What was really difficult for me to stand for the whole of the 19 episodes was the weak and totally vulnerable personality of the female lead (I also didn't find her attractive at all). Yes she improved slightly towards the end but she still never became completely self sufficient and strong. I much preferred the male lead's growth throughout the story and how he gradually changed viewpoint and attitude. I loved some of the second characters and hope to see them again in other projects.
I have to admit I was expecting a little more from such a great OTP. This turned out to be just a very light hearted rom-com but nothing more than that. Fun if there is nothing better to watch and useful to unwind when tired or stressed but I definitely need a more meaty and structured plot if I have to classify a drama as one of my favourites. It's a pity as I enjoyed the leads as a couple and I know it will be almost impossible to see them together again in a drama so I will just have to wait for their next separate projects.
What an interesting article!! Thanks for writing it. What do I think of reviews? First of all I never read them before watching a drama. Sometimes when choosing what to watch next I quickly scan through the ratings of reviews and read some of the short comments in the drama page. This is because I don't feel the need to read so many details about it but just get the general overall feeling of previous viewers. Whereas when I finish watching a drama I do tend to read a few reviews just to see what other viewers thought of it and if we had similar or different opinions. I only read a few as I am not really interested in details about acting, music, plot and so on...a broad feel is enough for me. This is probably why also when it comes to writing reviews I prefer to write a short comment that quickly summarizes my opinion on the drama which also helps me to get my ideas together on what I just finished watching rather than delve into too many details of its different aspects.
Thanks for writing this article. I am enjoying this drama a lot for all the reasons you described here. I haven't seen the original or any remakes either and I am finding the story really interesting and the Korean version really well made.
I would suggest watching this drama as a filler and with not too many expectations except for a laid back and relaxing experience. I carried on with it mainly for the leads whom I admire but the drama was really nothing exceptional. Heavy, obvious and bothersome product placement in this romcom as well.
I had really high expectations for this drama (probably too high) as I adore all the three main leads. I enjoyed the first half of the story as it was original, quirky and different from all the other romcoms seen so far. Unfortunately halfway through the plot fell totally flat and the usual Kdrama clichès came back into full swing. For me it was almost like watching two different dramas and I only carried on for the sake of my beloved trio of actors. The restaurant/hotel part (with the delicious dishes) was the only part that interested me by the end as I really couldn't care less for what happened to the OTP. My rating is low because of the big disappointment and I hope to see everyone again soon in a better written drama.
This was a really good legal drama which I enjoyed mostly because it dealt with real life issues in a very natural way. I have to say that I was skeptical at the beginning because of the young age of the leads acting as judges but it all made sense when they came across all the many difficulties that this job entails and how they faced them bringing in new and brave perspectives. My favourite character here was definitely Judge Han Se San. I have always admired Sung Dong Il for acting so naturally and at the same time being credible and touching...in this role he really surpassed himself and I really hope he wins some kind of award. In any case it's a 10 for me.
This was a really good thriller which I enjoyed overall (even if it's not my favourite genre). Great writing, directing and acting. I hope to see the cast again in a less darker story.
This is such an interesting article! Thanks for writing it as it really got me thinking and it made me realize that indeed I prefer main characters that have development or/and a decent foil and or/and strong goal. Most of the dramas I rated with a 10 have these characteristics so it really made sense to me. :)
Thanks for writing this article. I am enjoying this drama very much as it shows how difficult it is to be a judge all over the world and not only in Korea. It's impressive how Oh Reum is so brave to try to change such a rigid system. My favourite character here is Senior Judge Han Se Sang as he can be strict but also sweet and gentle (with his own family for example) and sometimes really funny!! Everyone else in the cast is also very good but I find Sung Dong Il a unique actor.
This was an enjoyable drama for me mostly because of the awesome cast and the great job they all did with an average plot. In fact the story itself was not particularly original but what kept the drama special was the whole team of goodies and baddies and how they interacted with each other. LJK as always brilliant in both acting and fighting scenes. I hope to see him a little chubbier in his next drama.

Woow...long list of unforgettable villains here. I only know the Korean ones you mentioned and I agree they played their role really well. Another good one is Uhm Ki Joon in Defendant playing the twin brothers...he was really creepy and very clever too!!
Thanks for sharing your story with us. It was really beautiful to see how you found your calling in life also going through many struggles. Well done and lots and lots of congratulations! I always thought of doctors and nurses as angels who help those who suffer. So thanks also for choosing this difficult path.
Thanks for this article about this drama which is really good fun. I am also enjoying it a lot although I found that the latest episodes are not as entertaining as the first ones. I hope the writers can keep a good pace as the cast is doing a really good job.
I am glad I decided to watch this drama because of many positive comments I read here and there as it turned out to be pretty good for me! I enjoyed the plot very much indeed as it was original, even though it dealt with time travel, well written and acted by an excellent cast. I was surprised to enjoy it so much as it's only my third Taiwanese drama in many years of drama watching as I generally prefer mainland Chinese dramas. The romance part was also convincing and fun to watch. I definitely recommend this drama and I hope many more of such high quality will be released in the future.
Thanks for interviewing Steph and making this interesting post. I have followed her since her last years in Korea and always enjoyed her Youtube videos and her opinions on dramas (and also the ones referring to the Korean society and her move back to the US). She's really good fun to watch and I hope she will continue for a long time to share her opinions on the dramas she enjoys with us. I also really like her paintings! :)
This drama is my favourite airing one at the moment. I absolutely love the cast and in particular the three main leads. All of them are fantastic actors and I am finding the story original and quirky just as you wrote. I hope the next episodes will be aired soon.
