This was truly a great drama. The first few episodes were a little hard to understand for what concerns the political aspect but afterwards the story had a really good flow and it was very involving. Great cast and acting, beautiful settings and a convincing story. I will keep an eye on Ma Tan Yu's future projects and I highly recommend this drama to all Chinese historical lovers like myself.
Such a great and comprehensive list!! Thanks so much for updating us on all the wonderful oncoming dramas. I will surely be watching many of these in the coming months...so much to choose from!
Thank you for reading! : ) I feel like a lot of people have pointed out that the main ship is moving too quickly,…
I agree that the drama is portraying an andult relationship and the "big revelation/confession scene" is not appropriate here. This is not what I meant when I said that for me it is lacking chemistry...it's just that this aspect here seems cold to me as have felt much more chemistry in other adult relationships in the past. In any case I am enjoying every other aspect of Lawless Lawyer.
Thanks for your article. I have reached Episode 8 and although I am enjoying this drama very much I find the plot quite predictable and not too original. I appreciate the cast who is doing a great job and I also like the OTP very much indeed even though I somehow can't feel as much chemistry as I would have liked. I hope the second half will be written a little better.
Thanks for this article. I watched both Nirvanas and I personally preferred n. 2 because the plot was more understandable and concentrated on human relations rather than political schemes. I agree that settings, costumes and OST were great too.
Thanks for this interesting article. I have watched all of these except for Love that makes you cry and they were truly great dramas. However as I am not a fan of healing dramas because they really make me suffer whilst watching them I try not to choose them on purpose (I rarely read the synopsis of dramas). This is why I will keep well away from Come and Hug Me now that I found out that it's a healing drama.
Overall this was a good drama as it was acted well and it also had a good OST. What didn't convince me completely was the story, as from the start it was quite far fetched and unrealistic. The way the writers made it progress was quite frustrating towards the middle and then in the end they decided to solve the whole issue by finding an easy way out. So on the whole it felt like watching a depressing fairy tale which is why my rating can't be more than 7.
Thanks so much for posting this list. TBH I only watched Quartet of which I appreciated the OST, but my favourite here is definitely Utada Hikaru's OST. I also enjoyed listening to Namie Amuro, Koda Kumi and Perfume's OST.
This drama was a total disappointment for me. I was looking forward to seeing these really good actors which I admire in a well written story whereas all I got were 16 loong hours of a very slow moving and plotless drama. By the last episodes I couldn't bare the dark (this director really enjoyed shooting most of the drama in darkness) empty moments spent staring in the emptiness any longer with the same slow rhythm music playing over and over again!! The point of the whole drama was extremely ordinary and there was not one aspect that stood out and made it special in any way (probably because I am at an age in which kissing, hugging and lovey dovey scenes are not enough if not sustained by an interesting background story). I hope to see the cast in better projects in the future.
I haven't watched the last episode as yet but number 15 already wore me out for its length and dragginess. I totally agree with everything you wrote...it would have definitely been a good movie rather than a neverending and boring drama. :)
This was a fun watch and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute because of the clever writing and great acting. I am so happy for Jang Geun Suk who finally chose a really good project which made his acting talent shine through the two different characters that he played extremely well. I also enjoyed the remainder of the cast and in particular Joong Woon In's excellent interpretation of the villain and also the three members of the conning group. I had a lovely and easygoing time with this drama.
Unfortunately this drama's plot was very similar to that of Queen for Seven Days but not developed as deeply. I appreciated the cast's effort to make the best of a script which had nothing original or particularly striking. My rating can't be higher than 6.5.
Thanks for writing this article as it is always interesting for me to discover totally different viewpoints from mine. Of course I wholly respect everyone's opinion therefore will not go into detail point by point why it all made perfect sense to me and most of all why I found the plot EXTREMELY ROMANTIC!! All I can say is that in this drama for me love abunded everywhere...especially between husband and wife (of course Hye Ran only understood her feelings and her husbands's when it was too late but they were definitely there!). The only thing that Hye Ran did wrong was not to tell her husband straight away about the blackmailing as IMO she never messed around with Kevin Lee at all (it was always him pursuing her and the kiss was a goodbye and good riddance one) but her silence led to many misunderstandings. I am thankful for Misty with such a strong and independent female lead which unfortunately are very rare in dramaland.
I didn't watch Strong Woman, and I rated While You were Sleeping with a 7 so it was OK for me but nothing spectacular. Out of the three I really enjoyed Descendants because of the original setting and story and also because the cast was excellent and it got a 10 from me.
